The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the correlations between the knowledge of, attitudes toward, and service requirements for dementia among nursing students. A descriptive study design was used. The participants were 584 nursing students attending K university. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. The mean score of dementia knowledge was low($15.86{\pm}4.58$). The area with the highest correct answer rate for dementia knowledge was life impact(64.2%) and the disease progression area(39.6%) was the lowest. The attitude toward dementia ($45.15{\pm}4.59$) and service requirements($89.88{\pm}9.38$) were relatively high. There were positive correlations between dementia knowledge and dementia attitude(r=.11, p=.008) and service requirements(r=.21, p<.001) and between dementia attitude and service requirements(r=.34, p<.001). Therefore, accurate knowledge of dementia was closely related to positive attitudes. In conclusion, this studyis expected to provide the basic data for the development, application and evaluation of dementia education programs for nursing students.
This study is a descriptive research conducted to provide basic resources for the production course and programs by identifying knowledge and attitudes toward dementia of nursing students and social welfare students. The participants were 451 students of nursing science and social welfare in four-year university at J-do. Data were collected from October 1, 2012 to October 20, 2012, by using structured questionnaires and analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 program. The participants showed relatively high level of knowledge. Nursing students($16.42{\pm}1.77point$, range 0~20) showed higher level of knowledge than social welfare students($16.02{\pm}2.3029point$, range 0~20)(p=.015). Both students showed relatively positive attitudes(nursing $40.48{\pm}4.29point$, social welfare $40.54{\pm}4.6229point$, range 10~50). The higher the participants' knowledge and interests in dementia, attitudes toward dementia were more positive. Based on the result, it is required to develop various education program and research to promote knowledge and attitudes toward dementia.
This study is the descriptive survey to understand the knowledge, attitude, and education needs of the university students on the dementia and to examine their relationships. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with the SPSS 20.0 for Windows Program. The rate of corrective answers on dementia was shown as 79.6%, mean attitude with 3.74 points, and mean education needs with 4.02 points. Significant positive correlations were detected between the knowledge and the attitude (r=.23, p=.005), and between the attitude and education needs (r=.61, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, it is required to make an effort to enhance the correct knowledge of the university students on dementia and to establish their positive attitude. The objective education needs proven by this study are expected to be used as the fundamental data for the development of customized education program for the university students.

This study was conducted to identify the level of knowledge, attitude, and educational needs toward dementia, as well as to understand factors influencing educational needs for dementia among nursing students. A total of 213 nursing students at three universities in C province were invited to this study from September to November in 2015. Collected data were analyzed using an independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. All analyses were conducted with SPSS 20.0 for Windows. The level of knowledge, attitude and educational needs for dementia were $12.33{\pm}4.54$ out of 20, $35.53{\pm}8.92$ out of 50 (Item mean 3.56), and $116.46{\pm}32.06$ out of 160 (Item mean 3.63), respectively. There were significant positive correlations between attitude and educational needs (r=0.79, p=<0.01). Moreover, the factors influencing educational needs for dementia in nursing students were attitude (${\beta}=0.73$, p<0.001) and grade (${\beta}=0.19$, p=0.001). Development of diverse educational programs for dementia based on this study can be a cornerstone to improve knowledge and attitudes toward dementia in nursing students. Developing nursing curriculum considering students' attitudes toward dementia and grade may also help increase knowledge of dementia.

This study is a descriptive research to analyze the factors affecting the care burden of dementia patients in the community. The data was collected from 223 dementia patients in the community for 10 days from November 30 to December 9, 2018. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in caring burden according to demographic characteristics according to the age group of the main caregivers, the relationship with dementia patients, the duration of caring for dementia patients, and the difficulty of caring for dementia patients. Had a negative correlation with dementia knowledge(r=-.145, p=.030). The factors affecting the care burden of dementia patients were as follows: dementia care period(β=.408, p=.006), difficulty in caring for dementia patients(β=-.307, p=.023), relationship with dementia patients(β=-.299, p=.013), and age group of primary caregivers of dementia patients(β=-.265, p=.007). Therefore, in order to alleviate the burden of caring for dementia patients in the community, a practical and continuous care intervention program is needed

This study was undertaken to recommend a dementia education program for college students, and to understand the outcome on knowledge and attitude towards dementia, awareness of aged support, and cognitive-affective empathy. Totally, 40 college students in C city, K do, were enrolled for the study, and divided into two groups of 20 each: experimental group and control group. The experimental group subjects were provided a 12-hour dementia education program; effectiveness of this program has been verified in later studies. Data were collected from November 5, 2018 to December 7, 2018; collection was before, after, and 4 weeks after the program was provided to the experimental group. Control group data were also collected in the same time frame. Data analysis was done using IBM SPSS WIN/21.0, and the percentage, mean and standard deviation were analyzed using Shapiro-Wilks test, $x^2$-test, Fisher's exact probability test, Independent t-test, Friedman test, Mann-Whitney U and Repeated Measure ANOVA. Knowledge of dementia (F=19.80, p<0.001), attitude toward dementia (z=-4.10, p<0.001), and awareness of aged support (F=6.26, p=0.017) had a significant interaction between group and time; however, cognitive-affective empathy showed no correlation (F=1.32, p<0.256). We therefore suggest strengthening the contents of future education program for dementia, developing a customized program for cognitive-affective empathy by considering subject characteristics, and further research verifying the effectiveness of the program.
