  • 지식정보사회에서 정보의 효율적인 관리와 활용은 국가 경쟁력을 이끄는 주요한 축이다. 따라서 정보의 저장·관리·가공·유통 전반에 걸친 데이터베이스 산업은 명실공히 지식정보사회의 기간산업으로 주목받고 있다. 최근 한국데이터베이스진흥센터에서 실시한‘3분기 데이터베이스 산업 기업경기실사지수(DB-BSI) 및 이용환경지수(DB-CSI) 조사’결과를 통해 이러한 데이터베이스 산업의 현주소를 살펴본다.

Review on Genetic Algorithms for Pattern Recognition (패턴 인식을 위한 유전 알고리즘의 개관)

  • In pattern recognition field, there are many optimization problems having exponential search spaces. To solve of sequential search algorithms seeking sub-optimal solutions have been used. The algorithms have limitations of stopping at local optimums. Recently lots of researches attempt to solve the problems using genetic algorithms. This paper explains the huge search spaces of typical problems such as feature selection, classifier ensemble selection, neural network pruning, and clustering, and it reviews the genetic algorithms for solving them. Additionally we present several subjects worthy of noting as future researches.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the UCC services prototype system for image and video. The proposed system consists of the two components such as the multimedia processing subsystem and the metadata management subsystem, and provides the API to UCC service developers. The multimedia processing subsystem supports the media management and editing of image and video, and the streaming services of video. The metadata management subsystem supports the metadata management and retrieval of image and video, and the reply management and script processing of UCC.

  • Immersive contents is content that provides a realistic experience by maximizing the user's five senses, and includes virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality. In order to provide a sense of reality to users in immersive content, it is necessary to provide realistic visual images, hearing, and touch. However, due to the rapid change in the environment for developing immersive content, experts in training human resources are having difficulties in designing the curriculum. In this study, we propose a series of educational courses that use drones to acquire and process real-world measurement data and apply the derived data to VR, AR, and MR to help experts in training immersive content develop talent. The design of training process composes through demand survey and analysis of companies, students, and local communities. This study can be a useful resource for education experts who want to train immersive contents manpower.

Evaluation of Mechanical Characteristic and Biological Stability of Dental Alloys by the Manufacture Method (가공방법에 따른 치과용 합금의 기계적 특성 및 생물학적 안정성 평가)

  • The material of the dental prosthesis was required bio-compatibility for biological, chemical, and physical stabilities. This study was conducted the stability evaluation of mechanical, biological characteristics through comparing Co-Cr alloy(SC group), Ti alloy(ST group) made by the selective laser melting method with Co-Cr alloy(CC group), Ni-Cr alloy(CN group) made by the casting method. Modulus of elasticity for mechanical characteristic evaluation was measured by the tensile test. And we conducted the release material analysis using lactic acid-NaCl solution for the evaluation of biological stability and were observed cytotoxicity through the content of this release medium. Taking these results into account, the Co-Cr alloy made by the selective laser melting method was observed modulus of elasticity higher than he Co-Cr alloy made by the casting method. And the Co-Cr alloy made by the selective laser melting method had more superior biological stability than the other groups as the result of cytotoxicity evaluation through the release material analysis. By this results, we think that alloys made by the selective laser melting method can be applied as materials for making the dental prosthesis.

  • Rights process problem was stated among actors that participated in digital contents distribution while it was various type of digital content service. In order to solve it, It was expressed conceptual and technical elements by reflecting a system. Among them, the interoperability of metadata became a important issue. As for the metadata for contents service, necessity about standardization is stated as a basic framework composing a service system. This paper proposed the metadata element which focus on the rights process that is being a key factor of a DRM(Digital Right Management) system for digital comics contents service. Therefore, it was verified by using Context Model of MPEG-21 RDD with interoperability between metadata elements which developed a XML format and the existing MPEG-21 RDD elements. Measurement and verification of pipe cutting power using Labview software (Labview 소프트웨어를 활용한 파이프 절단 파워 측정 및 검증)

  • Cutting power estimation can be used to select appropriate actuators in the design process of machine tools. Therefore, accurate estimation of cutting power is an important part of the design process. In this study, pipe cutting power is first calculated theoretically using the slotting cutting power equation and then verified experimentally. In this case, a pipe cutting machine is used to cut two pipes made of different materials. Power consumptions in the motor during pipe cutting are measured by using the embedded software, Labview, and NI hardware. The slotting cutting power equation can thus be confirmed easily comparing theoretically calculated cutting powers with experimentally measured cutting powers. The pipe materials used in this study are SUS304 and AL6N01. The specific cutting power of AL6N01 material is proposed through our cutting experiment. As a result, this cutting power can be used to design machining tools for AL6N01 material.

  • The emergence of the new technologies, which are represented by multimedia and the internet, brings the tremendous change in respect of process, record, delivery, and transmission of the knowledge and information. The new digital contents made by these technologies help to improve the acquisition efficiency of the knowledge and information by directly and simultaneously stimulating humans' different senses. This paper concentrates on how the accumulated computer technologies such as multimedia and the Internet can be used to make the effective digital contents. This paper suggests four development method for the digital contents and gives the implemented example for each development method.

  • Food tourism has grown exponentially every year and food is now considered a vital component of the tourism experience. In recent years, smartphone applications have emerged as a new tool helping travelers create experiences, which allow a number of users to access easily informations about foods while traveling abroad. This study propose a new developing model of food cultural contents for smartphone application for international travelers, 'menu guide for international travelers'. It was created by a group of experts in food culture, who had been lived or are living in 10 different countries, and the collective intelligence enabled to create extensive and reliable food cultural contents. Therefore, it is considered that this developing model of food cultural contents will be a good example for the development of mobile contents for smartphone applications.
