The card-based user interface is one of the easiest navigation methods for smart phones, and many of the contents have recently been exposed as cards. In this paper, we have dealt with the definitions of cards and the components of cards used in smart phones. The card can play multimedia including various images and media, and serves as an entry point into detailed contents through the arrangement of buttons or actions. The card UI had different characteristics depending on the type, if it could be classified into basic type, timeline type, workflow type, and dashboard type. The basic type and the timeline type were not suitable for the hierarchy and order of information, and they were suitable for providing large contents. The workflow type was not significantly different from the amount of content, horizontal content arrangement was possible, and the dashboard type was analyzed to be suitable for providing various data as graph or number.

With the extension of the average life span and the rapid aging of the population, defining elderly population as a single group is difficult as the physical, economic and social conditions of individual have become different. Therefore, policies that take into account the characteristics of each group are required. The purpose of this study is to classify individual travel types and to analyze the characteristics of each travel type, based on individual public transportation trajectory data as known as smart card data. Among the four classified types, the long-distance low-frequency stay type and the short-range medium-frequency mobile type show external activity traffic characteristics for retirement leisure, while the long-distance high-frequency stay type and the long-distance high-frequency mobile group include regular commuting. Traffic variability and residence areas of stay were identified in terms of each classified travel type. The results of this study provide the important suggestions for establishing a transportation policy that takes into account the characteristics of each type of elderly population in Seoul.

As today's information environment changes rapidly with the development of information technology, users expect a variety of the library services that meet their emerging needs. This paper reports the concept of reciprocal borrowing and analyzes the cases of reciprocal borrowing programs in the US. Particularly, this paper introduces (1) three cases of state-wide library cards such as Georgia's PINES card, Maryland's MPower card, and Michigan's Michi card. (2) Public library systems in the U.S. also are introduced as a type of reciprocal borrowing. Another type of reciprocal borrowing mentioned in this paper was (3) an mutual agreement between and among libraries. The author sought the deeper understanding of reciprocal borrowing by mapping the cases described in this paper into three models of reciprocal borrowing Kwak et al.(2010) suggested. This paper concludes with a few important considerations in implementing reciprocal borrowing services in Korea.

The demands of IC card payment system has been increased according to the rapid advancement of the IT convergence application technologies. Recently IC card payment systems are in demands of the usage space at anytime and anywhere by developing the wireless communication technology and its related multimedia processing technology. Therefore the security of IC card payment system becomes more important and necessary. There are many fault analysis methods to evaluate the security and safety of information systems according to their characteristics and usages. However, the only assessment method to evaluate the security of information systems is not enough to analyse properly on account of the various types and characteristics of information systems by the progress of IT convergence and their applications. Therefore, this paper proposes an integrative method of the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Fault Modes and Effect Analysis/Criticality (FMEA/C) based on criticality to evaluate and improve the security of IC card payment system as an illustration.

This paper examines consumer problems and issues of credit card use. The cases of credit card problems were from a civil consumer organization called Green Consumers Network in Korea. This paper focused on over five concerns, including credit card issuing, lost or stolen card settlements, vendor fee charging to customer, withholding payment in case of unsatisfactory purchases, and abusive debt collecting practices. Some solutions for the consumer problems were suggested.

The purpose of this paper is to correspond to four-elements in astrology theory, an intellectual from ancient times, that show personality temperament among MBTI, a representative personality type test in modern times, furthermore, by examining 16 personality type cards in tarot, a play culture and fortune telling culture in which the four-element theory is integrated in symbols, it is a comparative consideration that connects the characteristics of the character types contained in them to the 16 personality types of MBTI. The four preferred types of MBTI are Extravesion(E) and Introversion(I), Sensing(S) and Intuition(N), Thinking(T) and Feeling(F), Judgment(J) and Perception(P). Among them, Western four-elements were able to respond to Fire, Water, Air, and Earth in the order of NF(iNtuitive Feeling Type), SF(Sensory Feeling Type), NT(iNtuitive Thinking Type), and ST(Sensory Thinking Type). This is a result that can be derived by comparing individual personality theory and MBTI temperament theory among the symbols contained in ancient astrological theories. And the classification of boys, knights, queens, and kings in the four classes of person cards could be divided according to the MBTI attitude index. The boy showed an adaptive introvert using I and P, the knight showed an adaptive extrovert using E and P, the queen showed a decisive introvert using I and J, and the king showed an adaptive extrovert using E and J.

In the recent field of education, they open career-related curriculums either as formal curricular programs or extracurricular programs as highlighting value of career education. However, this lecture-based career education has failed to attract students' interest, and results are not satisfactory either. Since then, in order to design entertaining career education, the field has developed diverse tools and as a vocational aptitude testing tool for career development, methods that would use vocational cards were introduced. Today, schools from elementary school to middle and high schools frequently make use of the cards to conduct the vocational aptitude test and yet, as this web-based learning and smartphones are distributed, changes in the testing tool are being intensely demanded. This study aims to create and implement an application to help the vocational cards-using vocational aptitude test targeting students in elementary, middle and high schools to be actually conducted in a mobile platform.

Credit cards are becoming an important marketing tool that reveals brand identity beyond payment methods. The purpose of this study is to suggest an effective design strategy plan by analyzing credit card design case that provided a positive brand experience among the cases of implementing the brand identity of a domestic credit card. The design of a representative credit card brand in Korea was analyzed according to Schmidt's experience type. As a result of analysis, when designing a credit card, it maximizes the visual effect with colors suitable for each theme, presents a multi-faceted experience that stimulates the five senses of the consumer, and provides an active brand experience that can reminisce the benefits of a credit card. It was found to be effective in revealing the brand identity. This study is meaningful in that local credit card companies offer design directions that can positively imprint brands on consumers through credit card designs.

This study aimed at developing a set of question cards for fostering deep understanding and encouraging reasoning about fossils and analyze the characteristics of visitors' communication depending on whether to use the question cards in a fossil gallery. Through several steps, a card set consisted of nine generic questions about fossil exhibitions and guidance for using question cards were developed. Data related to visitors' communications were collected from 18 peer groups (from 5th to 9th grade) visiting the fossil gallery of Gwacheon National Science Museum. Visiting groups' interactions were videotape recorded and transcribed. 'Holding time,' the types of 'actions,' and the types of 'conversation' were analysed. Visitors' actions were divided into three categories: ‘look’, 'speech', and 'motion.' Furthermore, visitors' conversations categorized as 'speech' were subdivided into four patterns: 'enumerative,' 'consensual,' 'responsive,' and 'argumentative.' Using the question cards contributes to increase holding time and most of the visiting actions. Most of the conversation patterns also increased except the responsive pattern. In conclusion, using question cards in a fossil gallery could facilitate concentrated and meaningful visits by enhancing active verbal and non-verbal communications between exhibit and visitor or among visitors, encouraging visitors' reasoning about exhibits, and guiding visitors what and how to focus on exhibits.
