A Comparative Study of Local Festival Motivation, Satisfaction, Loyalty: The Case of Local residents and Visitors (지역주민과 외지방문객의 축제 참여 동기와 만족, 충성도 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine festival visit motivation, satisfaction, loyalty the differences between festival local residents and visitors. Data were collected with a structures questionnaire at the Jun Nam Yeosu-city of Geobuksun of festival during 10$\sim$15 apr. 2007, 430 sample were used for statistical analysis SPSS. Data analysis method were used to Crombach's $\alpha$, reliability, kaiser measurement sample adequacy, factor analysis, t-test, regression analysis. As the results of this research, first, festival visitor's motivation were composed of five factors: a new & escape, exciting & enjoy, socialization, family togetherness, local culture understand and satisfaction were composed of three factors: event program & service, convenience facilities, enjoy, shopping & food, transportation. And second, local residents were found satisfied with the interesting & enjoy. Otherwise, Visitors were satisfied with new & escape. And third, local residents of satisfaction factor were affected interesting & enjoy, Otherwise, visitors of satisfaction factor were affected interesting & enjoy, family togetherness. And fourth, local residents of event program & service factor were affected re-visit, Otherwise, visitors of satisfaction factor were affected event program, enjoy, transportation. The final local residents of event & service factor were affected recommend intension, Otherwise, visitors of event program & service, transportation were affected recommend intension. The result of this paper may help local festival planner and marketers for festival marketing strategy.

Effects of Selection Attributes of Medicinal Food on Customer Satisfaction and Purchase Attitude in Jinju Area (진주지역 약선요리 선택속성이 고객만족과 구매태도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of selection attributes of medicinal food on customer satisfaction and purchase attitude in Jinju area. A survey was conducted to 300 people who live in Jinju area, and 252 completed copies of questionnaire was returned. Statistical package 'SPSS WIN 20.0' was used to analyze the sample data, and the result of the analysis is as follows. First, for the hypothesis, 'selection attributes of medicinal food have a significant effect on satisfaction,' food quality, health food and services have a significant effect on customer satisfaction. Second, customer satisfaction with medicinal food has a significant effect on revisit. Third, customer satisfaction leads to recommendation to others. In conclusion, this research shows that medicinal food restaurants in Jinju area should provide healthy food menu, high-quality food and high-class services, which could be effective to promote the specialty of medicinal food restaurants for costumers.

  • This paper is to analyze the relationships between the factors of choice attributes and the related satisfaction focused on Domestic tourists in Jeju region. First, this paper used the structural equation model with the questionnaires to investigate the attributes affecting the visitors' satisfaction and service value. In conclusion, the attribute factors influencing service value and the visitors' satisfaction are 'equipment and convenience' and 'culture and leisure'. Also, this paper presents that the 'foods' factor is affecting re-visit and others' recommendation through the mediation of satisfaction factor.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of festival experiential factors on festival satisfaction and behavioral intention by questionnaires to 550 experience program participants in the Muju Firefly Festival. And the hypothesis verified by 493 valid questionnaires with AMOS 18.0. The result of analysis showed that educational experience, escapist experience and entertainment experience except esthetic experience had positive effects on the festival satisfaction. Based on standardized coefficients showed that entertainment experience had the greatest impact on the festival visitor's satisfaction. And it showed that the satisfied visitors with the festival experience programs are the more likely re-visit and recommendation of visitors to subsequent festivals.

  • This study aims to understand what aspects among perceived environmental cues affect on satisfaction and behavior intention of visitors with the object of Gwangju Chungjang Festival 2008, which is a city festival. The survey was performed in the festival period, from October 7 through, 12 2008 with 300 visitors who finished the touring of the Festival. All the 300 questionnaires were returned, but only 270 out of 300 were used, except for the unfaithful responses, for the analysis. For statistical process of the collected data, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression were performed by using SPSS 12.0 for Windows via the process of data coding. As the result, first, the factor, environmental cues of city festival were shown differently in three dimensions of satisfaction. In other words, 'food factor' is an important factor for festival satisfaction. Second, for re-visit intention, which is the consequence variable and behavior intention of satisfaction regarding the environmental cue factor, 'convenient facility factor' and 'accessibility and promotion factor' were significant and 'promotion and guidance factor' for the recommendation factor was significant. On the contrary, 'food factor' did not have significant impact. Third and finally, as the analysis result of impact of festival satisfaction on re-visit intention and recommendation intention, which are the behavior intentions, festival satisfaction was significant. This study aims suggestion of development strategies for Gwangju Chungjang Festival 2008. It is appropriate time for this study at the point of promoting city festivals. Also, suggestions in this study can help promotion of development direction.

The Impact of City Tour Satisfaction for the Intention of Re-visit (시티투어 서비스 만족도가 재이용의사에 미치는 영향분석: 수원 시티투어 중심으로)

  • City tour service has a function not only informs tourists of historical and cultural resources in the city but also contributes to improving city image making. In this study, a questionnaire was surveyed to tourists who used Suwon city tour to find out which factors make affect their intention to re-visit or recommendation to others. Structural equation model was constructed and set a hypothesis that overall city tour satisfaction would have a positive effect. The fitness of the final model was found out to be meet the statistical criteria. As a result of the final model, both satisfaction of guide and satisfaction of city tour operation were significant at 5% significance level (P<0.01). On the other hand, both satisfaction of bus facility and of promotion, customer service were statistically insignificant. Consequently, City tour service satisfaction was found to effect to the intention of re-visit and recommendation. Especially, The higher the satisfaction of guide and city tour operation, the more tendency to recommend. It is expected that local government which operates city tour bus could take advantage of this result in the future.

Effect of the Consumer's Perception of the University Foodservice Quality on the Consumer Attitude (대학교 급식소의 급식서비스 품질에 대한 인식이 소비자태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the consumer's perception of the subject to manage the foodservice operation in the university, and to analyze the effects of consumer's perception of the university foodservice qualify on intent to revisit and intent to recommend. The questionnaires were distributed to 575 students in the K University located in Masan, who were sampled by proportionate stratified sampling method. The surveys were peformed from May 17 to June 2, 2005. The 566 questionnaires were responded, and 6 unusable questionnaires were excluded, then 560 were used for the final analysis (response rate: 97.4%). For the statistical analysis, SPSS (12.0) was used to conduct the descriptive analysis, factor analysis reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First 254 respondants (47.3%) did not know that their foodservice operation was managed by contract foodservice company, and 374 students (66.8%) did not know the name of the contract foodservice company which runned their foodservice operation. Second, the food factor of university foodservice quality had a significant positive effect on intent to revisit (P<0.001), and the food factor of university foodservice quality also had a significant positive effect on Intent to recommend (p<0.001). It was concluded that as the food factor of university foodservice qualify Increased, the intent to revisit and the intent to recommend the university foodservice increased. So when university foodservice managers plan the foodservice operation strategy, they should focus on increasing the perception of customers' foodservice quality and also advertising contract foodservice company's brand name.

A Study on the Effect of Convention Participants' Convention Service Quality on Convention Destination's Visiting Value, Intention to Behavior (외국인 컨벤션 참가자의 컨벤션 서비스품질 인식에 따른 컨벤션목적지 방문가치 및 미래행동의도 연구)

  • This study was to investigate convention service quality that affect convention destination visiting values and intention to behavior from foreign convention attendances' perspectives. From the literature review, convention service quality and destination visiting value were discussed to provide logical linkage among proposed concepts. A total of 308 useful date were collected from on site survey at the convention centers in Seoul. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed to achieve the objective of this study. Factor analysis showed that there were four underlying dimensions in the convention service quality such as mutual human interaction, program quality, useful information, transportation and convenient facility. Multiple regression showed that these convention service quality affects destination visiting values and behavior intention. More discussion and implication are provided in the conclusion section.

  • The aims of this study concerning tourists travelling in the island of Jeju include: to identify and assess the promotional efforts for traditional Jeju cuisine; and to identify the impacts of those efforts on customers and tourists. The analyses revealed that continuous promotion efforts, along with changes in the cooking methods and the development of new menus, are needed for the items of traditional Jeju cuisine that are relatively unknown to tourists and that fail to satisfy customers. Customers seeking Jeju food reported high satisfaction with such items as grilled meat and fish, steamed meat and fish, and raw fish(hoe), so those cooking methods must also be continually improved. Promotional efforts had impacts on the satisfaction and revisit rates of customers while the recognizability of foods offered had impacts on all areas, including the satisfaction and revisit rates of customers as well as word-of-mouth advertising among them. There needs to be an experience-oriented or educational program that introduces customers to traditional Jeju cuisine. Since customers and tourists gain information on traditional Jeju cuisine from the recommendations and word-of-mouth advertising from the locals they meet on the island, traditional Jeju cuisine should also be advertised to the local residents. The commercial merchandising of Jeju culinary culture and making festivals based on it must, therefore, be preceded by studies on how to increase the locals' awareness of local traditional cuisine.

A Study on Visitor Satisfaction for Bukhansan Dulegil (북한산 둘레길 이용객 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Since Jeju Ollegil opened in September 2007 and attracted the sensation of popularity throughout the country, the interest in 'Walking Trails' has increased, and the central ministries and the local governments composite and assign various 'Walking Trails'. Walking trails are not tours on which people go to see one spot and move to another spot by vehicle, but a long linear journey that leads people to see, to feel and to experience a region's landscape and culture while walking on the trail. 'Walking Trails' are efficient routes to discover and to use a former way and to link the various ecological regions' histories and cultural resources, so it is most important to select a route. Although the routes were selected by considering the various planning factors and giving each route a specified theme, some problems like the inconvenience of visitors caused by lack of facilities have occurred. After designation and construction of the trails, they were not properly evaluated by visitors. Therefore, it is the purpose of this study to suggest a better way to construct the trails by surveying visitor satisfaction and by analyzing the impact of planning a route on visitor satisfaction at Bukhansan Dulegil which was completed. For this study, with a questionnaire based on the literature review to identify the important planning factors for selecting a route, a survey was conducted on visitor satisfaction for each section and their intention to revisit and to recommend that trail. Based on the characteristics of each section that was identified in the field research, the trails were classified into five types and satisfaction of each type and each type was analyzed. In addition, analyzing the impact of planning factors on satisfaction, the impact of satisfaction on revisiting and recommending and visitors' perception of the theme, further improvement for better construction of the trail was presented. Satisfaction of sectors with strong natural elements was higher; 'walking comfort' was the highest planning factor affecting satisfaction. In addition, satisfaction was surveyed to have high influence on revisiting and recommending.
