Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance (YBA) of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in a trigeminal neuralgia case. One Trigeminal neuralgia case was managed with YBA on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was performed by subjective rating and clinical observations. The patient's subjective rating and clinical symptoms showed improvement immediately after the initial treatment and this improvement maintained over the follow-up period. Although it is not clear whether the effect is temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

The effect of acupuncture that occurs at Meridians, can not be defined by western science. But we can find out the electrical effects when acupuncturing by measuring the charges meridians electric potential. So instead of using a needle to acupuncture, we used a electromagnet to give the same effect. We stimulated the meridians, with a electromagnet. Then we observed the pattern of the meridians potential, that occurred at ST-39 and ST-37. After doing clinical experiments with the acupuncture stimulation and the electromagnet stimulation. We found out the acupuncture stimulation and the electromagnet stimulations electric waves were similar. From this result, we knew it was possible to give similar effects to acupuncture stimulation by using electromagnets.

Hemangiopericytoma of the lung is a very rare malignant tumor despite it's high vasculities of the lung, because, this tumor arises from the pericytes enveloping capillaries. A pulmonary hemangiopericytoma was diagnosed in a 63-year-old female who had complained of cough, sputum, and intermittent chest pain for about 8 years. She was admitted to our hospital, because of progressive severe dyspnea on exertion and orthopnea for about 3 months. She was taken explothoracotomy and left pneumonectomy including evacuation of lots of blood clots due to ruptured large tumor and ineffective drainage with closed thoracic tube. She was discharged at post-operative 7 days under very good condition. She has been treated with radiotherapy&chemotherapy since then.

Objectives : To report the patient suspected chronic arsenic intoxication after Korean medicine treatment. Methods : One patient with highly suspected chronic arsenic intoxication was selected. He was suspected to be chronic arsenic intoxication because symptoms and hair heavy metals test. Acupuncture was applied for twice a day and herbal medicine(Pyeonghyeol-eum) was administered in 28 days. Evaluation method applied to xeroderma, pruritus, psoriasis were overall dry skin score(ODS), visual analogue scale(VAS), pruritus grading system(PGS). Results : Pyeonghyeol-eum, acupuncture and the other Korean medicine treatments improved xeroderma, pruritis, psoriasis after 28 days of treatment. ODS decreased from 3 to 2. VAS of Pruritus decreased from 8 to 1. PGS decreased from 15 to 4. Adverse effects were not reported. Conclusions : This study shows that the Korean medicine treatment was effective in impoving symptoms of chronic arsenic intoxication. But the additional study will be conducted for revealing dermatitis caused by chronic arsenic intoxication.

In general, the function limitation of the burned hand is determined by the thermal injury; however, infection, pressure necrosis, inactivity, poor positioning, subsequent scarring and contractures are intimately related to functional disability. The goal of treatment of the burned hand is the prevention of deformities and maintainance of function. Objective : This study of the Acupuncture therapeutic effect on the burned hand will suggest another treatment plan for the more effective therapy. Methods : To heal the burned hand, we used Acupuncture therapy as Banja-technic(半刺法) Moja-technic(毛刺法). Results & Conclusions : Authors reviewed 1 patient who had received only Acupuncture treatment for the burned hand. The burned hand of the patient was healed in about 11 days by only Acupuncture treatment.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of korean medical treatments on prurigo nodularis. Methods : We treated a 37-year-old female prurigo nodularis patient who has failed to respond to conventional therapies such as steroids and anti-histamines for 8 years. The patient was admitted to Daejeon University korean medical hospital for 21 days to get korean medical treatments including acupuncture, herbal-medicine, vapor treatment, venesection, pharmacopuncture and herbal-med aerosol therapy. The degree of improvement in prurigo nodularis was determined by the patient's subjective opinions on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Results : The results of this patient showed distinct improvements on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Pruritus decreased from 10 to 1, febrile sensation from 10 to 0, pain from 10 to 2, and sleeping hours increased 2 hours to 8 hours according to the patient's subjective opinions. Conclusions : This study shows the possibility that such korean medical treatments can improve prurigo nodularis.

Objective : Therapeutic effect of Balance Appliance of functional cerebrospinal technique (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in one neck pain case. Method : A neck pain one case with 3 months of duration was managed by the Balance Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture and manual medicine. Results : Assessment was made by self assessment of subjective symptoms and clinical observation. The patient reported over-90% remission and returned to ordinary daily life after 1 months of therapy. Conclusions : An impressive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

Purpose : To determine if the tumor intersitial fluid pressure (TIFP) and/or its change in patients with metastatic Iymph node in head and neck area can predict radiotherapy outcome. Materials and Methods : In 26 biopsy Proven metastatic Iymph node Patients in head and neck area with accessible by direct inspection and palpation, and of sufficient thickness (>1 cm) to permit accurate needle placement, we measured TIFP at cervical Iymph node before and during radiotherapy. Tumor size was measured clinically and radiologically. Results : The mean preradiotherapy TIFP was 24.7 mmHg. Preradiotherapy TIFP had marginally significant relationship with tumor size (p=0.06). Preradiotherapy TIFP significantly decreased when tumor size decreased (p=0.009). Preradiotherapy TIFP was not different between complete response group and group with partial or less response (p=0.75). Radiotherapy outcome was not different between group with above and group with below than average TIFP (p=0.229). TIFP decreased 36mmHg in complete response group and 29.7 mmHg in group with partial or less response. Conclusion :The mean TIFP was elevated with 24.7 mmHg. Preradiotherapy TIFP had marginally significant relationship with tumor size (p=0.06). TIFP decreased 36 mmHg in complete response group and 29.7 mmHg in group with partial or less respone but there was no statistically significant relationship in two groups.

An 11-year-old castrated male cocker spaniel presented with halitosis, anorexia, and swelling of the left face. Upon physical examination, a firm mass was detected in the left buccal mucosa. Fine needle aspiration cytology revealed a malignant tumor of mesenchymal origin. We performed biopsy, which gave a diagnosis of oral fibrosarcoma. The client refused surgical treatment, and carboplatin chemotherapy (300 $mg/m^2$, IV, q 21 days) was initiated. The mass gradually decreased in size and disappeared about 89 days after the initial chemotherapy. Complete remission was attained, and the tumor did not relapse. This case report shows that a single carboplatin chemotherapy session can achieve macroscopic complete remission of oral fibrosarcoma.

It is a method to treat pain using medication, neurotomy, and surgery. And acupuncture, ultrasound, electric treatment, and magnetic treatment are applied as a alternative physiotherapy. Electronic therapy is useful but it can be affected by impedance of skin or subcutaneous tissue. So, percutaneous stimulation is leading therapy, that is very randomly. We developed the system which can stimulate parts of acupuncture point noninvasively using the focused magnetic field. And we designed the magnetic stimulation electrode which is considered efficiency of the magnetic stimulation. It can make similar stimulation with manual acupuncture. To confirm the availability and reliability we compared Meridian Electronic Potential(MEP) change between manual acupuncture and magnetic stimulation. From this result, we found out the MEP changes of manual acupuncture and magnetic stimulation were similar. And there were various response properties as changes of stimulation method, intensity, and frequency. Also, the MEP change can be induced by electromagnetic stimulation. We confirmed that it is possible to use electromagnetic stimulation as a acupoint stimulation or pain treatment instrument.
