An Effective BECN Typed QoS Guaranteeing Mechanism in Optical Burst Switching Networks (광 버스트 교환망에서 BECN 방식의 효과적인 QoS 보장 방법)

  • In recent years, WDM networks have received much attention as the Internet backbone networks because of the explosive growth of the Internet IP-based traffic. The Optical Burst Switching (OBS) has been proposed as an effective optical switching technology in the WDM networks. The OBS has the advantages in 1) the high usage rate of the bandwidth, and 2) no necessity of optical buffer. However, the OBS has the burst-contention problem in the networks. The deflection routing is proposed as one of means to solve this problem. In this paper, we propose a new routing method to minimize burst loss in the deflection routing based networks. In addition, we propose a QoS control method using a new routing algorithm. Finally, we show the variety of the proposed methods by computer simulations.

  • The HIPERLAN/2(HIgh PERformance Local Area Network Type2) is one of the wireless LAN standards for providing raw data rates of up to 54 Mbps. The MAC protocol of HIPERLAN/2 is based on TDMA/TDD, and resources in one MAC frame can be allocated dynamically by Access Point(AP). The random channel(RCH) is defined for the purpose of giving a mobile terminal the opportunity to request transmission resources in the uplink MAC frames. It is desirable that the number of RCHs is dynamically adapted by the AP depending on the current traffic situation. Allocation of excessive RCHs may waste radio resources and insufficient RCHs compared to traffic loads may result in many collisions in access attempts. We propose an RCH allocation scheme based on split algorithm in HIPERLAN/2. The simulation and analytic results show that the proposed scheme achieves a higher channel throughput, lower access delay and delay jitter than previously proposed RCH allocation schemes.

Two Version Latch Technique for Metadata Management of Documents in Digital Library (전자 도서관에서 문서의 메타데이타 관리를 위한 2 버전 래치 기법)

  • Recently, a major issue in the research of metadata is the standardization of metadata format. The new extension capability of metadata in the standardization requires some changes - storing and managing dynamic data consistently. In this paper, we define the characteristics of new metadata and propose a concurrency control called Two Version Latch (2VL). 2VL uses a latch and maintains two versions. Maintaining two versions using latch minimizes conflicts between read operation and write operation. The removal of unnecessary lock holding minimizes refresh latency. Therefore, this algorithm presents fast response time and recent data retrieval in read operation execution. As a result of the performance evaluation, the 2VL algorithm is shown to be better than other algorithms in metadata management system.

A Reliable Broadcast Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 신뢰적 브로드캐스팅 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new reliable broadcast protocol referred to as timer-based reliable broadcast (TRB) for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The proposed TRB scheme exploits (1) bitmap based explicit ACK to effectively reduce the unnecessary error control messages and (2) randomized timer for ACK transmission to substantially reduce the possibility of contentions. Although it has been argued that 100% reliability is not necessary in WSNs, there should be messages (such as mission-critical message, task assignment, software updates, etc.) that need to be reliably delivered to the entire sensor field. We propose to use the TRB algorithm for such cases. Performance evaluation shows that the TRB scheme achieves 100 % reliability significantly better than other schemes with expense of slightly increased energy consumption.

  • Recently, research are being conducted to provide an automated environment utilizing various sensors in a place where management is use. However, in an existing automation system environment because the measured sensor data is processed in a batch in the server, than the currently action task there arises a problem that a conflict occurs between task when a task that should operate preferentially occurs. In this paper, we propose a system that provides automation using Sensor Data Identification Algorithm to solve these problems. The algorithm distinguishes between real-time and non-real-time tasks and automatically control tasks what happens after priority is applied. Through this, it is expected that it can reduce manager intervention and reduce unnecessary work operation and power consumption and construct an efficient automation environment.

Learning of Fuzzy Rules Using Fuzzy Classifier System (퍼지 분류자 시스템을 이용한 퍼지 규칙의 학습)

  • In this paper, we propose a Fuzzy Classifier System(FCS) makes the classifier system be able to carry out the mapping from continuous inputs to outputs. The FCS is based on the fuzzy controller system combined with machine learning. Therefore the antecedent and consequent of a classifier in FCS are the same as those of a fuzzy rule. In this paper, the FCS modifies input message to fuzzified message and stores those in the message list. The FCS constructs rule-base through matching between messages of message list and classifiers of fuzzy classifier list. The FCS verifies the effectiveness of classifiers using Bucket Brigade algorithm. Also the FCS employs the Genetic Algorithms to generate new rules and modify rules when performance of the system needs to be improved. Then the FCS finds the set of the effective rules. We will verify the effectiveness of the poposed FCS by applying it to Autonomous Mobile Robot avoiding the obstacle and reaching the goal.

  • 오늘날 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 관련 기술 연구는 사용자가 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 네트워크에 접근해 다양한 컴퓨터 관련 서비스를 제공 받을 수 있는 방법에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이 처럼 시간과 공간의 한계를 뛰어 넘은 네트워크로의 자유로운 접근은 일상 생활의 패러다임을 바꾸어 놓게 될 것이다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술을 통해 가장 큰 변화가 일어나는 분야는 일반 가정환경에서 일어나는 인텔리전트 홈 네트워크 (Intelligent Home Network) 라고 할 수 있다. 집에 들어오면, 자동으로 문을 열어주고, 불을 켜주며, 놓쳤던 TV 프로그램을 자동으로 녹화해 놓았다가 원하는 시간에 보여주고, 적당한 시간에 목욕물을 미리 받아준다. 또한 집밖으로 나가기 전, 일기예보에 따라 우산을 챙겨주고, 일정을 확인시켜주며 입고 나갈 옷을 골라줄 수도 있다. 이 모든 일들이 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술이 가져올 인텔리전트 홈 네트워크의 모습이다. 그러나, 모든 사용자에게 효과적인 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 홈 네트워크 상의 자원 관리에서 일어날 수 있는 에이전트들간의 자원 접근 권한 충돌을 효율적으로 방지할 수 있는 기술이 필요하다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 자원관리 특성은 점유의 연속성, 자원 사이의 연관성, 그리고 자원과 사용자 사 사이의 연계성의 3 가지 특성을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 일어날 수 있는 자원 충돌 상황을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 자원 협상 방법을 제안한다. 본 방법은 자원 관리 특성을 바탕으로 시간논리에 기반을 둔 자원 선점과 분배 규칙으로 구성된다.트 시스템은 b-Cart를 기반으로 할 것으로 예측할 수 있다.타났다. 또한, 스네이크의 초기 제어점을 얼굴은 44개, 눈은 16개, 입은 24개로 지정하여 MER추출에 성공한 영상에 대해 스네이크 알고리즘을 수행한 결과, 추출된 영역의 오차율은 각각 2.2%, 2.6%, 2.5%로 나타났다.해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • IEEE 802.15.6 standard, a Wireless Body Area Network, aims to transfer not only medical data but also non-medical data, such as physical activity, streaming, multimedia game, living information, and entertainment. Services which transfer those data have very various data rates, intervals and frequencies of continuous access to a medium. Therefore, an efficient anti-collision operations and medium assigning operation have to be carried out when multiple nodes with different data rates are accessing shared medium. IEEE 802.15.6 standard for CSMA/CA medium access control method distributes access to the shared medium, transmits a control packet to avoid collision and checks status of the channel. This method is energy inefficient and causes overhead. These disadvantages conflict with the low power, low cost calculation requirement of wireless body area network, shall minimize such overhead for efficient wireless body area network operations. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a medium access scheduling scheme, which adjusts the time interval for accessing to the shared transmission medium according to the amount of data for generating respective sensor node, and a priority control algorithm, which temporarily adjusts the priority of the sensor node that causes transmission concession due to the data priority until next successful transmission to ensure fairness.

Obstacle avoidance of Mobile Robot with Virtual Impedance (가상임피던스를 이용한 원격 이동로봇의 장애물회피)

  • In this paper, a virtual force is generated and fed back to the operator to make the teleoperation more reliable, which reflects the relationship between a slave robot and an uncertain remote environment as a form of an impedance. In general, for the teleoperation, the teleoperated mobile robot takes pictures of the remote environment and sends the visual information back to the operator over the Internet. Because of the limitations of communication bandwidth and narrow view-angles of camera, it is not possible to watch certain regions, for examples, the shadow and curved areas. To overcome this problem, a virtual force is generated according to both the distance between the obstacle and the robot and the approaching velocity of the obstacle w.r.t the collision vector based on the ultrasonic sensor data. This virtual force is transferred back to the master (two degrees of freedom joystick) over the Internet to enable a human operator to estimate the position of obstacle at the remote site. By holding this master, in spite of limited visual information, the operator can feel the spatial sense against the remote environment. It is demonstrated by experiments that this collision vector based haptic reflection improves the performance of teleoperated mobile robot significantly.

The Wireless Communication for Marine Buoy (해상 브이용 무선 통신체계)

  • Ocean buoys are operated for safe navigation and collecting ocean data. Recently, to reducing marine buoy's damage by ocean weather's bad condition and collision with vessels has been conducted in several field research. This paper's experiment is buoy condition monitoring about predefined data form by users. As a result using Wireless remote control board applying a radio signal processing algorithms, it can observe buoy's state at an interval of three minutes on the land. Acquired data type is changeable according to ocean weather condition or buoy's purpose of using in advance. Also, this paper conducted an experiment such as data-transmission's stability and wireless communication's availability. As results of the analysis of the transmitted data, the solar, wind and wave power indicates the maximum amount of power, 50 W, 20 W and 40 W respectively. The communication system proven through this research can apply to buoy or other ocean facility.
