  • Recently, the smart sensor technologies are rapidly developing in accordance with the technology of implementation in small-size, low-cost, and low power consumption. With these sensor technologies, especially with MEMS and NEMS, the researches on the WSN are actively performing. For the WSN, a network security function is essential even it requires high physical resource level. But the WSN with the smart sensor technologies could not be provided with enough resources for the function because of limited size, computing-power, low-power, and etc. In this paper, we introduce security and key-management protocols of WSN.

  • For successfully deploying many multicast service in the mobile environment, security infrastructures must be developed that manage the keys needed to provide access control to content. In this paper, we propose two methods for designing the key management scheme for the mobile multicast environment. The proposed schemes match the key management tree to the mobile multicast environment for localizing the delivery of he rekeying messages, reducing the communication costs, and solving the handoff problem in wireless region.

  • 3G telecommunication and wireless LAN provide various wireless communication services with their own native advantages and disadvantages. Currently WiBro service was developed to make up for the disadvantages of those services, and 3G-WLAN-WiBro underworking system which enables a user who uses triple-mode terminals to use those three networks was proposed. Even though each network adopts mutual authentication process between users and networks to provide security and accounting, they use different authentication protocols. In this paper, integrated authentication and key management protocol is proposed which makes use of previously used authentication information and supports safe roaming when a user moves from one network to another one under a same service provider on the 3G-WLAN-WiBro interworking network.

  • Internet of Things(IoT) is an intelligent technology and service in which all objects communicate with each other through various networks. Recently Internet of Things(IoT) is one of the fields that is attracting attention as the development of ICT industry. MQTT is a protocol which is safe using TLS or adopting light packet structure for effciency of memory and power using. In this paper, when TLS is used the process of encryption / decryption in the broker occurs. We propose an efficient MQTT protocol through centralized key management by adding authentication server.

  • Changing group key is necessary for the remaining members when a new member joins or a member leaves the group in multicast communications. It is required to guarantee perfect forward and backward confidentiality. Unfortunately, in large groups with frequent membership changes, key changes become the primary bottleneck for scalable group. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for providing efficient group key distribution in large and dynamic groups. Unlike existing secure multicast protocols, our protocol is scalable to large groups because both the frequency and computational overhead of re-keying is determined by the size of a subgroup instead of the size of the whole group, and offers mechanism to prevent the subgroup managers with group access control from having any access to the multicast data that are transfered by sender. It also provides security service for preserving privacy in wireless computing environments.

  • During the last decade, security models have been defined for two- and three-parity key exchange protocols. Currently there is a growing research interest in security models for group key management schemes. While various security models and provably secure protocols have been proposed for distributed group key exchange schemes, no results are hewn for centralized group key distribution schemes in spite of their theoretical and practical importance. We describe security requirements and a formal security model for centralized group key distribution scheme: we define the model on the channel controlled by adversaries with the ability of strong user corruption. In the security model, we propose a conversion module which can transform centralized tree-based group key distribution schemes in the literature to provably secure centralized tree-based group key distribution schemes.

  • The remote healthcare monitoring system enables a doctor to diagnose and monitor patient's health problem from a distance. Previous researches have focused on key establishment method between a patient and a particular doctor to solve personal health information disclosure problem in data transmission process. However, when considering a misdiagnosis of doctor, the result of a diagnosis by a many doctors is more reliable. In previous work, in order to select multiple doctors, patient should generate shared key for each chosen doctor and perform many times encryptions. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a secure data transmission protocol for receiving diagnosis from multiple doctors using identity-based proxy re-encryption scheme. In proposed protocol, a patient don't need key management work for session key. Also, monitoring server performs re-encryption process on behalf of patient. So, we can reduce computational burden of patient in previous work.

  • E-mail systems using the intranet is widely exposed to internal threats should an administrator or a third party decides to misuse the information. To solve this problem, we propose a safe intranet email encryption protocol using the symmetrical-key password algorithm. Since the proposed protocol encrypts the data using a pre-agreed session keys between the users, the data will be safe from malignant access attempts provided that the session key is not exposed.
