Effect of Image Making Education on Self-Esteem and Education Satisfaction (이미지메이킹 교육이 자아존중감과 교육만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among image making education, self-esteem and education satisfaction using airline service department in the university. In this study, 2 hypotheses based on literature reviews were employed. Questionnaire was also developed based on previous studies. A convenience sample of 240 students was surveyed and 218 usable questionnaires were analyzed. According to the exploratory factor analysis, image making education was divided into 'external image education', 'basic character education' and 'manner education'. Self-esteem, on the other hand, was categorized into the following variables: 'sense of value' and 'esteem' accordingly. Then the data and hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) by AMOS. The results are as follows. Firstly, 'external image' and 'manner education' have positive effect on 'sense of value' while manner education has effect on 'esteem'. Secondly, 'sense of value' and 'esteem' factor have positive effects on education satisfaction. Hence continuous and systematic education should be conducted to administer 'image making curriculum'. Self-esteem should also be taught in schools to encourage student's satisfaction on education. The contribution and limitations of this research were discussed and the future possible researches were mentioned.

The image format research which is suitable in animation work (애니메이션 작업에 사용되는 이미지 포맷 연구)

  • The computer has become an indispensable tool for animation works. However if you don't understand the characteristics of the computer and its software, you might not have the result satisfying your efforts. The incorrect understanding of image format sometimes causes it. Habitually image formats are selected usually for most of works but there is a distinct difference among those image formats while the efficient usages of them are different from each other. For your more efficient work therefore, you need to identify the characteristics of various kinds of image format used mostly for animation works. First I took a look at the theories of the lossy compression and lossless compression, which are two types of data compression widely used in the whole parts of computer world and the difference between bitmap method and vector method, which are respectably different in terms of the way of expressing images and finally the 24 bit true color and 8 bits alpha channel. Based on those characteristics, I have analyzed the functional difference among image formats used between various types of animation works such as 2D, 3D, composing and editing and also the benefits and weakness of them. Additionally I've proved it is wrong that the JPEG files consume a small space in computer work. In conclusion, I suggest the TIF format as the most efficient format for whatever it is editing, composing, 3D and 2D in considering capacity, function and image quality and also I'd like to recommend PSD format which has compatibility and excellent function, since the Adobe educational programs are used a lot for the school education. I hope this treatise to contribute to your right choice of image format in school education and practical works.

Effects of the LOHAS Image of Restaurants on Involvement and Willingness to Pay (레스토랑의 로하스 이미지가 관여도 및 지불의사에 미치는 영향)

  • With the changing consciousness of consumers, there has been an increasing interest in nature-friendly lifestyles and safety of food ingredients. Therefore, the LOHAS image, which has value in social health and sustainability, is expected to be a factor that helps restaurants establish differentiation strategies. This study examined the LOHAS image of restaurants on involvement and willingness to pay. The results were as follows. First, eco-friendly food ingredients and interiors among the LOHAS image factors of restaurants had a significant effect on involvement. Second, the perception of LOHAS in the LOHAS image factors of restaurants had a significant effect on involvement. These results may be due to the lack of a conceptual understanding of LOHAS among restaurant customers, who fail to properly grasp its meaning. Therefore, in order to promote the LOHAS image of restaurants to customers, it is necessary to consider presenting POPs or signs that will enable customers to understand the concept of LOHAS inside the restaurant. Third, consumers' involvement turned out to have a significant effect on their willingness to pay. Thus, it is necessary to imprint the image of a LOHAS restaurant using eco-friendly colors, sculptures, and agricultural products so that customers can perceive food ingredients or interior elements as eco-friendly.

Sensory Image and Preference of the Color Green Shown in Modern Fashion - With Regard to Busan, Ulsan and Gyungnam Area - (현대패션에 나타난 그린 컬러의 감성이미지 및 선호도 - 부산, 울산, 경남 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • After drawing the sensory images from the color green, the difference of sensory images and the difference of the color green according to demographic characteristics and which factors affect the preference have been analysed. The thirty six-photos of 2013 women fashion show on the STYLE.COM were used for the stimuli of green colour fashion for the questionnaire. The people surveyed were adults in their 20s to 50s. The 123 copies of the questionnaire were used for the statistical analysis of this study. Factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Regression analysis test were carried out by SPSS 19 for the statistical analysis of collected data. The results were as follows. The sensory images of green fashion were drawn in six types. The sensory images of green fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on martial status, age, monthly income and occupation. The preference of green colour fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on sex, age, monthly income, occupation. The variables affecting the preference of green fashion were identified as four types, and the most affecting variable to the preference was the favorable and familiar factor. These research results will become available on selecting the target customer and making the marketing differentiation strategy when planning fashion products.

Categorizing Web Image Search Results Using Emotional Concepts (감성 개념을 이용한 웹 이미지 검색 결과 분류)

  • In this paper, we present a novel system to categorize web image search results using emotional concepts and to browse the results more conveniently and easily. The proposed system can categorize search results into 8 emotional categories based on emotion vector, which obtained by color and pattern features. Here, we use Kobayashi’s emotional categories: {romantic, natural, casual, elegant, chic, classic, dandy and modern}. With search results for a given query, the proposed system can provide categorized images for each emotional category. With 1,000 Yahoo! search images, we compared the proposed method with Yahoo! image search engine in respect of satisfaction, efficiency, convenience and relevance with a user study. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of eyeshadow color (brown, purple, and blue), lipstick color (red, orange, and purple), and lipstick tone(vivid, light, dull, and dark) on the makeup image. The experimental materials used for this study were sets of stimulus and response scales (7 point semantic). The stimuli were 36 color pictures manipulated with the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, and lipstick tone using computer simulation. The subjects were 216 female undergraduates living in Jinju city. The data was analyzed by using SPSS program. Analyzing methods were ANOVA and Duncan test. The result of this study are as follows. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components (attractiveness and gracefulness, visibility, cuteness, and softness), Among them, the attractiveness and gracefulness and the visibility were important. Each dimensional image was affected by color coordination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color and lipstick tone. Therefore, the face image through matching eyeshadow and lipstick could be varied by the eyeshadow color, lipstick color and tones.

  • 휴머노이드 로봇이 인간처럼 그림을 그리기 위해서는 순서를 가지는 드로잉 좌표 집합이 필요하다. 하지만 기존 영상 처리를 통한 윤곽선에서의 좌표 집합은 순서가 없고 로봇 암을 들어 올리는 좌표가 없다. 또한 불필요한 좌표가 다수 포함되어 있어서 효율적인 드로잉을 하기가 어려워 드로잉하는데 시간이 많이 걸린다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 3축으로 구성된 휴머노이드 로봇 암이 드로잉하기 위한 좌표 집합을 추출하는 알고리즘을 개발한다. 이를 구현하기 위해서는 로봇이 드로잉하기 위한 윤곽선 추출 알고리즘과 추출한 드로잉 좌표 집합에서 드로잉 순서와 로봇 암을 들어 올리는 점을 전체 좌표 리스트에 포함해야 한다. 제안하는 알고리즘이 추출하는 좌표 집합은 캠 영상으로부터 입력되는 컬러 이미지에서 이미지 프로세싱을 거친 윤곽선을 입력으로 하며, 추출한 좌표들의 순서와 로봇 암의 드로잉 시작점을 삽입함으로서 빠르고 효율적인 로봇 드로잉 좌표 집합 추출 알고리즘을 구현한다. 또한 제안하는 추출 알고리즘을 휴머노이드 로봇에 적용하여 실험하였으며, 좌표 추출 알고리즘의 정확성과 효율성을 비교하였다.

The Visual Evaluation of the Image of Korean Dress according to Color Coordination (컬러 코디네이션에 따른 한복 이미지의 시각적 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of three clothing cues(jacket color, skirt color, and tone of Korean dress) on the image of Korean dress wearer using tone-in-tone coloration. The experimental materials developed for this study are a set of stimuli and response scales. The stimuli are 16 color pictures manipulated with three clothing cues by drawing. The 7-point scale designed for visual evaluation of female impression formation includes 24 bipolar adjectives. The subjects were 192 undergraduate female students in Chinju city. The results of this study are as follow: As analyzing the image of female figure by the jacket color, skirt color, and tone, three factors including youth activity, attractiveness, and visibility were identified. Among these factors, youth activity and attractiveness were proved to be more important. Each dimensional image was affected by color coordination of jacket color, skirt color and tone of korean dress. Therefore, the image of Korean dress wearer could be varied by color coordination of jacket color, skirt color and tone of Korean dress.

Indirect Illumination Algorithm with Mipmap-based Ray Marching and Denoising (밉맵기반 레이 마칭과 디노이징을 이용한 간접조명 알고리즘)

  • This paper introduces an interactive indirect illumination algorithm which considers indirect visibility. First, a small number of rays are emitted on hemisphere of the current pixel to obtain the first intersection. If this point is directly illuminated by the light source, its illuminated color is collected. Second, in order to approximate the indirect visibility, a 3D ray marching algorithm, which is based on a hierarchy structure, is used to accelerate the ray-voxel intersection. Third, the indirect images are denoised by an edge-avoiding filtering with a local means replacement method.

  • Among the properties of new media art works, interaction with audience has now become a big issue, and its influence to general arts, in particular media art, is being stressed more and more. Under the this influence, various experimental works using digital media are being produced and having a try to combination of art and multimedia technology on the network. This paper analyses studies about netart and suggests visualization expression of color data to be interactive between users and art works. The work is to make formative elements based fluid shapes on the analysis of color data extracted from images. This is a new experiment in picturesque expression of data and aesthetic visualization of data.
