  • This research surveyed, from 17 March 2008 to 25 March 2008, 261 students, 1,2,3 grade, who study in the a dental laboratory technology of college placed in Suwon. We sent them out each three questionnaire and surveyed their family and friends including themselves. We got back 584 paper out of 783 paper which we sent out and used as data of analysis. When choosing a dental clinic, we used a Pearson Correlation to understand a relation of variables connected with a medical service. The result showed that every each fields have a positive correlation and especially a correlation between a physical environment and an ability of dentist is showed most highly and a correlation between a basic element of clinic and a traffic convenience is showed a meaningful positive in that order.

  • Clinical crown lengthening procedure would be an effective method for overcoming adverse clinical condition such as short abutment length. There are three kinds of methods in clinical crown lengthening, those are, surgical crown lengthening, orthodontic extrusion and surgical extrusion. Clinicians have to try their best to choose a proper method among those for favorable results. This report aims to review the considerations in each method with various cases and to suggest a decision flow for appropriate selection.

  • There are very few reports of the restoration of tooth loss using dental implants in patients with diffuse sclerosing osteomyelitis (DSO). Because the patients with DSO have unfavorable bone quality for osseointegration of dental implants, additional considerations such as surgical trauma, infection control, and an extended healing period are essential when placing dental implants. The purpose of this study is to report on the success of osseointegration of a dental implant in the patient with DSO.

  • The residual alveolar ridge below the denture base undergoes physiologic changes over time, which results in the existing dentures becoming less accurate with the residual alveolar ridge. In addition, changes of the occlusal plane, decreasing in vertical dimension and loss of denture retention and facial support can occur. Consequently, denture relining may be required to accommodate these changes and ensure an ongoing close fit. Relining a denture can be performed directly on the chairside using autopolymerizing relining materials or indirectly in the laboratory using heat-cured relining materials. A direct relining method is not only simple but also time and cost effective. However, irritation or burning sensation of the mucosa can occur, and poor bonding of the relining material to the denture base can be cited as disadvantages. The indirect relining method exhibits relatively high bonding strength between the relining material and the denture base, but the patient might experience discomfort during relining process period. This report will examine the characteristics of relining materials, including those used in the relining of CAD-CAM dentures, and explore the clinical considerations for relining procedures.

  • Chronic infantile neurological cutaneous articular (CINCA) syndrome periodically causes fever along with inflammation in multiple organs. Patients with this condition are vulnerable to dental problems due to systemic inflammation. For uncooperative patients, general anesthesia has been widely used to control negative behavior. However, caution should be exercised when administering general anesthesia in these patients because this syndrome is pro-inflammatory. The present case report describes the clinical considerations of the dental treatment of an uncooperative child with CINCA syndrome who was treated under general anesthesia.

  • Denture adhesive is a material used to improve the retention and stability of the denture. And denture adhesive is divided into soluble and insoluble type. It improves the retention, stability of dentures, and masticatory functions of patients. Maintenance like cleansing and periodic follow up is essential. Almost of dental clinicians are only simply aware of the effects of denture adhesives and often rely on the manufacturer's instructions on precautions and maintenance. The purpose of this study is to examine the properties, effects, and precautions of denture adhesives, and to present clinical guidelines for patients and professionals.

  • In maxilary anteriors, aesthetic aspect are of critical importance. but it is difficult to achieve esthetic results because of the narrow buccal-lingual alveolar bone width compared to the posterior teeth and alveolar bone resorption during tooth extraction. This case report describes how to minimize alveolar bone resorption and soft tissue collapse when immediate implant placement is done after extraction of the maxillary anterior teeth due to trauma.

  • To enhance the esthetic appearance, the maxillary anterior area is important. It is possible to improve the esthetic appearance through the treatment of maxillary anterior area, which includes altering the color, form, and arrangement of teeth. When planning these treatments, clinicians should individualize personal demands, by using the information obtained from facial, dento-labial, dental, and gingival analysis. It is essential to properly prepare the gingival structure, which includes the height of gingival margin, the location of zenith, reconstruction of the interdental papillae, emergence profile, and symmetry. Clinicians often face unfavorable condition of the gingiva and the edentulous ridge, and appropriate management of the gingival structure is needed. In this case report, the patients were treated to improve the gingival conditions surrounding maxillary anterior teeth. By using conservative treatment without surgical intervention, such as application of pink porcelain, subgingival contour modelling and modification of pontic base, satisfactory esthetic results were gained.

  • The Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS) is an inherited immunodeficiency caused by a variety of mutations in the gene encoding the WAS protein (WASp). First described in 1937 by Wiskott, the incidence of WAS has so far been estimated at 4 in 106 live births. The Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome is an X-linked condition characterized by 1) an increased tendency to bleed caused by a reduced number of platelets, 2) recurrent bacterial, viral and fungal infections, and 3) eczema of the skin. The purpose of this report is to present cases highlighting the clinical features of the syndrome and the required considerations in the treatment of patients. The report consists of two particular cases: a 2-year-11-month-old boy seen for a routine oral examination prior to his bone marrow transplantation and a 2-year-6-month-old boy with herpes gingivostomatitis and teeth discoloration.
