Adaptive HMAC Algorithm Considering Traffic Variation in the WLAN Mesh Network (WLAN 메쉬 네트워크에서 트래픽 변화를 고려한 적응형 HMAC 알고리즘)

  • 유선 네트워크와는 달리 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크는 비용면이나, 이동성면에서 장점을 많이 가지고 있다. 이에 대한 표준화가 진행 중에 있지만 많은 문제점과 기술적으로 해결해야 할 부분들이 남아있다. 특히 무선 전송기술인 DCF는 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크에 직접적으로 적용시키기에는 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. DCF를 사용할 경우에는 무선자원을 공유하는 노드의 수가 증가하고 보내려는 패킷이 증가할수록 프레임간 충돌횟수가 급격히 증가해 무선자원의 사용 효율이 현저히 떨어지기 때문이다. 반면 PCF는 노드에게 일정시간 채널을 점유할 권리를 부여함으로써 프레임간 충돌을 없애 무선자원의 사용 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 하지만 트래픽이 적은 경우에는 불필요한 조사 프레임 전송, 조사목록 갱신 등으로 무선자원을 낭비하는 단점이 있다. 따라서 이 두 기술의 장점을 이용하여 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크에 적용시킨다면 데이터 전송의 효율을 증대시킬 수 있다. WLAN 메쉬 네트워크의 기본 통신범위 내에는 많은 노드들이 있으며 이를 계층적으로 나눌 경우 계층에 따라 트래픽의 양에 많은 차이를 보인다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크에서 DCF와 PCF를 트래픽에 따라 유연하게 사용함으로써 전송 효율을 증대시키는 적응형 HMAC 알고리즘을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션 결과 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크가 DCF에 전적으로 의존하는 경우에 비하여 적응형 HMAC 알고리즘이 적용된 WLAN 메쉬 네트워크는 트래픽이 증가할수록 수율, 지연 등에서 더 좋은 성능을 나타내었다.

  • Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN), standardized as IEEE 802.15.6, enable digital devices on/around the human body to communicate with one another. WBAN is essentially a person's piconet consisting of a master (mobile) device and several slave devices, which follows his/her mobility pattern, and hence, occasionally collides with another piconet as people meet or pass by. As such, a mechanism to detect collision and avoid interference is needed for intra-piconet communications. In this paper, we focus on this notorious problem of piconet collision and propose Distributed Time Division Piconet Coexistence (DTDPC) using local time offset exchange as a simple, attractive solution. The proposed DTDPC provides different level of services for various applications. Besides our simulation results have shown that the proposed solution outperforms the conventional CSMA protocols.

Subcoracoid impingement After the Fixation of the Fractured Coracoid Process -A Case Report- (견관절 오구돌기 골절의 고정 후 발생한 오구돌기하 충돌증후군 - 증례 보고 -)

  • Subcoracoid impingement resulting from abnormal contact between the anterosuperior humerus and the anterior coracoacromial arch represents an uncommon source of anterior shoulder pain. Certain operative procedures can also alter the relationship between the coracoid and the lesser tuberosity, leading to impingement of the interventing soft tissue, including the subscapularis and the bursa. We describe an unique case of subcoracoid impingement with the tear of subscapularis tendon after the internal fixation of the fractured coracoid process with cannulated screw due to crowding of the coracohumeral space. Arthroscopic removal of the screw and repair of the subscapularis in our patient resulted in successful resolution of his symptoms. Although subcoracoid impingement is a rare cause of shoulder pain, failure to diagnose and treat this condition may represent a significant cause of failed shoulder surgery.

3D Printing-Based Ultrafast Mixing and Injecting Systems for Time-Resolved Serial Femtosecond Crystallography (시간 분해 직렬 펨토초 결정학을 위한 3차원 프린팅 기반의 초고속 믹싱 및 인젝팅 시스템)

  • Time-resolved serial femtosecond crystallography (TR-SFX) is a powerful technique for determining temporal variations in the structural properties of biomacromolecules on ultra-short time scales without causing structure damage by employing femtosecond X-ray laser pulses generated by an X-ray free electron laser (XFEL). The mixing rate of reactants and biomolecule samples, as well as the hit rate between crystal samples and x-ray pulses, are critical factors determining TR-SFX performance, such as accurate image acquisition and efficient sample consumption. We here develop two distinct sample delivery systems that enable ultra-fast mixing and on-demand droplet injecting via pneumatic application with a square pulse signal. The first strategy relies on inertial mixing, which is caused by the high-speed collision and subsequent coalescence of droplets ejected through a double nozzle, while the second relies on on-demand pneumatic jetting embedded with a 3D-printed micromixer. First, the colliding behaviors of the droplets ejected through the double nozzle, as well as the inertial mixing within the coalesced droplets, are investigated experimentally and numerically. The mixing performance of the pneumatic jetting system with an integrated micromixer is then evaluated by using similar approaches. The sample delivery system devised in this work is very valuable for three-dimensional biomolecular structure analysis, which is critical for elucidating the mechanisms by which certain proteins cause disease, as well as searching for antibody drugs and new drug candidates.

Characteristics of the Cenozoic crustal deformation in SE Korea and their tectonic implications (한반도 동남부 신생대 지각변형의 주요 특징과 지구조적 의의)

  • The southeastern Korean Peninsula has experienced crustal multi-deformations according to changes of global tectonic setting during the Cenozoic. Characteristic features of the crustal deformations in relation to major Cenozoic tectonic events are summarized as follows. (1) Collision of Indian and Eurasian continents and abrupt change of movement direction of the Pacific plate (50${\sim}$43 Ma): The collision of Indian and Eurasian continents caused the eastward extrusion of East Asia block as a trench-rollback, and then the movement direction of the Pacific plate was abruptly changed from NNW to WNW. As a result, the strong suction-force along the plate boundary produced a tensional stress field trending EW or WNW-ESE in southeastern Korea, which resultantly induced the passive intrusion of NS or NNE trending mafic dike swarm. (2) Opening of the East Sea (25${\sim}$16 Ma): The NS or NNW-SSE trending opening of the East Sea generated a dextral shear stress regime trending NNW-SSE along the eastern coast line of the Korean Peninsula. As a result, pull-apart basins were developed in right bending and overstepping parts along major dextral strike slip faults trending NNW-SSE in southeastern Korea. The basins can be divided into two types on the basis of geometry and kinematics: Parallelogram-shaped basin (rhombochasm) and wedged-shaped basin (sphenochasm), respectively. In those times, the basins and adjacent basement blocks experienced clockwise rotation and northwestward tilting contemporaneously, and the basins often experienced a kind of propagating rifting from NE toward SE. At about 17Ma, the Yonil Tectonic Line, which is the westernmost border fault of the Miocene crustal deformation in southeastern Korea, began to move as a major dextral strike slip fault. (3) Clockwise rotation of southeastern Japan Island (about 15 Ma): The collision of the Izu-Bonin Arc and southeastern Japan Island, as a result of northward movement of the Philippine sea-plate, induced the clockwise rotation of southeastern Japan Island. The event caused the NW-SE compression in the Korea Strait as a tectonic inversion, which resultantly tenninated the basin extension and caused local counterclockwise rotation of blocks in southeastern Korea. (4) E-W compression in the East Asia (after about 5 Ma): Decreasing subduction angle of the Pacific plate and eastward movement of the Amurian plate have constructed the-top-to-west thrusts and become a major cause for earthquakes in southeastern Korea until the present time.

Performance of an Efficient Backoff Retransmission Algorithm with a Proactive Jamming Scheme for Realtime transmission in Wireless LAN (재밍 기반의 재전송 방식을 사용한 무선 LAN에서의 효율적인 실시간 트래픽 전송 방안의 성능 분석)

  • In order to provide a realtime transmission over a wireless LAM, we here present a new jamming based retransmission mechanism. In a legacy wireless LAN system, all stations use the binary exponential backoff algorithm to avoid collisions among frames. It is well known that the backoff algorithm causes more collisions as the numbers of active stations increases. This makes transmission of real time traffic hard. In the proposed scheme, when each station senses collisions, it promptly allows to send a jamming signal during a unique jamming window period which is determined by its own channel access count database(CACDB). This jamming windows is chosen not to be overlapped each other by using of CACDB, and thus channel access of another station is prevented. Hereafter the station gets the ownership of the medium when the wireless medium becomes idle after sending the jamming signal and sensing carrier, and then sends frame in medium. In our proposal, repeating collisions is never happened. We here assume that real time traffic use a frame of fixed length in order to make the time for receiving its ACK frame same. Comparing the proposed jamming-based retransmission scheme with the the 802.11 and 802.11e MAC by simulation. one can find that the proposed scheme have advantages in terms of delay, average backoff time, and average number of collisions per frame. One can find that the proposed scheme might be practically applicable to several applications of realtime traffic transmission in wireless LAN systems.

Generating Safe Path with a Gradation Grid Map (점층적 격자지도를 이용한 안전한 경로 계획)

  • $A^*$ 알고리즘을 이용한 경로 계획은 이동 로봇이나 게임 유닛이 주어진 환경에서 장애물과 충돌 없이 이동 가능한 경로를 찾는데 많이 사용된다. 그러나 $A^*$ 알고리즘은 출발 지점에서 목적 지점까지의 최단 거리를 갖는 경로를 찾는다. 두 지점 사이에 장애물이 있는 경우, 최단 경로는 보통 두 지점 사이의 장애물의 모서리를 스치는 경로이다. 따라서 로봇이나 게임 유닛이 최단 경로로 이동할 때, 장애물의 모서리에 부딪힐 수 있는 위험성이 커진다. 일반적인 격자 지도의 한 셀은 장애물이 있는 경우의 무한대의 비용과 장애물이 없는 경우의 비용을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 장애물에 가까울수록 장애물이 없는 경우보다 높은 비용을 갖는 점층적 격자 지도(gradation grid map)를 이용한다. 점층적 격자 지도를 통해 $A^*$ 알고리즘은 장애물 근처의 높은 비용을 갖는 셀을 되도록 통과하지 않는 경로, 즉 보다 안전한 경로를 생성한다.

A study on the Crashworthiness Design of Bow Structure of Oil Carriers -Collision Behaviour of Simplified Models(1) (유조선 선수부의 내충돌 구조설계에 관한 연구 -이상화 모델의 충돌거동 분석(1))

  • The potential pollution problems resulting from tanker collision necessitate the requirement for an effective structural design and the development of relevant safety regulations. During a few decades, the great effort has been made by the international Maritime Organization and the Administration, etc, to reduce oil spillage from collision accidents. However there is still a need for investigation in the light of structural evaluation method for the experiments and rational analysis, and design development for an operational purpose of ships. This study aims for investigating a complicated structural response of bow structures of simplified models and oil carriers for assessing the energy dissipation and crushing mechanics of the striking vessels through a methodology of the numerical analysis for the various models and its design changes. Through these study an optimal bow construction absorbing great portion of kinetic energy at the least penetration depth prior to reach to the cargo area and an effective location of collision bulkhead are investigated. In order to obtain a rational results in this study, three stages of collision simulation procedures have been performed step by step as follows; 1) 16 simplified ship models are used to investigate the structural response against bow collision with variation of primary and secondary members. Mass and speed are also varied in four conditions. 2) 21 models consisted of 5 sizes of the full scaled oil carriers are used to perform the collision simulation with the various sizes and deadweight delivered in a recent which are complied with SOLAS and MARPOL. 3) 36 models of 100l oil carrier are used to investigate the structural response and its influence to the collision bulkhead against bow collision in variation with location of collision bulkhead, primary members, framing system and colliding conditions, etc. By the first study using simplified models the response of the bow collision is synthetically evaluated for the parameters influencing to the absorbed energy, penetration depth and impact force, etc.

Numerical Study for the Influence of Environment Temperature on Offshore Arctic Pipeline and Impingement Erosion Analysis by using Thermal Flow Simulation (극지 해양 파이프라인 내부 유체의 온도별 영향 및 내부 충돌침식 분석)

  • This paper describes thermal flow characteristic in various pipelines: straight pipeline and curved pipeline. In the Arctic and ocean area, pipelines are exposed to a extremely low temperature ($0{\sim}-40^{\circ}C$). In this situation, three-dimensional flow analysis should be analyzed to investigate thermal effects such as pressure drop, temperature change, velocity deficit and distribution change of liquid droplet of internal fluid. Also, due to freezing of water droplet, impingement erosion is expected in the curved pipeline. The stability of the pipelines can be influenced by impingement erosion. In this paper, multi-phase and multi-species analysis was introduced to analyze the flow characteristics and impingement erosion of Arctic and ocean pipelines.

Tectonic Link Between NE China, Yellow Sea and Korean Peninsula, Revealed by Interpreting CHAMP-GRACE Satellite Gravity Data and Sea-surface Measured Gravity Data (CHAMP-GRACE 인공위성 데이터와 해상 측정 중력 데이터에 나타난 황해안 지역의 남중국과 북중국판의 대륙 충돌대 위치)

  • For the understanding the locus of the Quinling-Dabie-Sulu continental collision’s boundary and the underground structure of the sedimentray basin in the Yellow Sea, three dimensional density modelling is carrid out by using gravity dataset (Free Air Anomaly), which is measured by Tamhae 2, GIGAM in a period 2000-2002. The measured gravity anomaly in the investigations area is mainly responsed by depth distribution of the sedimentary basin. After comparing the sea-measured gravity data to CHAMP-GRACE satellite gravity data, I suggested that the high density model bodies extend mainly from the southern part of China to the middle-western part of the Korean Peninsula, which might be emplaced along the continental collision’s boundary. The total volume of very low density bodies modified by modelling might be about 20 000 km3.
