In Korea, only a small study based on the bibliotherapy program for responsibility promotion of at risk or alienated youth has been performed. The purpose of this proposed study is to further examine the challenges and effects of a group bibliotherapy program on alienated youth to determine the degree of success in terms of "responsibility" and/or positive results. The current research program included a relatively small sample size of 11 young people (2 boys, 9 girls) in the Suwon Youth Center from November to December, 2015. The alienated youth program consisted of 8 sessions in the correct activity center with or having levels of insight, application, and verification measured using the Lee Sang Ro et al. (1989), Developmental Responsibility Examination (Scale of Responsibility). As a result, this study will confirm that the program to raise the level of alienated youth responsibility produces positive effects. These results will provide additional theoretical rationale and implications capable for applying "responsibility" education for alienated youth to the overall field encompassing youth education. Based on this, it will be necessary to extend various identified methods in depth to achieve this overall goal.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of gardening programs using therapeutic gardens on the fall efficacy of the elderly. This study was applied to 31 elderly facility users from April to August 2019 at a nursing home P located in Gyeonggi-do. Among the 31 participants who participated in the program, 16 subjects in the experimental group and 15 subjects in the control group were randomly selected. As for the experimental group program, a fall program consisting of fall education and strength training four times a week and a horticultural occupational program were implemented once a week in a healing garden for a total of 15 weeks. The control group performed fall program for 30 minutes 5 times a week for a total of 15 weeks. The fall efficacy of the tested group increased by 5.50 points from 29points before the program to 34.50points after the program, and statistically significant results were obtained (p=0.000). The control group who only progressed the fall program increased 3.63 points from 28.87points before the trial to 32.50points after the trial, and statistically significant results were obtained (p=0.000). From this result, it can be confirmed that the horticultural program using the treatment garden has the potential as a program related to falls. In the future, various studies are needed so that gardening programs using gardens can be applied to prevent falls of the elderly.

Objective : The purpose of the study is to find out how group sensory integrative (SI) intervention enhances play skill and social interaction of the children with sensory integration disorders. Method : Three children who were showing problems related in sensory integration received 12 SI intervention sessions. The Sensory Profile (SP) and The Social Maturity Scale (SMS) were accomplished by the subject's primary caregiver. Test of Playfulness (ToP) and Peer Social Interactions Rating Scale (PSIRS) were utilized to investigate the children's play skills and social interactions with their friends. Goal Attainment Scale (GAS) is applied to assess the children's play skill, social interactions with peer, and sensory processing at each session. Data was collected before- and after the intervention and analyzed by the Wilcoxon matched-pair signed rank test with SPSS/WIN version 10.0 and Microsoft Excel. Results : The average scores of ToP, PSIRS, and SMS were increased after the sensory integrative intervention. However, there is no significant difference in the play skills and social interactions between data of pre-intervention and the one of post-intervention. The score of the GAS was frequently increased in terms of the play skills and sensory processing throughout the whole sessions. Conclusions : This study reveals a possibility of that the group sensory integrative intervention may affect not only sensory processing ability, but also play skills and social interactions of children experiencing difficulties of sensory processing. Future research should supplement limitations of this study regarding insufficient number of the subject and the short period of the experiment.
The purpose of this study is to apply a probation and tea culture therapy convergence program developed for the self-esteem improvement and recidivism prevention of sex offenders supervised by GPS electronic monitoring(wearing electronic anklet). The results from quantitative analysis indicate that the self-esteem of participants are significantly improved.
The parents of cerebral palsy children are identified as special individual with responsibilities and roles beyond those of other parents. Physical therapist often direct their attention to the cerebrel palsy child without supporting. teaching or appreciating the parent. As parents are the most influential factor in the child's development and because parents generally have a need to be incorporated in their child's treatment and education. education regarding treatment is essential for the parent. Parents tend to seek information about their child's disability and desire accurate. Straight foreward and complete information about their child. Parent groups are advantageous organizations in that they provide mutual support and emotional and social outlets. While learning to accept a disabled child. parents must deal with additional stressful events which occur when community involvement with the cerebral palsy child begins. The parents are immediately thrust into new roles as they come into contact with medical specialists, physical therapist or other parents of disabled children. These events contribute to a psychological stress. sense of loss and lowing of selfesteem.

Data were analysed by using Mann-Whinety U test, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks, Cohen's d with SPSS(PASW)18.0 program. Result: Significant differences were found in scores for reading ability (z=-2.668, p=.008, ES(d)=0.6) and writing ability (z=-2.670, p=.008, ES(d)=0.5) in experimental group. Conclusion: The results indicate that the reading and writing abilities improvement program should be used with elementary school children of multicultural families to help them and to improve their reading and writing abilities.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the home-based virtual reality (VR) on upper extremity motor function in hemiparetic stroke patients. Two matched subjects with left hemiplegia were volunteered to participate in this study. One subject received the home-based VR whereas the other subject recovered a modified home-based constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT). Both interventions were given for 4 hours x 5 times a week for 4 weeks. Outcome measures included Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Motor Activity Log (MAL), and Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT). The VR-trained subject showed considerable improvement in all the tested motor functions when compared with the home-based CIMT. Specifically, the FMA measure demonstrated that the VR subject showed 17% enhancement whereas the CIMT subject showed 5% increase. Similarly, Amount of Use (AOU) and Quality of Movement (QOM) of the MAL scores of the VR subject showed 40% and 20% increase whereas the CIMT subject showed 0% and 20% increase, respectively. The WMFT scores of the VR subject and CIMT subject showed 20% increase. Our home-based VR was effective in upper extremity motor recovery of chronic hemiparetic patients even when compared with the well-established CIMT approach in stroke victims.
This study was conducted to find out the effects of visiting companion dog program on people with chronic mental disability. Visiting companion dog program was carried out for one hour every week for about three months between January and March of 1997 for chronic schizophrenic patients with severe negative symptoms and evaluated by the treatment team as those who are incapable of participating in any other program aside from medication. In order to measure the effects of the program PANSS: Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale was conducted by two trained evaluators. The results showed that there was a statistically significant decrease in scores of negative symtoms and general psypathological symtoms. Moreover, scaling scores reported by the nurses and occupational therapist also reveal that the patients show positive changes such as improvement in conversational interaction and facial expressions. Such results evidence that companion animals can have positive emotional and mental influence on people with chronic mental disability. Furthermore the fact that the visiting companion dog program became a program that the chronically mentally disabled who could not participate in any other program can easily participate and enjoy is a meaningful finding in and of itself.
