Development and Analysis of the Autoclave Alternative Composite Material Molding Process Using a Pressure Device (가압장치를 이용한 오토클레이브 대체 복합재료 성형공정 개발 및 분석)

  • In this study, a device and pressure press process that is able to substitute autoclave process is developed. This process complements disadvantages of autoclave process which are long process-time and high production cost. The developed device provides air pressure as well as the vacuum which are greatest feature of autoclave process. The device is sealed using hydraulic pressure to keep the air pressure inside the mold. The transfer of the heat is designed to be direct. The heating and pressure charging time are decreased by reducing the interior space. Tooling cost is reduced dramatically compared to autoclave process. Spring-back phenomenon is measured and compared. The temperatures of several parts of the mold during molding are measured. The fiber volume fraction of the parts molded by autoclave process and by the developed process are compared.

Study on the characteristics of perlite insulation for the storage tank in LNG carrier (LNG선박 화물창의 펄라이트 단열재 적용성에 관한 설계 특성 연구)

  • As the LNG demands are growing, the constructions of LNG FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Off-loading) and LNG carriers have been constantly increased, and the various design of storage tank has been tried. This paper propose that the material of inner storage tanks is made of 5~9% Ni steel plate and perlite powder insulation instead of urethane foam block. It needs essentially to obtain the proper design specifications that are the pressure of perlite, the characteristics of resilient blanket as the pressure absorber, optimum thickness of blanket and design pressure of tank wall, etc. to enable the perlite insulation system to LNG carrier, The results show that the design thickness of blanket should be between 1/4 to 1/3 of insulation width and the optimum rate becomes 30%, and the design pressure be applied below 1,500 Pa with blanket thickness.

  • The ESS load test device (ELTD) can store and exchange electrical energy during the load test of an emergency generator. On the other hand, it is difficult to commercialize ELTDs based on Li-ion batteries because of the high initial cost, which is higher than a load bank test. If the trade of electrical energy stored in ELTD during the test of an emergency generator is considered, it may be possible to commercialize the ELTD. Therefore, this paper proposes an economic model of ELTD composed of the costs and benefits by considering electrical energy trade to perform accurately economic evaluations of an ELTD. From the simulation results of the economic evaluations of an ELTD and the load bank method, it was found that the commercialization of ELTD is possible when the trade in electrical energy in ELTDs is considered.

Design and Implementation of Electric Current Control Device for Ignition Coil in Spark Ignition Engine (스파크 점화기관의 점화코일 전류제어장치 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we design and implement a electric current controller for ignition coil to measure the amount of current and to supply the additional current under vehicle driving conditions in spark ignition engines. The proposed controller can provide the stable current and prevent the overcurrent by measuring the amperage of primary ignition in real time. Also it enhances the performance of vehicle engine by controling the amount of ignition energy that make power increase and fuel burn more completely. The power and torque of the normal vehicle is evaluated as performance index for the experimental validation of the control module. The experimental results using dynamometer equipment show that after control module-mounted elevates the average of 10% more in both power and torque compared with before module-mounted.

  • There are many risk factors of electrical shock caused by a minimum of protective devices, loose working environments, deterioration of installations at temporary power installations of construction sites. An insulation cover for instrument transformer(MOF) used in 22.9[kV] class power receiving system hasn't shown good performance in terms of electrical safety because of short clearance between insulation cover and each input and output wire junction part. The insulation cover is easily moved by outside environment as wind or rain because of different size between insulation cover and busing, also can be leaded to breakdown by tracking. Therefore, we have proposed the insulation cover which effectively can prevent from electrical disaster in this paper, and a utility model patent had been registered already. To decrease the electric field concentrated on specific part, we had roundly designed the shape of insulation cover and the clearance between cover and live part was adjusted to be longer than the existing thing. The proposed insulation cover was evaluated by using the electric field solution program.

An Energy Efficient Routing Scheme for Cluster-based WSNs (클러스터 기반 WSN에서 에너지 효율적인 라우팅 기법)

  • WSN, or Wireless Sensor Network, consists of a multitude of inexpensive micro-sensors. Because the batteries in sensor nodes can not be replaced once they are deployed, the life of a WSN is absolutely determined by the batteries. So, energy efficiency of a network is a critical factor for long-life operation. LEACH protocol which divides WSN into two groups is a typical routing protocol based on the clustering scheme for the efficient use of limited energy. It is composed of round units which are separated into set-up and steady state. In this paper we propose a power saving scheme to minimize set-up phase itself and to involve a data comparison algorithm. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in comparison with original LEACH protocol. Simulation results validate our scheme has better performance in terms of the number of alive nodes as time evolves and average energy dissipated.

  • 모바일 정보통신기기를 중심으로 실장모듈의 초소형화, 고집적화로 인해 접속단자의 피치가 점점 미세화 됨에 따라 플립칩 본딩용 접착제에 함유되는 무기충전제인 실리카 필러의 크기도 미세화되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 NCP (non-conductive paste)의 실리카 필러의 크기가 COB(chip-on-board) 플립칩 패키지의 신뢰성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 실험에 사용된 실리카 필러는 Fused silica 3 종과 Fumed silica 3종이며 response surface 실험계획법에 따라 혼합하여 최적의 혼합비를 정하였다. 테스트베드로 사용된 실리콘 다이는 투께 $700{\mu}m$, 면적 5.2$\times$7.2mm로 $50\times50{\mu}m$ 크기의 Au 도금범프를 $100{\mu}m$ 피치, peripheral 방식으로 형성시켰으며, 기판은 패드를 Sn으로 finish 하였다. 기판을 플라즈마 전처리 후 Panasonic FCB-3 플립칩 본더를 이용하여 플립칩 본딩을 수행하였다. 패키지의 신뢰성 평가를 위해 $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}80^{\circ}C$의 열충격시험과 $85^{\circ}C$/85%R.H.의 고온고습시험을 수행하였으며 Die shear를 통한 접합 강도와 4-point probe를 통한 접속저항을 측정하였다.

  • It is very important to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks by using their limited energy efficiently, since it is not possible to change or recharge the battery of sensor nodes after deployment. LEACH protocol is a typical routing protocol based on the clustering scheme for the efficient use of limited energy. It is composed of a few clusters, which consist of head nodes and member nodes. Though LEACH starts from the supposition that all nodes have data transferred to a head, there must be some nodes having useless data in actual state. In this paper we propose a power saving scheme by making a member node dormant if previous sensed data and current data is same. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in comparison with original clustering algorithms. Simulation results validate our scheme has better performance in terms of the number of alive nodes as time evolves.

  • The multi-stage catalytic igniter for hybrid rocket auto ignition is described in this paper. After charging the catalyst and pre-heating the first stage, the $N_2O$ was supplied at the first stage with the low mass flow rate, and then the $N_2O$ with the high flow rate was supplied into the second stage. Even though the $N_2O$ flow rate was high, it was decomposed by supplying the high temperature gas which was evolved from the $N_2O$ decomposition in the first stage. This multi-stage ignitor resulted in the decrease of the ignition time in comparison with the previous ignitor, and confirmed the possibility of $N_2O$ decomposition with the high flow rate using the multi-stage catalytic-ignition system.

  • This paper deals with the development of the safety lancet and the electric lancing device. The safety lancet, in which a needle and a protective cap become one body, is designed. It is to prevent the secondary contamination by needlestick injury because the needle is always in the protective cap except for a moment of blood-gathering. The electric lancing device powered by batteries is devised to be operated by the moving rod of solenoid hitting the lancet. and to be used after selecting the repeat or the single hitting mode. The impact force by a hitting rod, the expected life of battery and etc. are measured for product development. This lancing device can be also used for the bloodletting device of the oriental medicine.
