A Seismic Study for Anisotropy and Engineering Property of Rocks at Boeun Area. (탄성파를 이용한 보은지역 암석의 공학적 성질과 이방성에 관한 연구)

  • The Okchon Formation and the Mesozoic granite of the Boeun, Chungbuk are compared in terms of seismic wave velocities estimated from the field experiment, and seismic wave velocities in 3-D measured from the rock specimen. P-wave velocity for the field data ranges from 861 m/s (Guryongsan-2 Formation) to 2697m/s (Bulguksa Granite). P-wave anisotropy also ranges from 46% (Changri Formation) to 81% (Bulguksa Granite), with an average value of 68.5%. P-wave velocities for the rock specimens from Guryongsan-1, Guryongsan-2, Changri, and Munjuri Formations are greater than 5000m/s. S-wave velocities for those specimens are approximately 3500m/s, which is 3-5 times grater than the ones estimated from the field experimental data. P-wave anisotropy for the specimens from Bulguksa Granite and Guryongsan-1 Formation exceeds 60%, which is compared to 30% for the other specimens. This value is much smaller than average P-wave anisotropy (69.5%) for the field data. It is suggested that velocity difference, associated with the propagation direction, is much greater for the field data than for the specimens.

Development of the speed up x-DSL extender for AM, HF rejection (공중파 제거를 위한 x-DSL 고속화 장치 개발)

  • Intentional city bands and public radio frequencies could reduce the internet transmission speed on the wired lines because AM and HF band are overlapping on the xDSL up and down data steam by way of the wired transmission lines. We were designed the adaptive common mode rejection circuit with 2 way amplifier against public radio frequency. Specially our circuits were applied for power and signal lines. We could reduced the common mode rejection up to 30dB and increased the up stream speed around 1.8 times using a our developed equipments. Also it could expanded the transmission distance up to 1.7 times than old lines.

  • 동일한 집단에 속하는 개체를 다른 집단에 속하는 개체로부터 구별할 수 있는 염기의 특징을 해당 집단의 시그너쳐라고 한다. 학습 데이터는 두 집단에 속하는 염기서열들이고, 염기서열에 대한 시그너쳐는 개체를 다른 집단과 구별할 수 있는 위치의 염기들로 구성된 서열이다. 제안한 방법에서는 각 집단에 대해서 위치별로 염기의 발생빈도를 계산하고, 가장 발생빈도가 높은 염기를 결정한 다음, 다른 집단의 대응 위치에서 해당 염기의 빈도를 계산하여, 빈도차이가 지정한 분류임계값 이상이면, 해당 위치의 염기를 시그너쳐를 구성하는 특징으로 간주한다. 시그너쳐를 대한 임의의 염기서열에 대한 부합정도는 시그너쳐에 속하는 염기의 학습집단에서의 상대빈도값을 가중치로 하여 계산한다. 임의의 염기서열이 특정 집단에 속하는지 판단하기 위해서는 해당 집단의 시그너쳐에 대한 부합정도를 계산하게 되는데, 부합정도가 얼마이상이 되어야 해당 집단에 속하는 것으로 간주할지 기준이 되는 임계값을 엄밀도 임계값이라고 한다. 엄밀도 임계값은 학습 데이터 집합에 대해서 주어진 시그너쳐에 대한 엄밀도 임계값이 민감도와 특이도를 최대로 하는 것을 선택한다. 제안한 방법을 구현한 바이오인포매틱스 도구를 개발하여, 한국형 HIV-1 바이러스 시그너쳐 추출에 적용하여 분류특성이 우수한 시그너쳐를 추출할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 AVC 보다 50% 압축성능 향상을 목표로 표준화가 진행되고 있는 차세대표준인 HEVC 부호화기의 속도를 높이기 위한 방안으로, HEVC 의 기술 중 화면 분할 기술인 타일(Tile)을 기반으로 효율적으로 부호화기를 병렬화하는 구조를 제안한다. 부호화기에서 복잡도가 높은 율왜곡 기반 모드 결정 과정을 멀티코어 병렬프로그래밍으로 구현하고, 병렬처리에 의한 속도 개선 결과를 제시한다. 타일은 병렬처리를 지원하기 위해 HEVC 가 채택한 구조로, 화면을 여러 개로 분할하여 부/복호화 할 수 있어 병렬처리 단위로 적합하며, 표준화의 기고서를 통해 화면분할로 인한 압축성능 변화량은 여러 차례 보고되고 있다. 본 논문의 결과에 의하면 타일의 수만큼 쓰레드를 생성하여 각 타일 단위로 율왜곡 기반 부호화 모드 결정을 하도록 병렬화 하였을 때 기존 참조 소프트웨어 대비 12 개의 쓰레드 생성 시 6 배의 속도 개선을 보인다. 향후 병렬로 처리할 수 있는 모듈을 확장하면 쓰레드 수 증가에 따른 속도개선 효과가 증대되어 부호화기 실용화를 위한 실시간 부호화기 개발에 한 걸음 다가갈 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

Estimation of genetic parameters for milk flow traits in Holstein dairy cattle (홀스타인 젖소의 비유속도형질에 대한 유전모수 추정)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the possibility that milking speed traits can be improved by estimating their genetic parameters and to provide basic information when the goals for dairy cattle improvement are established. The amount of milk within the first three minutes (3MG) was 8.97 Kg and 57% of total milk was produced within 3 minutes, but it was lower than that of the recommended level (70%). The highest milk flow (HMF) and average milk flow (DMHG) in the main milking phase were 3.66kg/min and 2.43kg/min, respectively, which were lower than those of the recommended levels (4.0 5.0kg/min and 3.0 4.0kg/min), suggesting slower milking speed of domestic dairy cattle compared to that of foreign dairy cattle. The heritability estimates on the highest milk flow (HMF), maximum milk flow (HMG) in one minute and average milk flow (DMHG) in the main milking phase were 0.35, 0.31 and 0.29, respectively, which are suitable for the improvement of traits with medium heritability. The genetic correlation between total milk yields (MGG) and average milk flow (DMHG) in the main milking phase was 0.591, while the genetic correlations among milking speed traits including the highest milk flow (HMF), maximum milk flow (HMG) in one minute and average milk flow (DMHG) in the main milking phase were in the range of 0.889 0.997.

  • It was attempted to evaluate the microstructure and quality of various types of cast iron by ultrasonic velocity measurement. Three types of commercial gray cast iron and ductile cast iron were used for this investigation, respectively. One type of the ductile cast iron was heat-treated as a function of annealing time to produce different microstructure. Ultrasonic velocity measurement, microstructural analysis (pearlite area fraction, graphite length and nodularity), and hardness measurement were performed to find empirical correlations among these parameters. Ultrasonic velocity of ductile cast iron was markedly faster than that of gray cast iron. Ultrasonic velocity decreased with the decrease of fraction of pearlite structure. As a quality monitoring parameter of cast iron, potential of ultrasonic velocity was suggested.

Trends on Racing Speed Traits in Thoroughbred Racehorses (더러브렛 경주마의 속도형질에 대한 추세 분석)

  • This study was carried out to calculate genetic trends on racing speed traits of Thoroughbred racehorses, using a total 208,043 racing records of 9,934 heads collected from January, 1990 to December, 2006 in Gwacheon racecourse. Repeated time, winning time and annual best time were used racing speed traits. The estimated heritabilities and repeatabilities for repeated time, winning time and annual best time were 0.288, 0.275, 0.341 and 0.502, 0.475, 0.496, respectively. Average phenotypic improvement per race year for racing speed traits were ranged from -0.115 to 0.148 second. The other side, the genetic improvement per race year for repeated time was -0.027 second but winning time and annual best time were not shown consistent trends. Therefore, we concluded that repeated time is recommended improvement trait of Thoroughbred racehorses.

Physicochemical Properties of Chestnut Starch (밤 전분의 이화학적 특성)

  • Physicochemical properties and aging of chestnut, Castanea cretana(Eungi), starch were investigated. The starch granules were irregular oval shape with the ratio of short and long axis of 1 : 1.4 and the size of $2.9-21.4{\mu}$ (average $10\;{\mu})$). The starch showed a typical B-type X-type diffraction pattern. Amylose content and water binding capacity were 22.7% and 81.5%, respectively. The optical transmittance of 0.1% starch suspension increased rapidly from $55^{\circ}C$. The swelling power of the starch repidly increased betwen $55^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$, and its increase slowed down thereafter. Amylograms of starch at 5% and 6% concentrations indicated that the starch was stable against heat and shear force. The viscosity at 6% concentration was over twice higher than that at lower concentration. The time constant(reciprocal of rate constant) for 45% starch gel stored at $21^{\circ}C$ was 1.68 days.

  • This paper is a study for developing an agriculture automatic hose reel of mobile robot. One of the important works in farming is pesticide spraying because it is related to the growth of crops. Therefore, we develop an automatic reel hose and mobile robot. Conducting kinematic analysis of steering performance, the mobile robot is designed to move smoothly even in a small space, and that is verified by simulation. To increase supplying accuracy of the automatic hose reel, the mobile robot use detecting tension mechanism on a hose and a device for the hose deployment. We conduct performance and on-farm evaluation. This system has been maximum speed of 2.5m/s, driving accuracy of ${\pm}0.18^{\circ}$ and driving safety speed of 2m/s. The system would solve an aging population and shortage of workforce in agriculture.

  • Recently, it is studied actively that DVB-S2 for mobility standard(DVB-S2M) is combined with DVB-H, DVB-T and conventional DVB-S2 standard for continuous satellite broadcasting and internet service. Especially, overcoming deep fading by tunnel is main subject. For overcoming deep fading, DVB-S2M proposed cross layer system is consist of upper layer and physical layer. Thus, this paper proposed optimal upper layer coding system fixing the physical layer coding under the simulation results by coding methods, train speed, data rate, interleaver size and IP packet size.
