An Analysis of Character Customization System for Motion Sensing Game (체감형 게임의 캐릭터 커스터마이징 디자인 시스템 분석)

  • With the spread of COVID-19 and restrictions on outdoor exercise, the number of users using motion sensing games indoors is increasing. An avatar-type character design customization system on behalf of gamers is one of the important research topics for developers in that it can increase the game's appeal to gamers. In this paper, a motion sensing game with high sales volume and character customization is selected as a game analysis case. Through the analysis of the character customization system of the three selected games, important elements of the customization system were extracted. Finally, the shortcomings of the motion sensing game character customization system were derived, and improvement plans were presented for the selection system, transformation system, and partial system. It is expected that this proposal will serve as a reference for designing a motion sensing game character customization system in the future.

  • This paper mainly focuses on an empirical study for performance analysis which is caused by customizing of ERP systems. To conduct this study, four companies are selected in Korea and China, two companies for each country. This paper actually considers four factors for performance analysis of ERP adoption such as financial performance, user satisfaction, competitiveness, and ERP systems adoption, and the analysis of utilization performance is based on nine factors in terms of customizing of ERP systems. As a result of the analyzed results, we conduct comparison analysis about ERP systems customizing of the companies in Korea and China and suggest how to optimally customize for successful ERP systems adoption and application.

  • Customizing system is known as an important factor which affects not only purchase, loyalty and immersion of the user. In this study, we explore the concept of character-customizing system in the early stage of a game; on the basis of it, we compare cases by analyzing and schematizing certain types of systems which many games stick to. Customizing system types are divided into a basic case and a differentiated convergence case; based on it, they are classified into four types: Realistic, Creation, Individual, Additional; plus, another customizing system case out of games is also analyzed. To improve customer loyalty, a system like a differentiated case that attracts user participation is essential. Through a variety of character customization convergence cases shown in this study, we expect them to be used as game production guides. By enlarging the range of the study, we expect further studies to cover more cases.

  • Character customization means a series of processes to build a characters. Mobile character customizing system is very scarce than Online RPG system qualitatively or quantitatively. In this paper, I will propose some effective elements about A DIY character system that must be suitable for the mobile environment system. The reasons why Select System is mainly used as the customizing system in RPG are as follows; First, the screen of a mobile device is small; Second, it is due to the space-time characteristics with which mobile games are played. In the middle of playing a game, a customizing system should be adopted in order for players not to feel bored. In addition, avatar's costumes should be continually updated.

The Effect of ERP Customizing on User Satisfaction and Firm Performance (ERP 시스템 도입시 커스터마이징 정도가 사용자 만족도와 조직의 경쟁우위에 미치는 영향)

  • For the successful implementation of ERP systems, it is very important to solve the issue of "misfits", that is, the gaps between the functionality offered by the ERP package and the required by the adopting organization. To solve the "misfit" issue, adapting to the new functionality has been recommended instead of customizing the ERP package. However, these claims are mostly based on case studies and anecdotal evidence with limited empirical justification. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to study the effect of ERP customizing on user satisfaction and firm performance. In this study, we also examine the differences in the effects of ERP customizing among three customizing types: modification, add-on development (to use 'user exit'), and add-on development (not to use 'user exit'). According to the empirical field study, we find no significant differences in user satisfaction and firm performance by overall customizing (total of three customizing types) level. However, we find significant differences in user satisfaction and firm performance by add-on development level. And the influences of customizing types on user satisfaction and firm performance are significantly affected by the functionality level offered by the ERP system and BPR level. These results indicate that ERP customizing may not always be the incorrect choice for solving the "misfit" issue.

  • There has been a revolutionary growth and advancement in the area of online game, though the history of online games is shorter than that of the other genre. Among the elements consisting of a game, the character customizing system has advanced poorly when compared with the other elements of a game system. The poor computer graphics technology hindered the emergence of a good quality of a character customizing system. However the need of users for the rich facial expressions together with the rapid advancement of the computer graphic technology have driven the customizing system to provide a high degree of freedom to the extent that items for the face assembly could generate new profits. This paper analyzed the Aion Customizing System based on the art of physiognomy where the facial features of people are studied and analyzed, in order to make various personalized characters to the extent of increased freedom. According to our design, the more sophisticated and complex and subtle character customization system can be devised following the proposed design.

  • This study was conducted as follows. First, the game character design elements have been arranged so that the player's personality can be reflected in the character customizing. Second, the importance of design elements in mobile games and video games was derived through AHP. Third, through the difference in importance, the direction of character customizing improvement was suggested. External appearance in mobile games and the action in video games is evaluated as overwhelmingly important. Therefore, it is necessary to diversify the appearance in mobile games and the action in video games.

  • 국내에 ERP패키지 시스템이 도입된지도 10여년이 지나 현재 많은 기업이 ERP를 구축 운영중이며 향후에도 많은 기업이 ERP를 구축할 것으로 예상된다. 해외에서 개발된 패키지를 국내에 도입하다 보니 국내 실정에 맞지 않는 많은 부분이 커스터마이징되고 있다. 이러한 커스터마이징은 ERP 개발 기간을 길게 하고 많은 비용을 초래하며 또한 실제 운영 시에도 과다한 유지 보수 비용을 발생시키는 등 적지 않은 부담을 안겨 주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커스터마이징과 ERP구축의 성과 지표 즉 개발기간 및 구축비용 등에 대한 상관 관계를 실 구축 사례를 통해 조사/확인하고 LG CNS의 ERP 구축 및 운영 경험을 토대로 커스터마이징을 줄일 수 있는 방안에 대한 아이디어를 제시하고자 한다.

Study on Player Attitudes Regarding Gender in the MMORPG Customization Process (MMORPG 커스터마이징에서 젠더에 대한 플레이어 태도 연구)

  • The avatar gender, the basic element that constitutes the identity of the MMORPG player, can be created by the player due to the nature of the game through the system provided within the game. Thus, players exhibit a different attitude from reality regarding avatar gender. Gender customization in virtual space is an expansion of the identity in an effort to express one's identity in various ways. A number of users manage avatars with the opposite gender where it was found that male players preferred the female avatar persona. In this study, the player attitudes regarding gender was analyzed using Q methodology and the motivational factors for gender swapping and the generalization phenomenon was determined. This study will be significant as critical standards in the usability evaluation of the MMORPG customization system.

  • Through the use of Internet, we can now exchange large amount of information in quick seconds, and provide learners abundant amount of information at the same time. However, the amount of information is so large and limitless that learners cannot learn and process everyone of them. This study focuses on the Customizing learning system for personalized needs, which aims to reduce the amount of "unnecessary" information, to collect educational information of learners' needs, and also to provide useful information individually to each learners. Customizing system is designed to recognize learners' needs individually, and to analyze and collect any information based on the learning assessment. Through this system, being given only the necessary information, learners can increase their efficiency in studying and reach their study goal at the same time.
