Development of a Frontal Collision Detection Algorithm Using Laser Scanners (레이져 스캐너를 이용한 전방 충돌 예측 알고리즘 개발)

  • Collision detection plays a key role in collision mitigation system. The malfunction of the collision mitigation system can result in another dangerous situation or unexpected feeling to driver and passenger. To prevent this situation, the collision time, offset, and collision decision should be determined from the appropriate collision detection algorithm. This study focuses on a method to determine the time to collision (TTC) and frontal offset (FO) between the ego vehicle and the target object. The path prediction method using the ego vehicle information is proposed to improve the accuracy of TTC and FO. The path prediction method utilizes the ego vehicle motion data for better prediction performance. The proposed algorithm is developed based on laser scanner. The performance of the proposed detection algorithm is validated in simulations and experiments.

  • 최근 차량에 설치된 단말기를 통해 길안내 서비스, 교통정보 서비스 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는 텔레매틱스 서비스가 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 하지만 현재 대다수의 텔레매틱스 서비스는 최대 15m의 공간 오차를 가진 GPS 기술을 이용하기 때문에 차량의 정확한 위치정보를 파악하기는 힘들다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 무선 센서 노드를 이용해 GPS보다 정확한 차량의 위치정보와 속도를 감지해 교차로에서 발생할 수 있는 차량 충돌을 예측하고 충돌 위험 정보를 교차로에 근접한 자동차에게 알려주는 텔레매틱스 교통안전시스템을 구성하고 노드 간 통신 프로토콜로서 IEEE 802.15.4[1]를 채택한 후 고정 라우팅 방식으로 차량정보를 베이스 스테이션까지 보내어 교차로 주변차량 전체에 브로드캐스트하는 방식을 취하도록 한다. 빠르게 이동하는 차량의 특성상 교차로 차량 충돌 방지 서비스 구현에 있어서 높은 실시간성과 신뢰성을 갖춘 프로토콜이 요구된다. 따라서 본 차량 충돌 예측을 위한 교통안전시스템의 신뢰성과 실시간성을 평가하기 위하여 Network Simulator 2 (NS/2)[2]를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 한다.

  • In the RFID Sytem, When leaders recognize the tag, a anti-collision scheme is an important factor in the performance of the system. Probabilistic-based anti-collision scheme using the slot status is a technique to estimate the number of tags. the schemes to quickly and accurately estimate the number of tags has been a lot of research. However, A initial number tag are not considering in the number of tags unknown environment. In the paper, estimation scheme for the initial number of tag is proposed to solve the problems. we analyze the performance by the initial number of tag and the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, study the substantial issues which occurs upon free flight environment by performing separation assurance under multiple conflict(over 3 Aircraft), recovery en route under the terms of time constrains and fixed way point after the conflict avoidance, correlations between conflict detection distance and separation assurance by utilizing Autonomous flight algorithm. Result of this experiment demonstrates that the extension of detection distance is advantageous to solution of separation assurance and enhancing of flight efficiency, choose to maneuver by applying time constrain terms and fixed way point according to the situation of conflict prediction in case of recovery maneuver after the conflict avoidance. And separation assurance can be solved by applying 2 degrees or more of bank angle. When choosing the optimal bank angle could be drastically improved flight efficiency.

  • In this study, nonlinear crash analyses have been conducted for the skid landing gear of a helicopter. The realistic landing gear model of the commercial helicopter (SB427) is considered. Three-dimensional dynamic finite element model with variable thickness and material plastic behavior is constructed and LS-DYNA(Ver.970) is used to conduct nonlinear transient crash analyses for different impact conditions. Characteristics of nonlinear transient responses due to the ground crash are investigated for typical structural design criteria of a skid landing gear system. In addition, comparison results for maximum crash deformations of the skid landing gear are presented and the important effect of ground friction for numerical accuracy is described.

  • Characterisation of the stress-strain relationship as well as crashworthiness of cellular polymer was investigated under constant impact energy with different velocities, considering inertia and strain rate effects simultaneously during the impact testing. Quasi-static and impact tests were carried out for two different density (64 $kg/m^3$, 89 $kg/m^3$) cellular polymer specimens. Also, the equations, coupled with the Sherwood-Frost model and the Impulse-Momentum theory, were employed to build the constitutive relation of the cellular polymer. The nominal stress-strain curves obtained from the constitutive relation were compared with results from impact tests and showed to be in good agreement.

  • VTSO(Vessel Traffic Service Operator)는 양 선박의 충돌위험 정도를 판단할 때, 선박들의 침로와 속력, DCPA(Distance to CPA)와 TCPA(Time to CPA) 그리고 양 선박의 조우상황 등을 종합적으로 고려한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 VTS관점에서 선박충돌 위험도를 구하기 위하여 CPA에서의 양 선박 상대방위에 따른 조우상황 위험도와 선박의 길이를 고려한 양 선박의 범퍼영역에 대한 근접 위험도를 이용하여 두 선박의 다양한 교차상황에 따른 선박 충돌위험 값을 비교하였다.

A Study on the Kinetic Energy and Dispersion Behavior of High-velocity Impact-induced Debris Using SPH Technique (SPH 기법을 이용한 고속충돌 파편의 운동에너지와 분산거동 연구)

  • In this study, we investigate the dispersion behavior of debris and debris cloud generated by high-velocity impacts using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) technique. The projectile and target plate were made of aluminum, and we confirm the validity of the SPH technique by comparing the measured major and minor axis lengths of the debris cloud in the reference with the predicted values obtained through the SPH analysis. We perform high-velocity impact and fracture analysis based on the verified SPH technique within the velocity ranges of 1.5~4 km/s, and we evaluate the dispersion behavior of debris induced by the impact in terms of its kinetic energy. The maximum dispersion radius of the debris on the witness plates located behind the target plate was increased with increasing impact velocity. We derive an empirical equation that is capable of predicting the dispersion radius, and we found that 95% of the total kinetic energy of the debris was concentrated within 50% of the maximum dispersion radius.

  • In recent years, autonomous driving technologies have become a high-value-added technology that attracts attention in the fields of science and industry. For smooth Self-driving, it is necessary to accurately detect an object and estimate its movement speed in real time. CNN-based deep learning algorithms and conventional dense optical flows have a large consumption time, making it difficult to detect objects and estimate its movement speed in real time. In this paper, using a single camera image, fast object detection was performed using the YOLOv5 algorithm, a deep learning algorithm, and fast estimation of the speed of the object was performed by using a local dense optical flow modified from the existing dense optical flow based on the detected object. Based on this algorithm, we present a system that can predict the collision time and probability, and through this system, we intend to contribute to prevent tram accidents.

  • The present study investigates numerically particle laden flow through compressor cascade. In general, a lot of turbine engines are affected by various particles which are suspending in the atmosphere. Especially in the case of aircraft aviating in volcanic, industrial and desert region including many particles, each components of engine system are damaged severely. That damage modes are erosion of compressor binding and rotor path components, partial or total blockage of cooling passage and engine control system degradation.. Initial damages can not be serious but cumulation of damages influences on safety of aircraft control and economical maintenance cost of engine system can be increased. When dust, materials and volcanic particles in the atmosphere flow in the compressor, it is necessary to predict damaged and deposited region of compressor blades. To the various flow inlet angle, predictions of particles trajectory in compressor cascade by Lagrangian method are presented and impulses by impaction of particles at blade surface are calculated. By the definition of particle deposition efficiency, characteristics of particles impact are considered quantitatively. With these prediction and experimental data, erosion rates are predicted for two materials - ceramic, soft metal - on compressor blade surface. Improvements like coating of blade surface could be found, by above prediction.
