A Corpus Analysis to the Engineering Academic English (공학학술영어에 대한 코퍼스 분석)

  • 본 연구는 공과대학 학생들이 배우는 전공영어로서의 특수목적영어(ESP)에 대해 코퍼스 기반 접근법의 유용성을 논하고자 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공과대학에서 사용하는 전공텍스트를 코퍼스로 구축하여 컴퓨터에 기반한 분석에서 나온 결과들을 제시하면서 공학영어 코퍼스의 특성을 살펴보고 궁극적으로 영어매개수업을 듣는 공대학생들의 데이터 기반 학습에 일조하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 사용된 목표 코퍼스는 세부전공과 상관없이 공통적으로 적용되는 공학과목을 선정하여 구축되었고 비교대상인 참조 코퍼스는 British National Corpus를 사용하였다. 공학영어 코퍼스는 총 단어 180만개, 단어 유형 만 6천여개로 이루어졌고 코퍼스 분석도구인 AntConc 3.4.4를 이용하여 빈도 분석과 키워드 분석이 수행되었다. 고빈도수 어휘의 분석결과 목표 코퍼스와 참조 코퍼스에서 가장 빈번하게 나타나는 어휘군은 내용어(content words)보다는 기능어(function words) 형태가 많다는 점이 나타났고 내용어군만 분석결과 참조코퍼스에 비해 공학영어 코퍼스에 과학영역의 변이어가 많이 분포하고 있음이 드러났다. 또한 키워드 분석에서는 공학영어 코퍼스의 키워드 동사군이 전문적인 어휘(technical vocabulary)보다는 비전문적인 학술적 어휘(non-technical academic vocabulary)가 상대적으로 많이 분포되어 있음이 드러나 ESP교육을 실시함에 있어서 전공관련 전문영어와 함께 일반적인 학술 영어에 대한 인식을 고양해야 할 필요성이 대두된다.

  • In this paper, What is called WBI teaching model, is designed by the principle of teaching guidance which is a new research according to changes of educational media such as a computer. It's planned to take the business department in a commercial high school as an example so as to master learning suitable to learners individual characteristics with focusing on man to man education. The education by means of WBI makes learners have motivations and achievement as well as it makes possible to learn by each student's level and even further to study by individuals. Especially, even though the presentations of problems and learning contents like the established WBI are basic in this survey, I designed and embodied for the interaction between learner and instructor and focused on the showing of accomplishment at each field.

  • This paper proposes a computer-based practical automatic scoring system for Korean short answers through student answer analysis and natural language processing techniques. The proposed system reduces the overall scoring time and budget, while improving the ease-of-use to write answer templates from student answers as well as the accuracy and reliability of automatic scoring system. To evaluate the application of the automatic scoring system and compare to the human scoring process, we performed an experiment using the student answers of social science subject in 2014 National Assessment of Educational Achievement.

  • 대학 생활을 하면서 자신이 필요한 정보를 모두 챙기기는 쉽지 않다. 매번 학교 홈페이지나 관련 사이트에 접속하여 확인하는 것은 번거롭기도 하고 신입생의 경우에는 그런 정보의 존재조차 잘 모르는 경우가 많다. 때문에 이 논문에서는 웹 크롤링 방식을 통해 다양한 사이트에서 필요한 정보를 수집하고, 기계학습 모델 중 N-GCN을 기반으로 한 추천시스템을 이용하여 본인에게 맞는 추천과목, 동아리 모집공고, 학술대회, 채용공고 등의 정보를 제공해주는 Kingomanager를 소개한다. Kingomanager는 학생들의 학년, 관심분야를 고려해서 개개인별 맞춤 정보를 추천해준다. 추천 받은 정보들은 메신저 형태의 어플리케이션을 통해서 확인할 수 있고, 해당 정보들은 언제든지 다시 검색하여 다시 찾아볼 수 있다. 어플리케이션 구현에서 Front-end는 React-Native를 사용하였고, Back-end는 Flask와 AWS 서비스를 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는 성균관대학교 소프트웨어학과 학생을 대상으로 하는 프로토타입 어플리케이션을 개발했다.

  • In the field of computer science, operating system concept is taught in university, but we now teach it in the middle and/or high school. Computer is also taught not only in college but also in middle and high school. If we look up the education of computer that is trained in school, basic principles or core techniques of computer science is educated only with its theory. If the theoretical education of computer science is just trained, sometimes students are not interested in it because of lack of shortage of mass media. Therefore, we could say that it is important that the computer education features a diverse range of media, including prints, paintings, sculpture, digital photographs, mixed media, and a simulation program. For all this reason, we design and implement a program for simulation with computer operating systems especially, CPU scheduling. There are many CPU scheduling algorithms we suggest to make students understand scheduling with some different examples in practical use. In this paper, we practically propose a new approach to be used with a study tool to make a motivation for students. We design a simulation program for teaching computer operation systems to show CPU scheduling and we implement a program to make use of comparison of FCFS, SJFS, PS, and RR scheduling algorithms. With our simulation program we present a comparative analysis between scheduling algorithms could be possible.

A Study on Comparative Analysis of Interaction of Class Based on ICT : In The Case of Social Studies of Elementary School (ICT기반 수업 상호작용 비교 분석 연구 : 초등학교 사회과목 대상으로)

  • The Interaction is an important factor in classroom. Existing interaction analysis method has been analysed between teacher and students only language-centered. In this paper, we developed an ICT based interaction analysis system to analyse interaction of ICT including language-centered and analysed interaction of class through FIACS and ICT-FIACS. This system consists of ten kinds of classification items and analysis indexes. In order to comparative analyse between ICT-FIACS and FIACS, we analysed interaction of ICT in six grade classroom at elementary school. In result of analysis, ICT utilization index (63.62%), teachers of ICT utilization index (57.71%) and students of ICT utilization (42.29%) were analysed. Through this system, interaction of ICT can be analysed as well as language-centered interaction in ICT based Classroom.

A Study on Korean EFL Collegians' Approach to L2 Writing Based on Metacognition and Affectivity (상위인지와 정서에 기반한 외국어 학습방법에 대한 연구)

  • The present study attempted to identify the metacognitive strategies used by L2 writers at the university level as well as their particular aspects which might influence the use of these strategies. Twenty-seven participants, all of whom were enrolled in an English course, were asked to write an expository essay and then complete a questionnaire which includes their beliefs and attitudes toward L2 writing experience and the metacognitive strategies during the writing process. It was found that even though inexpert writers knew and employed as many strategies as the expert counterparts did, they were unsuccessful in the quality of their texts. Simply possessing a repertoire of metacognitive strategies was not enough for successful L2 writing. The failure of the inexpert writers to apply these metacognitive strategies in an effective manner was influenced by affective factors such as anxiety, self-confidence, self-concept, etc. As a result of this study, a pedagogical implication is suggested.

  • Recently, in the field of education, various attempts have been made to apply virtual reality technology to an educational field and use it as an educational medium. Accordingly, in the science subject area, it is necessary to simulate science experiments that can make various and active experiments out of various limitations such as space and situation by using virtual reality environment construction technology. In this study, after selecting a physics course from a science subject, an experimental simulation using a parabolic motion formula, one of physical phenomena, is implemented in a virtual space, and then used in actual physics education based on the learning standards of the STEAM theory. Prove this is possible. Through this, it was confirmed that a specific educational model using virtual reality space can be designed, and it shows that education can be conducted with more effective educational methods in various subjects of education through the combination of traditional educational model and modern technology. Regarding the results of the research, it suggests the possibility of future research plans and practical use in the educational field.

Prediction of Academic Self-Efficacy, Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use on Flow and Academic Achievement in Community College Education (공학계열 전문대생의 학업적 자기효능감, 유용성, 이용용이성의 몰입과 성취도 예측에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the present study is to examine prediction of academic self-efficacy, perceived usefulness and ease of use on flow and academic achievement in community college education. For this study, D Community college in Korea was chosen and two survey were conducted. The subject were 114 engineering students who enrolled in the spring semester of 2010. The result of this study through multiple regression analysis indicated that academic self-efficacy predicted significantly on flow. But perceived usefulness and ease of use didn't predicted significantly on flow. Also, academic self-efficacy, perceived usefulness predicted significantly on academic achievement. But ease of use didn't predicted significantly on academic achievement. The result of this study suggested that academic self-efficacy, perceived usefulness should be considered for improving flow and academic achievement in community college education.

An analysis of the impact of cyber university students' self-efficacy, subjective norms on the behavioral intention to use mobile web service (사이버대학생의 모바일자기효능감, 주관적 규범이 모바일웹서비스 수용의도에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine a structural relationship among mobile self-efficacy, subjective norm, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention of mobile web service using technology acceptance model (TAM). 144 cyber university students enrolled in a course with mobile web service participated for this study. The result revealed that 1) mobile self-efficacy (${\beta}$ = .43, p<.05), subjective norm (${\beta}$ = .30, p<.05), perceived ease of use (${\beta}$ = .25, p<.05) had a direct effect on perceived usefulness. Second, mobile self-efficacy (${\beta}$ = .36, p<.05), subjective norm (${\beta}$ = .44, p<.05) had a direct effect on perceived ease of use. Third, perceived usefulness (${\beta}$ = .94, p<.05) had a direct effect on behavioral intention of mobile web service. However, perceived ease of use did not have a direct effect on behavioral intention of mobile web service significantly. Results of this study emphasize the role of an extended TAM including mobile self-efficacy and subjective norm in a mobile web service course at a cyber university.
