  • 본 논문에서는 Base를 향해 낙하하는 물체의 충돌 연상에 대해 모델링한다. 충돌 현상에 관한 연구는‘충돌 감지’, ‘충돌 반응 양상’라는 두 부분으로 나눌 수 있다. 현재까지의 많은 논문들은‘충돌 감지’에 중점을 두고 설계하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 이미 않은 연구 결과가 드러난 ‘충돌 감지’부분은 갖추어졌다고 가정하고,‘충돌 반응 양상’를 위주로 설계의 초점을 둘 것이다. 여기서 설계할 모델의 궁극적인 목적은 복잡한 실세계와 완벽하게 일치하도록 구현하는 것이 아니라, 사람이 보기에 자연스럽다고 느낄 수 있도록 하는 것에 초점을 두는 것이다. 이를 통해, 적은 연산량으로 몰입감있는 가상 환경을 구축할 수 있다.

Algorithm for Pairwise Collision Detection and Avoidace in 3-D (3차원 일대일 충돌 감지 및 회피 알리고리듬)

  • This paper presents the development of a real-time algorithm for collision detection, collision avoidance and guidance to way-point. Three-dimensional point-mass aircraft models are used. For collision detection, time of closest point of approach(CPA) and distance at CPA are compared to threshold values. For collision avoidance, optimal acceleration input which maximizes the terminal relative distance is calculated based on optimal control theory. For guidance to way-point, proportional navigation guidance, the well-known method, is used. Two scenarios of encounter situation are illustrated to validate performance of proposed algorithm.

  • 본 논문은 RF 리더기와 RF 태그 상호간의 통신시에 발생할 수 있는 충돌을 감지하고 이를 능동적으로 회피할수 있는 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)의 설계에 관한 내용이다. RFID는 사람, 자동차, 화물, 상품 등에 정보를 부가하는 시스템으로 그 부가정보를 무선통신매체를 이용하여 비접족으로 해독하는 시스템으로 기존의 바코드보다 데이터의 전송속도와 용량의 증가 그리고 편리성이 향상되는 장점이 있으나, 동시에 여러개의 RF태그와의 무선통신으로 인한 데이터의 충돌이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 충돌을 감지하고 이를 적절하게 회피하는 것은 RFID 시스템의 신뢰성을 높이는데 필수적인 요소이다. RFID 태그로 사용되기 위해서는 건전지로 구동될 수 있도록 저전력소모가 요구되며 또한 통신의 시작과 충돌을 파악할 수 있는 캐리어 감지기능이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 조건들을 만족하는 Chipcon 사(社)의 양방향 RF IC를 사용하였다. Chipcon 사(社)의 양방향 RF IC는 다중 주파수 대역의 선택과 변조방식을 시리얼통신을 통해서 손쉽게 변경할 수 있기 때문에 충돌감지시 다양한 회피알고리즘을 상황에 맞게 구현할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 양방향 RF IC를 사용하여 충돌을 감지하고 회피할 수 있는 RFID시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

Feature Map for Collision Detection in Motion-Based Game using Web Camera (웹 카메라를 이용한 체감형 게임의 충돌감지를 위한 특징맵)

  • We propose a feature map method to detect a collision for a motion-based game. The feature map can be made an optimally reduced motion data using subtraction image and virtual ball images according to image size and condition. And we calculate the overlapped ratio between moving image data and objects. This ratio is an invariant for detection even though image size is changed. And we compare this ration with collision detection constant, the feature map can detect fast collisions as well as the collided direction. To evaluate the method, we implemented a motion-base game that consists of a web cam, a player, an enemy, and some virtual balls, and we obtained some valid results for our method for the collision detection. The results demonstrated that the proposed approach is robust, and they can be used as a basic collide detection algorithm for a motion-based game where the size and the position of characters are continuously changing.

  • Most researches in WSN-based parking management system used wireless sensors to monitor the events in a car parking area. However, the problem of car collisions in car parks was not discussed by previous researches. The car position details over time are vital in analyzing a collision event. This paper proposes a collision verification method to detect and to analyze the collision event in the parking area, and then notifies car owners. The detection uses the information from motion sensors for comprehensive details of position and direction of a moving car, and the verification processes an object tracking technique with a fast OBB intersection test. The performance tests show that the location technique is more accurate with additional sensors and the OBB collision test is faster compared to a normal OBB intersection test.

  • We reviewed the collision event with pc-based shooting games and existing collision detection algorithms. Then we proposed a new collision check technique using a small quadrilateral unit. by which existing quadrilateral collision detection techniques can be made up for. For demonstration we implemented a simple shooting game having its screen output. We proved that the proposed technique can be applied to real computer games by means of showing the experimental results and screen outputs from implemented real games.

  • In this paper we consider detecting collisions between characters whose motion is specified by motion capture data. Since we are targeting on massive crowd simulation, we only consider rough collisions, modeling the characters as a disk in the floor plane. To provide efficient collision detection, we introduce a hierarchical bounding volume, the Motion Oriented Bounding Box tree (MOBB tree). A MOBBtree stores space-time bounds of a motion clip. In crowd animation tests, MOBB trees performance improvements ranging between two and an order of magnitude.

  • There are problems to research the aquatic ecosystems. One is that an observer must be stationed in the specified environment and the other is that his subjective analysis causes incorrect results. In this paper, we proposed the model to evaluate and manage resources. It is based on the simulation of data acquisition and hydrodynamic model in the aquatic ecosystems. We used the artificial neural network to detect the collision between fluids. In the experiment result, the proposed model if very effective and accurate in the detection of collision.

GPU-Based Parallel Collision Detection for Deformable Objects (변형 물체를 위한 GPU 기반 병렬 충돌 감지)

  • Due to heavy computational cost, deformable object simulation requires more effective collision detection method than rigid body simulation. However, when the CPU-based collision detection algorithm is purely applied to the GPU environment, the collision detection algorithm and the data structure optimized for the GPU environment are essential because the performance of the GPU can not be used properly. Therefore, we propose a GPU-based parallel collision detection algorithm for mass-spring system which is widely used for deformable object representation in this paper. The proposed method uses a parallel algorithm and data structure to reduce collision detection cost through GPU-based curling algorithm using AABB-Octree structure. In this paper, we prove the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing the intersection test of all triangle pairs in parallel. The results of experimental tests show that the proposed method improves the performance by about 24% on average. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed method can improve the performance of real-time simulation for deformable objects.

  • Car running data collected from the vehicle is a native image data and sensing data of it. Hence, it can be used as a set of objective data based on which events that took place outside the car can be analyzed and determined. In this paper, we designed and implemented a emergency situation detection system to sense, store, and analyze signals related to car movements, driver's various operation states, collision pulse, etc when a car collision accident occurs on the actual road by sensing and analyzing the car movements and driver's operation status. The suggested system provides information on the driver's reaction right before the collision, operation state of the vehicle, and physical movement. The collected and analyzed data on vehicle running can be utilized to clarify the cause of a collision accident and to handle it in a just manner. Besides, it can contribute to grasping and correcting wrong driving habits of the driver and to saving.
