A Study on Systematic Firmware Security Analysis Method for IoT Devices (체계적인 IoT 기기의 펌웨어 보안 분석 방법에 관한 연구)

  • IoT devices refer to embedded devices that can communicate with networks. Since there are various types of IoT devices and they are widely used around us, in the event of an attack, damages such as personal information leakage can occur depending on the type of device. While the security team analyzes IoT devices, they should target firmware as well as software interfaces since IoT devices are operated by both of them. However, the problem is that it is not easy to extract and analyze firmware and that it is not easy to manage product quality at a certain level even if the same target is analyzed according to the analyst's expertise within the security team. Therefore, in this paper, we intend to establish a vulnerability analysis process for the firmware of IoT devices and present available tools for each step. Besides, we organized the process from firmware acquisition to analysis of IoT devices produced by various commercial manufacturers, and we wanted to prove their validity by applying it directly to drone analysis by various manufacturers.

  • As a follow-up research of a qualitative study conducted by Lee(2015), this study needed to carry out a quantitative research targeting not a group of experts but of working-level staff and verify the validity of the assessment scales. As far as the study learned from an exploratory factor analysis of the preliminary research, these 12 questions that were incorrectly categorized or that presented outliers had to be removed and as a consequence, the researcher of the study was led to an outcome(75 Items) that would correspond to this factor structure which one had temporarily set up. For the next step, in order to carry out a confirmatory factor analysis, the study worked on verification on a four-stage structural equation model with each of the factors which the researcher had established applied by stage. In the end, a result to confirm how the model's goodness of fit eventually increases with the factors which the researcher had set up added was gained and lastly, another outcome to agree to the hair designers' expertise practice model which the researcher had created was obtained. In the meantime, in terms of the assessment scales which this study has discussed, the study assumes that since the scales accepted a self-rating method, it may lead not only to increase in expertise through self-reflection but also to establishment of a rational class system based on results of objective expertise measuring but not of subjective judgment by superiors.

  • Acoustic performance of loudspeakers for sound reproduction has been qualitatively evaluated by using the listening test by juries in the development and final evaluation stages. However, the subjective evaluation method has many problems in the viewpoint of reliability and repeatability that are mainly related to the jury performance, as well as time and economy. In this reason, objective techniques should be tried to evaluate the acoustic performance of loudspeakers as well as the conventional subjective test. The object of this study is to find if there is any correlation between the statistically treated in test results and the measured results based on the loudness of reproduced sound signals. For the four-step statistical analysis, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukeys method are employed for dealing with the data from the listening test. For the objective evaluation, Zwickers loudness considering the human hearing characteristics is calculated for the measured sound signal emitted from each loudspeaker and the objective ratings such as fidelity rating (FR) and softness rating (SR) is suggested. The correlation between two ratings has been demonstrated for an actual set of loudspeakers using FR, SR and correlation coefficient. The method in this study can be useful in statistically evaluating commercial or prototype loudspeakers without using very time-consuming and expensive subjective testing.

Diagnosis of Scoping and Type of Review on the Marine Environmental Impact Assessment for Ocean Energy Development Project (해양에너지개발사업 환경영향평가 검토유형 및 중점평가사항 진단)

  • This study reviewed the type of the project and developmental plan related to ocean energy development in the coastal land boundaries and the ocean, and suggested the efficient scoping method through the diagnosis of the key items of environmental impact assessment (EIA) in the coastal area. The major projects are the construction of tidal power plant, tidal current power plant, and offshore wind power plant in the public water, and also those are the construction of solar power plants in the coastal land boundaries. While the project plans on a large scale such as the construction of tidal power plant, it is important to consider both property of usefulness of the designated areas and harmony analysis with marine space availability based on the adequacy of the site selection and relevance of plan with the master plan for reclamation and strategic environmental assessment (SEA). And also it needs to be considered the careful checkup on the EIA checklist referring to the type of project, effective post-monitoring, and suggestion of mitigating methods to minimize the environmental impacts during the stage of actual environmental impact assessment. Introduction of a system of integrated marine environmental impact assessment should be considered for reasonable and effective manage to developmental projects on the marine spatial area.

Validity Analysis on Writing Directions and Content Development of Texts for 'Invention and Problem Solving' ('발명과 문제해결'의 집필 방향과 교재 내용에 대한 타당도 분석)

  • This study aims at examining text contents and its writing directions and analyzing their validity to develop text books of "invention and problem solving", which will be used for advanced courses of specialized high school of invention and patents. To develop text book contents and writing direction, literature research and professional association meetings were performed and to verify validity on developed text book contents and writing direction, survey research was performed. The subjects of survey research to verify validity consist of seventy five teachers who participated in the training course for invention leaders hosted by International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI) of Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). To examine validity on text writing directions, each area of the text, themes, and modules, questionnaires that consist of multiple choice questions, and open questions that participants can describe their opinions were developed. Text book writing plans are included in the questionnaires to help the understanding on text book contents. The conclusions drawn from results of validity analysis are as follows: First, each theme and modules of 'invention and problem solving' were properly developed for common text books for the advance course of specialized high school of invention and patents. Second, as for the text book writing direction of 'invention and problem solving', text books emphasize research ability and creative thinking. They were developed to help increase critical thinking, logical thinking and problem solving ability.

Convergent Web-based Education Program to Prevent Dementia (웹기반의 치매 예방용 융합교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of the present study was to develop a convergent education contents for dementia prevention, operating on the web network applying modern information technology(IT). At the preparation stage, local and worldwide literatures related to dementia were analyzed followed by surveying industry demands, based on which the program was designed and developed. In the following enhancement stage, the program was modified as much as possible by advices obtained from experts in various fields. Development results of the present program are summarized as follows. Firstly, 645 intellect development model to prevent dementia was established through peer review and verification of convergent education theories by expert groups. This model was named as "Garisani" meaning "cognition capable of judging objects" in the Korean language. Secondly, 'Find a way' and 'Connect a line' modules were developed in the numeric field as well as 'Identify a letter(I, II)' modules, in the language field for web-based left brain training program. Thirdly, 'Find my car' and 'Vision training' modules in the attention field and 'Object inference' and 'Compare pictures' modules in the cognition field were developed for web-based right brain training program. Fourth, 'Pentomino' and 'BQmaze'(Brain Quotient and maze) modules in the space perception field and 'Visual training' in the memory field were developed for web-based left and right brains training. Fifth, all results were integrated leading to a 52 week Garisani convergent education program for dementia prevention.

Service Design for Using the Drones in the Early Stages Fires of Dense Residential Areas (주택가 밀집지역 화재발생 초기 드론 활용 서비스디자인 연구)

  • Recently, through the services that use drones at fire sites to deliver on-site and road conditions into the situation room and life-saving activities or the deliveries of first aid outfits at the accident scenes that are inaccessible to humans, there are more and more cases of dealing with emergency situations. Therefore, by studying the service design using drones in the initial stage of response to fires in dense residential areas, this study was intended to reify the service design area of the response stage, including the dispatch of fire sites and the fire suppression. To do this, through literature researches, research directions were explored by examining the concept and process review of service design, and by analyzing the application cases using service design. In order examine the validity of this study, a one-on-one interview was conducted to identify the use and problems of drones among incumbent firefighters, and identified the applicability of drones to fire sites by targeting drone experts. Field research was conducted to identify the location and distance of road conditions, site conditions, and 119 safety centers, by making Yongsan-gu, the most vulnerable area to fire in Seoul, as a research sample. And, among the methodologies of service design, Persona and Customer Journey Map were prepared and Insight was derived, by using virtual scenarios for the experience values and behavior analyses of the interested parties. Through these processes, this researcher intended to present the fire-response service design and help establish the direction of service design in the initial stages of fire in Korea.

Mathematical Reasoning Ability and Error Comparison through the Descriptive Evaluation of Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students and Non-Gifted Students (초등수학영재와 일반학생의 서술형 평가를 통한 수학적 추론 능력 및 오류 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to figure out the perceptional characteristics of mathematically gifted elementary students by comparing the mathematical reasoning ability and errors between mathematically gifted elementary students and non-gifted students. This research has been targeted at 63 gifted students from 5 elementary schools and 63 non-gifted students from 4 elementary schools. The result of this research is as follows. First, mathematically gifted elementary students have higher inductive reasoning ability compared to non-gifted students. Mathematically gifted elementary students collected proper, accurate, systematic data. Second, mathematically gifted elementary students have higher inductive analogical ability compared to non-gifted students. Mathematically gifted elementary students figure out structural similarity and background better than non-gifted students. Third, mathematically gifted elementary students have higher deductive reasoning ability compared to non-gifted students. Zero error ratio was significantly low for both mathematically gifted elementary students and non-gifted students in deductive reasoning, however, mathematically gifted elementary students presented more general and appropriate data compared to non-gifted students and less reasoning step was achieved. Also, thinking process was well delivered compared to non-gifted students. Fourth, mathematically gifted elementary students committed fewer errors in comparison with non-gifted students. Both mathematically gifted elementary students and non-gifted students made the most mistakes in solving process, however, the number of the errors was less in mathematically gifted elementary students.

  • 데이터 웨어하우스와 데이터 품질에 관한 문헌연구를 통하여 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에서 데이터 품질의 향상을 위한 개념적 프레임워크를 개발하고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 데이터 웨어하우스 데이터 품질향상 활동을 지원하는 프레임워크를 개발하는 목적은 (1) 다양한 요구를 가진 사용자들이 웨어하우스 데이터에 접근하기 때문에, 사용자의 요구를 만족시키며 기업의 목적에 적합한 품질향상 활동을 지원하기 위해서이며, 다양한 기업활동을 가장 잘 지원할 수 있는 데이터 품질향상 지침을 관리자에게 제공하기 위해서 이다. (2) 웨어하우스 관리자의 데이터 품질향상 활동을 지원하기 위해서는 품질차원이나 데이터세트 등과같은 품질향상에 필요한 다양한 이슈를 관리자가 인식할 수 있도록 하기 위해서이다. (3) 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에서 데이터 품질 향상에 필요한 체계적이고 포괄적인 안목을 제공하기 위해서이다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 단계로 수행하게 된다. 첫째, 데이터 웨어하우스의 개념과 데이터 웨어하우스의 구축단계 및 데이터 웨어하우스를 구성하는 프레임워크를 검토한다. 둘째, 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에서의 데이터 품질의 기준과 데이터 품질의 측정 및 데이터 품질의 향상 방안 등을 고찰한다. 셋째, 데이터 웨어하우스 환경에서 데이터 품질의 향상을 위한 개념적 프레임워크를 개발하기 위하여 데이터 웨어하우스 데이터 풀질 향상과 관련된 기업활동, 데이터 세트, 품질의 속성 및 차원 등을 정의한다. 마지막으로 데이터 웨어하우스 환경하에서 데이터 품질을 향상할 수 있는 3차원 구조의 개념적 프레임워크를 제안하며, 나아가 제안한 모형에 대하여 데이터 품질 향상을 위한 프로젝트 활동의 사례를 통하여 모형의 타당성을 개념적으로 설명한다.통하여 각각의 제품을 비교하였으며, 둘째 소프트웨어 종류별 평가로 제품을 응용소프트웨어, 응용개발도구, 시스템 소프트웨어로 분류하여 평균값으로 비교하였다. 셋째, 국내외 제품별 평가분석으로 전체 제품을 국내제품과 국외제품으로 분류하여 비교하였으며, 마지막으로 총괄분석을 통해 가중치를 적용하여 전 제품의 점수를 비교하였다. 여기에서는 각 제품의 평균점수에 대한 차이를 95%의 유의수준으로 T-Test를 실시하였다.uted to the society, and what the socioeconomic impacts are resulted from the program. Dietary Behavioral Correlates of Nutrition Label Use in Korean Women (한국 성인 여성에서 영양표시 사용과 식행동 요인과의 관계)

  • This study describes the demographic and diet-related psychosocial correlates of nutrition label use, and examines the relationship between label use and diet. Self-reported dada from a population-based cross-sectional survey of 2073 Korean women aged 20 to 60 years were collected to identify demographic and health-related characteristics, belief on diet-disease relationship, awareness on importance of healthy eating practice and diet quality associated with label use. Label users, who are in the stage of action and maintenance (31.6%), were more likely to have belief on nutrient-disease relationship (in sodium, cholesterol, sugar and trans fat) and were more likely to have higher awareness of the importance of healthy eating practice compared with label nonusers, who are in the stage of precontemplation, contemplation and preparation. Label users were more likely to have higher dietary quality compared with label nonusers [odds ratio (OR) = 2.01; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.66, 2.44](P < 0.001). Also, label use appeared to be associated with the consumption of diets that were higher vegetables and fruits, and lower in cholesterol. The findings of this study suggests that reading nutrition labels on food packages may improve food choices and enable healthful dietary practices.
