Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA (Deformable Template과 GA를 이용한 얼굴 인식 및 아바타 자동 생성)

  • This paper proposes the method to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth in a color image for making an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light condition, and we find skin regions in an input image by using the skin color is defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and Genetic Algorithm(GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those can represent various shape of a face, eyes and a mouth. And GA is very useful search procedure based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. Second, an avatar is created automatically by using contours and Fuzzy C-means clustering(FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face color As a result, we could create avatars like handmade caricatures which can represent the user's identity, differing from ones generated by the existing methods.

  • The electro-hydraulic training device (TP511) provided by Festo Didactic are widely used, but teaching materials do not include mathematical modeling. Thus, there is a limit for full-scale learning about the electro-hydraulic servo system by using this equipment. In this study, for the purpose of improving students' understanding of the classical control and modern control Festo's electro-hydraulic servo training device (TP511) was mathematically modeled and parameter values were calculated by examining the characteristics of each component. And P, PI, PD, and PID controllers highly used in the industrial field, were designed by using the root locus method to achieve the optimal gains and used for simulation and experiments using the Festo's electro-hydraulic servo training apparatus. The validity of the derived mathematical model and the calculated parameter values were verified through simulation and experiment. It was found that the p control can achieve the control target more effectively than the pid control for Festo's electro-hydraulic servo training system by using the root locus method.

Design and Implementation of On-Chip Network Architecture for Improving Latency Efficiency (지연시간 효율 개선을 위한 On-Chip Network 구조 설계 및 구현)

  • As increasing the number of IPs integrated in a single chip and requiring high communication bandwidth on a chip, the trend of SoC communication architecture is changed from bus- or crossbar-based architecture to packet switched network architecture, NoC. However, highly complex control logics in routers require multiple cycles to switch packet. In this paper, we design low complex router to improve the communication latency. Our NoC design is verified by simulation platform modeled by ESL tool, SoC Designer. We also evaluate our NoC design comparing to the previous NoC architecture based on VC router. Our results show that our NoC architecture has less communication latency, even small throughput degradation (about 1-2%).

A Distributed Power Control Algorithm for Data Load Balancing with Coverage in Dynamic Femtocell Networks (다이나믹 펨토셀 네트워크에서 커버리지와 데이터 부하 균형을 고려한 기지국의 파워 조절 분산 알고리즘)

  • A femtocell network has been attracting attention as a promising solution for providing high data rate transmission over the conventional cellular network in an indoor environment. In this paper, we propose a distributed power control algorithm considering both indoor coverage and data load balancing in the femtocell network. As data traffic varies by time and location according to user distribution, each femto base station suffers from an unbalanced data load, which may degrade network performance. To distribute the data load, the base stations are required to adjust their transmission power dynamically. Since there are a number of base stations in practice, we propose a distributed power control algorithm. In addition, we propose the simple algorithm to detect the faulty base station and to recover coverage. We also explain how to insert a new base station into a deployed network. We present the simulation results to evaluate the proposed algorithms.

스퍼터링 및 후 열처리 기법에 의한 V3Si 나노입자 형성과 비휘발성 메모리소자 응용

  • 최근 고밀도 메모리 반도체의 재료와 빠른 응답을 요구하는 나노입자를 이용한 비휘발성 메모리 소자의 제작에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그에 따른 기존의 플래쉬 메모리가 가지는 문제점을 개선하기 위해서 균일하고 규칙적으로 분포하는 새로운 나노소재의 개발과 비휘발성, 고속 동작, 고집적도, 저전력 소자의 공정기술이 요구되고 있다. 또한 부유게이트에 축적되는 저장되는 전하량을 증가시키기 위한 새로운 소자구조 개발이 필요하다. 한편, 실리 사이드 계열의 나노입자는 금속 나노입자와 달리 현 실리콘 기반의 반도체 공정에서 장점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 화합물 중에서 비휘발성 메모리 장치의 전기적 특성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 실리사이드 계열의 바나듐 실리사이드(V3Si) 박막을 열처리 과정을 통하여 수 nm 크기의 나노입자로 제작하였다. 소자의 제작은 p-Si기판에 실리콘산화막 터널층(5 nm 두께)을 건식 산화법으로 성장 후, 바나듐 실리사이드 금속박막을 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터 시스템을 이용하여 4~6 nm 두께로 터널 베리어 위에 증착하고, 그 위에 초고진공 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 SiO2 컨트롤 산화막층 (20 nm)을 형성시켰다. 여기서 V3Si 나노입자 형성을 위해 급속 열처리법으로 질소 분위기에서 800$^{\circ}C$로 5초 동안 열처리하여 하였으며, 마지막으로 열 기화 시스템을 통하여 알루미늄 전극(직경 200 ${\mu}m$, 두께 200 nm)을 증착하여 소자를 제작하였다. 제작된 구조는 금속 산화막 반도체구조를 가지는 나노 부유게이트 커패시터이며, 제작된 시편은 투사전자현미경을 이용하여 나노입자의 크기와 균일성을 확인했다. 소자의 전기적인 측정을 E4980A capacitor parameter analyzer와 Agilent 81104A pulse pattern generator system을 이용한 전기용량-전압 측정을 통해 전하저장 효과 및 메모리 동작 특성들을 분석하고, 열처리 조건에 따라 형성되는 V3Si 의 조성을 엑스선 광전자 분광법을 이용하여 확인하였다.

A Case Study on the Practical Use of PDA for Panel Survey (패널조사에서 PDA 활용 사례연구)

  • A survey method in Korea has being developed rapidly since a survey company was established in 1968. In latest, the CATI, internet survey, Notebook, PDA survey methods are being utilized in accordance with communication development. This article focuses on the practical use and the strength and weakness of the PDA survey solution which employs 'KISS' system designed by KRIVET itself. The survey using PDA has, on the one hand, such strengths as follows : 1) efficient field control, 2) reduction of time for verifying data and generation of proper data 3) shortening survey duration from intial survey to data completion, 4) cutting down survey personnel and cost. On the other hand, survey using PDA has the following weakness: 1) limitation of questionnaire expression, 2) increasing time for survey, 3) communication barrier in some regions.

  • We introduce a piece of special-purpose equipment for responding to disasters that has a dual-arm manipulator consisting of six-axis multi joints, and a master-slave operating system controlled by a wearable joystick for intuitive and convenient operation. However, due to the complexity and diversity of a disaster environment, training and suitable training means are needed to improve the interaction between the driver and equipment. Therefore, in this paper, a system that can improve the operator's immersion in the training simulation is proposes, this system is implemented in a virtual environment. The implemented system consists of a cabin installed with the master-slave operation system, a motion platform, visual and sound systems, as well as a real-time simulation device. This whole system was completed by applying various techniques such as a statistical mapping method, inverse kinematics, and a real-time physical model. Then, the implemented system was evaluated from a point of view of the appropriateness of the mapping method, inverse kinematics, the feasibility for real-time simulations of the physical environment through some task mode.

  • Healthcare application system has been actively researched to apply WSN technology to healthcare area with a mobile sensor node of low cost, low power, and small size. Sensor node has the problem for transmission range of RF power and time delay of the wireless routing connectivity between sensor nodes. In this paper, we proposes a new method utilizing mobile sensor nodes with relay sensor nodes for quick network routing changing using query technique in healthcare system. A query processor to control and manage the routing changing of sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network was designed and implemented. The user's PC transmits the beacon message which will change the quick link routing according to activity status of patient in wireless sensor network. We describe the implementation for query protocol that is very effective of power saving between sensor nodes.

In addition, is increasing rapidly for the number of the product on cleaning robot and refrigerator, air conditioning, TV, etc. these devices are using the implement up DLNA system. And at home and abroad for development and has provided with Iot and Alljoyn such systems. But currently using home appliances or electronic devices of there are a lot of the operating system non installed than the installed products. In addition, smart appliances do not use for user than buying existing electronic products a lot more. In addition, more occur for smart appliances of that do not use for the user on smart appliances rather than buying existing electronics. In this paper, Suggested and implemented for system of control such as smart devices to existed home appliance on not have an operating system, Using mobile device for want users to quantify the data to transfer from arduino board.

Modeling of MR Damper Landing Gear Considering Incompletely Developed Fluid Flow (불완전 발달 유체 유동을 고려한 MR댐퍼 착륙장치 모델링)

  • A semi-active MR damper landing gear is a damper that generates a fluid damping force and a magnetic field control damping force when the MR fluid passes through annular flow paths. In the case of MR fluid passing through annular flow paths, an incompletely developed flow inevitably occurs, causing an error in calculating damper inner forces including the fluid damping force. This error results in an inaccurate design of damper structural parameters and control gain selection, resulting in deterioration of dynamic characteristics and shock absorption performance of the landing gear. In this paper, we derived a mathematical model of an MR damper landing gear considering additional damping force generated in the entrance region of annular flow paths of the MR damper. If the mathematical modeling derived from this paper is applied to the design and optimization process of an MR damper landing gear, excellent performance of the MR damper landing gear is expected.
