  • The Campus Core is centered at the physical, functional and symbolic environment of a university, which is known as the top academic institution, hence it metaphorically represents not only the educational philosophy when institution first opened, but also the transformed values of the time. Today, universities are asked to actively communicate with the local community in terms of function and be remodeled as pedestrian-friendly campuses in terms of physical environment. For this reason, the study comprehends the concept of the campus core in accordance with a pedestrian-friendly environment and suggests a practical plan for campus cores of district national universities based on previous research examination. Since the purpose of the study is to suggest a change in the circulation system centered on vehicle use to transform into a pedestrian-friendly environment through a planned approach while introducing public mixed-use at the same time, the study supports the fact that it is possible to reorganize the strategy of a pedestrian-friendly circulation system and partially revise the land utilization to yield the expected outcomes. Thus, this study will provide valid suggestions for similar maintenance plans while looking back to the meaning and value of today's campus core.

  • The application traffic analysis is getting more and more challenging due to the huge amount of traffic from high-speed network link and variety of applications running on wired and wireless Internet devices. Multi-level combination of various analysis methods is desired to achieve high completeness and accuracy of analysis results for a real-time analysis system, while requires much of processing burden on the contrary. This paper proposes a novel architecture for a real-time traffic analysis system which improves the processing performance on multi-core CPU environment. The main contribution of the proposed architecture is an efficient parallel processing mechanism with multiple threads of various analysis methods. The feasibility of the proposed architecture was proved by implementing and deploying it on our campus network.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the configuration and properties of university campus cores for systematic approach and planning through space syntax based on master plans of 55 universities in Korea. The results of this study showed that: first, the campus cores were classified into 10 types through axial map analysis. They were '一 type', '二 type', 'ㄱ type', 'T type', '+ type', 'radiation type', 'grid type', 'polygon type', 'tree structure type' and 'combination type'.(table 7) The frequency of '一 type' was the highest by 27.2%, and 'radiation type' was the next by 14.5%; second, the integration value was 2.03(+ type), te90(grid type), te75(ㄱ type), te74(一 type), te67(二 type), te63(T type), te46(polygon type), te347(tree structure type) and te343(radiation type).(table 9) We could categorize the 'radiation type' and the 'tree structure type' as the first group, the 'polygon type' as the second group, the 'T type', the '二 type', the '一 type', and the 'ㄱ type' as the third group, the 'grid type' as the fourth group, the '+ type' as the fifth group; third, cases that the integration value of access road was very low(58.2%) was much more frequent than that of very high(32.7%); fourth, the most important space in the campus core were as follows: library and media center(18.1%), administration buildings and headquarters(15.7%), student center(15.7%), lecturing building(13.9%), streets and squares(13.3%).

  • The university administration building is one of the most important structure in campuses in terms of its functional roll providing all the institutional services and its symbolic value that represents the school. But we can still find many universities carrying on without administration buildings, And even though in the cases that have their own administration buildings, the architectural qualities of the buildings often can not meet the basic requirements for a worthwhile administration building. Because of its complex and complicated nature, planning and designing university administrative facilities are not an easy task to be successful. This study aims to provide the basic directions in designing university administration building through the survey of the facilities in the existing campuses.

  • Just as social welfare facilities and system are the barometers of a nation's quality & standard of living, the facilities of student's union building symbolizes level of welfare facilities and systems of a university. A university is a group of individuals searching for and studying the truth, so it is the highest of all education centers. At the same time, a university builds one's character. this infers that leisure activity in a university is a condition that facilitates the ability to create a healthy body and healthy soul. Additionally, active experiences for a human social life take people away from daily stresses and release the tensions of university studies. Therefore, a university campus should be built not only for students researching and studying, but also to aid in the growth of a students body, soul and mind. When creating a university master plan, increasing the number of students, promotion of a good educational environment and preparation of students for future development should be of primary consideration. There are several factors to aid this. The factors are; the academic plan, leisure activity, the belief system of university student and physical and environmental factors. The research presented here tells us the most important factor for developing the master plan of a student's union building

  • The compressive strength of concrete varies depending on various factors. Among them, based on the curing temperature, the KCS 14 20 10 Standard Specification for General Concrete calculates the nominal strength by applying the temperature correction value (Tn) based on the compressive strength of the standard cured concrete at 20±2℃ when designing the formulation strength. However, Tn is a correction value that considers only the temperature, and the correction of strength difference due to heat of hydration is not applied. Therefore, in this study, one-component and two-component concrete are mixed in the summer, structural concrete are manufactured, standard concrete specimen are manufactured, and coring is performed on the central and boundary parts of the structural concrete to calculate the correction value applied to the nominal strength by comparing the compressive strength of standard cured concrete on the 28th day of curing and the compressive strength of structural concrete on the 91st day of curing.

  • The effects of austempering temperature, austenitizing temperature and time, added copper content and prior heat-treatment on the processing window of 3.6wt%C-2.5wt%Si ductile cast iron during austempering. The maximum processing window was obtained at 350℃ of austempering temperature. The processing window was increased with increased austenitizing temperature from 850 to 900℃; however, it decreased at 950℃. The processing window was increased with increased austenitizing time from 0.5 to 2 hours and rather decreased for 4 hours. The optimum condition of austenitizing was obained at 900℃ for 2 hours. The processing window was increased with copper content added in the range of 0.0~0.8wt%. The processing window was increased by prior normalizing heat-treatment and decreased by prior annealing in comparison with that for the as-cast state,
