A STUDY ON CHANGES OF AIRWAY, TONGUE, AND HYOID POSIT10N FOLLOWING ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY (하악후방이동수술후 기도, 혀 및 설골의 위치변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate changes of airway size, tongue and hyoid position following orthognathic surgery in mandibular prognathism, and how they are adapted to new environment in time dependent manner. 37 patients, who had recieved orthognathic surgery, were selected for this study. lateral cephalogram of each patient was taken at preoperation, immediate postoperation, and over 6 month after operation, and were traced and analyzed The findings of this study were as follows : 1. The size of airway was not changed at PNS and Epiglottis level after operation, but it was changed slightly at 2nd cervical vertebra level. 2. The hyoid was moved inferoposteriorly at immediate postoperation, and then it shifted toward preoperative position, but it remained slightly inferoposterior position. The distance from hyoid to genial tubercle decreased continuously. 3. The position of tongue was moved inferoposteriorly at immediate postoperatioa and then it shifted toward preoperation position, but the root of the tongue remained inferoposteriorly. 4. The distance between tongue and hyoid was increased at immediate postoperation and slightly decreased during follow-up period. 5. The change of the mandibular position was not significantly correlated with changes of airway size, hyoid position, tongue morphology and tongue position.

Development of Fine Dust Measurement Method based on Ultrasonic Scattering (초음파 산란 기법을 적용한 미세먼지 측정법 개발)

  • New concept of fine dust measurement method is suggested based on ultrasonic scattering. These days, fine dust has been social problem in Korea, and many researches has been conducted including the area structural maintenance. Conventional measurement system such as optical scattering and semiconductor has a limit from environmental factors like relative humidity. However, ultrasound is based on mechanical waves, which perturb mechanical properties of medium such as density and elastic constants. Using the advantage, the algorithm for fine dust measurement is derived and evaluated using 2-D finite difference method. The numerical analysis simulates ultrasonic wave propagation inside multiple scattering medium like fine dust in air. Signal processing scheme is also suggested and the results show that the error of the algorithm is around minimum of 0.7 and maximum of 24.9 in the number density unit. It is shown that cross-section of fine dust is a key parameter to improve the accuracy of algorithm.

  • As information communication technology matures, GIS is being evolved from wire communication GIS to mobile GIS. This is due that mobile GIS satisfy mobility, field work, speed and time. Also, this is proper that mobile GIS accomplish investigation, confirmation, input and modification operations of spatial and attribute data at field. I think mobile GIS's use is the best way. Because, Mobile GIS's use can accomplish effectively the management of various kinds facilities in city. On this study, we consider diversified methods a person in charge can management point and line data with more easy and more effective method. The management methods of pint type data are free method, offset method two point method. The management methods of line type data are free method, point connection method, point and line connection method and the minimum distance connection method between point and line.

2D Spatial-Map Construction for Workers Identification and Avoidance of AGV (AGV의 작업자 식별 및 회피를 위한 2D 공간 지도 구성)

  • In this paper, an 2D spatial-map construction for workers identification and avoidance of AGV using the detection scheme of the spatial coordinates based on stereo camera is proposed. In the proposed system, face area of a moving person is detected from a left image among the stereo image pairs by using the YCbCr color model and its center coordinates are computed by using the centroid method and then using these data, the stereo camera embedded on the mobile robot can be controlled for tracking the moving target in real-time. Moreover, using the disparity map obtained from the left and right images captured by the tracking-controlled stereo camera system and the perspective transformation between a 3-D scene and an image plane, depth map can be detected. From some experiments on AGV driving with 240 frames of the stereo images, it is analyzed that error ratio between the calculated and measured values of the worker's width is found to be very low value of 2.19% and 1.52% on average.

  • In this research, the visualization experiment for a scaling tunnel was conducted to establish the optimum fire protection system in tunnel fires. In order to find the optimal operating condition of jet fan with the fire, the characteristics of smoke propagation was considered to find the optimal operating condition of jet fan at the time of tunnel fire, the concentration of smoke was measured experimentally for various jet fan position and it's operating condition. As a result, when jet fan in the vicinity of fire operates at the upstream, the back-layering of the smoke should be considered with separation distance from the fire source. The distance between the jet fan and the fire should be longer than 50 m. On the other hand, when the vicinity jet fan operates at the downstream, the back-layering of smoke does not occur, but stratification is not maintained because the smoke dispersion occurs at the downstream due to the operation of the jet fan.

Development of Fast-Time Simulator for Aircraft Surface Operation (항공기 지상 이동 Fast-Time 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Thisstudy presentsthe development of a fast-time airport surface simulator. The simulator usesthe output from a first-come first-served (FCFS) scheduler and has adopted one-dimensional dynamic model to simulate the movement of the aircraft on the surface. Higher collision risks situations in the airport surface traffic are analyzed to classify those situations into six cases. A conflict detection and resolution algorithm is implemented to maintain separation distance and to prevent deadlock. The simulator was tested with a scenario at the Incheon International Airport that contains 72 aircraft. Without the conflict detection and resolution, various conflict situations are identified. When the conflict detection and resolution algorithm is managing the traffic, it is confirmed that the conflicts are removed at the price of additional delays. In the conflict resolution algorithm, three prioritization strategies are implemented, and delayed aircraft count and average additional delays are compared. Prioritization based on remaining time or distance showed smaller total additional delay compared to choosing minimum delay priority for each situation.

  • I. 목적 : arm-up holder는 흉부 및 복부 질환 치료의 환자고정에 유용하게 사용하고 있으나 손잡이 부분과 어깨가 닿는 부분까지 거리 때문에 동일한 자세를 유지하는데 불편함이 있다. 특히 긴장을 많이 하거나 기력이 없는 환자는 방사선 치료 시 자세의 불안정으로 인하여 치료의 정확성이 떨어질 수 있다. 이에 본원에서는 현재 사용하고 있는 arm-up holder에 팔의 지지를 위한 보조기구를 제작하여 유용성을 평가하였다. II. 대상 및 방법 : 기존의 arm-up holder에 어깨받침대를 부착하여 개선된 arm-up holder를 제작하였다. 실험을 위하여 기존의 arm-up holder를 사용하는 환자그룹과 개선된 arm-up holder를 사용하는 그룹으로 구분하여 자세 변화를 평가하였다. 두 그룹의 환자를 대상으로 모의 치료를 실시한 후 치료실에서 L-gram 을 2회 씩 촬영하여 치료하고자 하는 portal film과 isocenter의 변화를 측정했다. 각 그룹 당 10명씩의 환자를 선정하여 반복 조사하였다. III. 결과 : 개선된 arm-up holder를 사용한 그룹의 isocenter 의 변화는 최대 2mm, 최소 0.5mm 평균 1.2mm 이다. 기존의 arm-up folder를 사용한 그룹과 비교하여 평균변화는 약 2배로 나라났고, 최대 변화는 2.5배의 오차범위가 측정되었다. IV. 결론 : 현재 사용하고 있는 arm-up holder는 흉부 및 복부의 사방향 방사선 치료 시 팔에 의한 방사선 감약을 예방할 수 있는 유용한 고정용구이다. 하지만 팔을 올리고 있는 자세는 환자에게 불편함을 야기 시키며 이로 인한 치료의 정확성을 감소시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 기존의 arm-up holder에 보조기구를 제작하여 사용함으로써 환자의 불편함을 개선하고, set-up 의 안정성과 재현성을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

Position Error Correction Algorithm for Improvement of Positioning Accuracy in BLE Beacon Systems (BLE 비콘 시스템에서 측위 정밀도 향상을 위한 위치 오차 보정 알고리즘)

  • Recently, BLE beacons are widely used in indoor precision positioning systems because of their low battery consumption and low infrastructure cost. However, existing BLE beacon based indoor positioning algorithms are difficult to compensate for position errors due to the user's moving speed. Therefore, we proposed a position error correction algorithm that combines bounced cancellation and minimum distance maintenance algorithm with a positioning error correction method using direction vectors. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm guarantees superior positioning performance than the existing indoor positioning algorithm and also improves the performance of position error compensation.

Autonomous Mobile Robot System Using Adaptive Spatial Coordinates Detection Scheme based on Stereo Camera (스테레오 카메라 기반의 적응적인 공간좌표 검출 기법을 이용한 자율 이동로봇 시스템)

Corridor and Network Analyses of Forest Bird Habitats in a Metropolitan Area of South Korea (수도권 지역 산림성 조류 서식지의 통로와 연결망 분석)

  • Measuring and mapping connectivity among habitats is a key component of sustainable urban planning and design process. In this study, we examined how functional corridors connect forest bird habitats in a metropolitan area of Korea using graph theory-based techniques. High-quality forest habitat was defined as a function of forest cover, presence of residential areas, and road networks. We then constructed a network of high-quality forest habitats using the FunConn (functional connectivity) tools, and computed metrics ($T_i$) of patch importance based on the minimum ($Q_1$) and the 25th percentile ($Q_{25}$) rank least-cost distance values. We investigated the relative influence of two values of patch importance on forest bird species richness. As a result, the patch importance index based on the $Q_{25}$ effective distance threshold was most positively correlated with species richness (P < 0.001) after controlling for the area effect. Thus, using the $Q_{25}$ effective distance threshold, we mapped not only the locations of important habitat patches and functional corridors, but also the network backbone of forest bird habitats. The network developed in this study can help guide urban planning for biodiversity conservation.
