Development of Longitudinal Ultimate and Residual Strength Estimation System for Hull Girder Structure (선각 거어더의 최종 몇 잔류종강도 추정 시스템 재발)

  • A simple estimation system of ultimate and residual strength for ship structures is developed on the Open-Window system of SUN4 engineering workstation. System development consists of three stages. Firstly, various ultimate longitudinal strength estimation methods are investigated and some rational estimation methods are adopted based on the parametric comparison of various hulls or box girders. Secondly, these selected and newly formulated methods are linked with elastic & perfectly plastic section modulus calculation procedure. Therefore, the longitudinal hull girder strength can be calculated in the intact and damaged conditions due to the grounding or collision of hull structure. Finally, an exclusive system is developed such that whole procedures are proceeded under the window management system using mouse button and elastic and perfect plastic stress conditions. Also longitudinal members are plotted automatically under three dimensional graphic circumstances. These established program is tested for various actual ships, and some examples are illustrated.

  • Estimation of the buckling and ultimate strength of a continuous stiffened plate subjected to combined transverse compression and lateral pressure is of high importance to ensure the safety of ship structures, particularly for the bottom plating under a deep draft condition For example, bottom plating of bulk carriers is subjected to transverse thrust caused by the bending of double bottom structure and the direct action of pressure on the side shells. Most of experimental tests, theoretical approach and numerical researches have been performed on the buckling and ultimate strength behaviour of plates or stiffened plates under combined compression and lateral pressure. With regard to stiffened panels, however, most of studies have been concerned with the load conditions of combined longitudinal thrust and lateral pressure, while fewer studies have been performed for the combined transverse thrust and lateral pressure. In addition, the previous researches are mainly concerned with an isolated rectangular plate simply supported along the all edges, whereas actual ship plating is continuous across the transverse frames and heavy girders. In the present paper, a series of elastoplastic large deflection FEA on a continuous stiffened plate is performed and then clarify the characteristic of collapse mode and explain the effect of transverse compression.

Investigation on the Effect of Strength Mismatch on Residual Stresses in Welds with Different Strength Used in Buried Natural Gas Pipeline (매설 가스 배관 이종금속 용접부의 강도 불일치가 잔류응력에 미치는 영향 고찰)

  • In this study, residual-stress distributions in welds with different strength used in natural gas pipelines are calculated by using finite-element analysis and simulating a realistic welding process. The temperature and residual-stress analysis results are compared with the real fusion profile and the application results of the Fitness-For-Service assessment code, API 579 in order to validate the finite-element analysis model and procedure. Parametric study is performed to assess the effect of welding and material variables such as mechanical strength mismatch, the strength of weld metal, reinforcement, and heat input on the residual stress distributions. Finally, on the basis of the parametric study results, the effects of these variables on residual stress distributions are investigated. In particular, the strength mismatch between base metals has an insignificant effect on residual-stress distributions.

  • 철근콘크리트 부재가 하중을 받을 때, 응력교란구역에서의 힘의 흐름은 스트럿-타이 모델을 이용하여 효과적으로 표현할 수 있다. 그러나 스트럿-타이 모델을 이용하여 철근콘크리트 부재의 해석과 설계를 하기 위해서는 큰크리트 압축스트럿이 가지는 유효강도를 정확히 산정하여야 한다. 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 부재에 휨과 전단력이 동시에 작용할 때 발생하는 대각선 균열이 콘크리트 압축스트럿에 미치는 영향에 대해 설명하고 있다. 대각선 균열의 발생 메커니즘과 이로 인한 콘크리트 압축스트럿의 강도 저하를 이론적으로 설명하였으며, 그 결과를 철근콘크리트 보의 강도 산정에 적용하였다. 최종적으로 철근콘크리트 보의 강도 예측값을 기존 연구자들의 실험결과와 비교하여 제안된 이론의 합리성을 검증하였다.

Transverseless AFRAMAX급 이중선체 유조선 구조부재의 안전성평가

  • 본 연구에서는 힁부재가 없는 AFRAMAX급 신구조 방식의 유조선을 개발하고자 하였다. 설계의 기본 개념은 1) 이중선체구조를 채용하여 해난사고 발생시 기름유출 방지를 피하고, 2) 힁부재가 없는 극히 단순한 선체구조를 채용하여 용접 로봇등을 활용한 자동건조 비율을 높임으로써 건조 생산성을 향상시키는데 주안점을 두고 있다. 설계 결과 얻어진 선체구조는 기존의 유조선 구 조와 매우 상이하다. 초기구조설계단계에서 구조 부재의 치수는 기존의 선급설계 지침을 활용 하여 결정하였으나, 기존의 유조선 구조와 비교하여 구조배치가 크게 바뀌어 졌기 때문에 기존의 선급설계지침을 만족했다고 해서 구성부재와 국부구조뿐만 아니라 구조 전체적으로도 충분한 구조안전성을 가지고 있는지는 확실치 않다. 따라서 직접구조해석에 의한 구조안전성 평가가 필수적으로 요구되며, 이를 위해 저자들은 선체구조의 최종 종강도(ultimate longitudinal strength), 최종 힁강도(ultimate transverse strength) 및 최종 국부강도(ultimate local strength )를 기준으로한 구조안전성 평가를 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 이들 중에서 국부 구조부재에 대한 안전성평가 문제만을 다루었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 개발한 선체구조는 건전상태(intact condition)하에서 뿐만 아니라 손상상태하에서도 구조부재는 좌굴 또는 붕괴하지 않고 전반적 으로 충분한 구조안전성을 가지고 있다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는, 초고압 GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear)용 GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker)의 3상 배치구조를 설계 하기 위한 상간, 대지간의 절연성능을 평가하였다. 피임펄스 전압과 상용주파 전압인가시 상간, 대지간의 절연설계 기준과 비교하여 절연설계 안전율을 고려하여 설계에 적용하였다. 수치적 전계 해석법으로 3차원 전계 해석법과 2차원 축대칭 전계 해석법을 통해 전계 강도를 비교하였으며 3차원 전계 해석법으로는 경계 요소법(Boundary Element Method)을 사용하는 상용프로그램인 coulomb을 사용하였으며, 2차원 전계 해석법으로는 유한요소법(Finite Element Method)을 사용하는 Maxwell을 통해 절연성능 평가를 하였다. 마지막으로, 전계 해석을 통해 절연설계 기준에 적합한 상배치 구조 설계를 하였다.

Simple Formulae for Buckling and Ultimate Strength Estimation of Plates Subjected to Water Pressure and Uniaxial Compression (수압(水壓)과 압축력(壓縮力)을 받는 평판(平板)의 좌굴(挫屈) 및 최종강도(最終强度) 추정식(推定式))

  • This paper proposes simple formulae for buckling and ultimate strength estimation of plates subjected to water pressure and uniaxial compression. For the construction of a formula for elastic buckling strength estimation, parametric study for actual ship plates with varying aspect ratios and the magnitude of water pressure is carried out by means of principle of minimum potential energy. Based on the results by parametric study, a new formula is approximately expressed as a continuous function of loads and aspect ratio. On the other hand, in order to get a formula for ultimate strength estimation, in-plane stress distribution of plates is investigated through large deflection analysis and total in-plane stresses are expressed as an explicit form. By applying Mises's plasticity condition, ultimate strength criterion is then derives. In the case of plates under relatively small water pressure, the results by the proposed formulae are in good agreement compared with those by other methods and experiment. But present formula overestimates the ultimate strength in the range of large water pressure. However, actual ship plates are subjected to relatively small water pressure except for the impact load due to slamming etc.. Therefore, it is considered that present formulae can be applied for the practical use.

  • 주철의 중력금형주조에서 반복작업에 따른 응고과정의 변화를 3차원의 수치해석적 방법에 의하여 컴퓨터해석을 하였다. 수치해석적 방법으로는 차분법을 채택하였다. 반복작업과정에 따라 변화되어지는 주물의 응고시간과 미세조직, 기계적성질과의 관계가 조사 되어졌다. 컴퓨터에 의해 계산된 각싸이클의 냉각속도로 부터 주물의 공정셀의 수, 경도, 인장강도등의 변화를 예측하였으며 또한 반복싸이클에 따른 금형 및 주물의 온도분포와 최종응고부위등을 예측하였고 이들은 실제주조시험에서 얻어진 결과와 비교적 잘일치하였다. 중력금형주조에서 회주철의 응고시간, 공정셀, 기계적성질 및 응고속도에 미치는 냉각수의 영향이 또한 컴퓨터해석에 의하여 잘예측되었으며 컴퓨터해석에 의한 냉각수 라인의 적절한 설계에 의하여 주물의 미세조직 및 기계적성질과 결함발생 가능위치를 효과적으로 제어할수 있음을 확인하였다.

Axial Collapse Behaviour of Ship's Stiffened Panels considering Lateral Pressure Load (횡하중을 고려한 선체보강판넬의 압축 붕괴거동에 관한 연구)

  • Stiffened steel plates are basic structural members on the deck and bottom structure in ship, offshore. It has a number of one sided stiffeners in either one or both directions, the latter structure was called grillage structure. At the ship structural desgn stage, one of the major consideration is evaluation for ultimate strength of the hull girder. In general, it is accepted that hull girder strength can be represented by the local strength of the longitudinal stiffened panel. In case of considering hogging condition in a stormy sea, stiffened panel was acting on the bottom structure under axial compressive load induced hull girder bending moment, also simultaneously arising local bending moment induced lateral pressure load. In this paper, results of the structural analysis have been compared with another detailed FEA program and prediction from design guideline and a series analysis was conducted consideration of changing parameters for instance, analysis range, cross-section of stiffener, web height and amplitude of lateral pressure load subjected to combined load (axial compression and lateral pressure load). It has been found that finite element modeling is capable of predicting the behaviour and ultimate load capacity of a simply supported stiffened plate subjected to combined load of axial compression and lateral pressure load It is expected that these results will be used to examine the effect of interaction between lateral pressure and axial loads for the ultimate load-carrying capacity based on the Ultimate Limit State design guideline.

A Prediction of the Mobilized Tensile Forces of Nailed -Soil Excavated Walls (Nailed -Soil 굴착벽체의 발휘인장력 예측)

  • In the present study an analytical modeling was carried out to predict mobilized shear strength at the interface between the nail and surrounding soils by carefully examining the behavior characteristics of nailed boil excavated walls. Based on the developed model of mobilized shear strength, the method of overall stability analysis of nailed -soil walls was also developed using the Morgentern -Price limit -equilibrium slice method. The developed analytical procedure could predict the behaviors of nailed -soil excavated walls during the successive excavation stages, at the final stage of construction and post -construction stages. To verify the validity of the developed model and method of stability analysis, mobilized tensile forces of nails and overal stability estimated by the developed procedure were compared with test measurements from three nailed -soil experimental walls having different soil conditions. The effect of seepage pressures inside the soil mass was considered in the developed procedure.
