  • This study was carried out ill an attempt to investigate the properties and activities of sericin obtained from silk cocoon shells in silk reeling water through various instrumental analyses. In addition, the effects of the characteristics in sericin solubility on the reeling process and silk qualities were also studied on the basis of tile above conditions. The results obtained are as follows: I. The sericin properties and activities through various analytical instruments. 1. The water solubility of each amino acid such as serine, glycine. glutamic and aspartic acids against the pH modified water by using automatic amino acid analyzer, showed the lowest solubility at PH 5, but it increased according to drifting toward the alkalinity. 2. When the obtained sericin particles by water pH variation were observed with the electronic microscope, it was found for the sericin Particles to expand in the alkaline regions. 3. The IR spectrum results showed the differences among the pH modified sericin solutions at the range of 2,100cm-1 and 1.890cm-1 of wave number. 4. The existence of sericin with in silk fabrics made differences in the X-ray interference intencity, that is, the non-degummed fabrics had the interference peak at 2$\theta$=14$^{\circ}$, 17$^{\circ}$, 24$^{\circ}$, and the degummed ones had it at 2$\theta$=17$^{\circ}$, 18$^{\circ}$, 20$^{\circ}$, 23$^{\circ}$, 26$^{\circ}$. II. The results of sericin solubility for silk reeling process. 1. The sericin solubility and swelling had a tendency to increase up with high M-alkalinity and pH value of water. But in case of acidity. water hardness and concentration of ethylene glycol were high, the sericin solubility and swelling were decreased. 2. With the filature experiments, the best conditions of filature orator are summarized as fellows ; a. pH; 6.9${\pm}$0.2 d. acidity; below10ppm b. total hardness; 55:5ppm e. Fe ion; none c. • This study examines the major changes of research about science and technology administrative system and innovation governance, and suggests future direction through critical review. The subjects of the analysis are papers of such as Korean Public Administration Review, Journal of Technology Innovation and policy reports and government documents published by national research institutes. As a result of the analysis, the research itself has evolved from the part of the government organization to the unique field and main focused historical, normative, comparative analysis and institutional approach. In addition, coordination and integration of science and technology policies have been regarded as important issues in research, and innovation system (NIS) and governance perspectives have begun to be reflected in research. However, it reveals some issues such as small government theory vs big government theory, governance theory vs control tower theory, and shows limitations in problem definition and solution inconsistency, and lack of grand and detailed discourse. Future challenges include the pursuit of evolutionary rationality, the pursuit of diversity in multidimensional research and methods, development of korean policy theory and securing universality.

  • Brownfield sites are beginning to be considered as potentially useful areas for landscape design and planning, with post-industrial areas such as water treatment facilities and military training bases being converted into useful landscapes such as parks and recreation areas. These redevelopments bring broad benefits through revitalizing communities and increasing property values, thus, increasing the demand for comprehensive management and planning policies. This study examines changes in U.S. brownfield policies and programs and, identifies their periodic characteristics over the thirty years since the Superfund program was introduced in 1980. A descriptive and interpretive approach was utilized, focusing specifically on a time sequential analysis of the data gathered from the overview of the Environmental Protection Agency's web-based documents and related literature. The primary changes in and characteristics of programs and policies were analyzed and divided into three periods : environmental protection, remediation and reuse, and comprehensive planning. Four major features were identified: relaxation and readjustment of regulation, diversification of support programs, a mix of top-down and bottom-up approaches, and database system building. The study examines how common brownfield problems such as site identification difficulties and assessment and remediation cost have been dealt with in the regulatory context and has implications for future policies and programs for effective brownfield planning and management in Korea.

  • This pilot study involved a single session of song-based music therapy to relieve the anxiety of intensive care unit (ICU) caregivers. Six caregivers of ICU patients participated in the intervention session individually. During the initial stage of the intervention, the participants' current emotional states were identified. Then they listened to familiar songs and playing a tone chime, which was intended to help them relax their body and reduce their psychological resistance. During singing experiences as an essential part of the intervention, the participants discussed the lyrics of songs in an attempt to find the meaning related to them. Also, they sang the songs with a live accompaniment in which their emotional states were reflected with changes in musical elements (e.g., tempo, dynamics, rhythm, or chords). In the final stage, they identified personal application to their everyday lives. To analyze the results, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and a visual analog scale on emotional states were completed by participants before and after the session, and participants' verbal responses during the session were also recorded. According to the results, STAI anxiety scores significantly declined following the session. Also, they showed significant increases in positive emotions and significant decreases in negative emotions. This suggests that short-term music therapy can be an effective intervention for relieving the psychological distress of ICU caregivers.

  • The low seed propagation is one of the problem needed a lot of seed tuber for the propagation in yam. Therefore this experiment was carried out to understand the possiblility of seed tuber propagation by tissue culture of yam. In-vitro stem node of yam was cultured by concentration treatments of 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 with MS medium additted with each concentration levels of IAA, NAA, IBA, kinetin and BA. Acorrding to the Iower concentration than MS medium, length of shoots was promoted, leaf emergence shoots and rooting shoots were increased at 1/8 MS medium during the culturing period of stem node in yam. Fixed IBA and kinetin under the concentration of MS mdeium was inhibited severely by the heigh concentration additted with lAA $1mg\;/\;{\ell}\;and\;NAA\;4mg\;/\;{\ell}$. But fixed IBA $5mg\;/\;{\el}l\;and\;kinetin\;2mg\;/\;{\ell}$ with concentration of 1/8MS medium was remarkably promoted leaf emergence shoots and rooting shoots by $1mg\;/\;{\ell}$ of additted lAA and NAA. Percentage of induced shoots was increased by combination treatments of lAA. $1.5mg\;/\;{\ell}\;and\;kinetin\;2mg\;/\;{\ell}$, also leaf emergence shoots and rooting shoots were promoted by combination treatments of lAA $1.5mg\;/\;{\ell}\;and\;kinetin\;2mg\;/\;{\ell}$.

  • This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of plant growth regulators, dichlorprop and MCPB on the reduced effect of fruit drop and fruit quality before and after storage in apples. Dichlorprop was tested with dilution of 1000 at 30, 40, 50 days before harvesting, and MCPB with dilution of 4000 at 15, 25, 35 days before harvesting. The results are summarized as follows : Percentage of fruit drop was appeared to the notable reduction as compared with the untreated control when regulators was applied with dilution of 1000 at 30 days before harvesting by dichlorprop and with dilution of 4000 at 35 days before harvesting by MCPB. Degree of fruit colour showed to the remarkable promotion at all the treatment of 30, 40, 50 days before harvesting by dichlorprop as compared with the untreated control. Sugar contents in flesh was increased a little at the treatment of 30 days before harvesting by dichlorprop, but acid contents in flesh was reduced at all the treatment of 30, 40, 50 days before harvesting by dichloroprop and at 15, 25, 35 days before harvesting by MCPB. Passed firmness of fruit after storage was maintained at the treatment with dilution of 4000 at 35 days before harvesting. Therefore, it was repressed a softening of fruit, but by dichlorprop treatment at 30, 40, 50 days before harvesting, fruit firmmess was appeared to reduce according to the passage of storage period. Amount of ethylene evolution after storage was showed to reduce at all the treatment by early treated time of dichoroprop and MCPB, but carbon dioxide increased at treatment conditions such as the front. Accordingly, these relationship showed to be contrary each other.

  • With the revision of the 「State Property Act」, the conditions for using state-owned land have improved. The new government is also suggesting the necessity of using state-owned land to revitalize private investment and secure financial investment capacity. In line with these policy changes, this study examines Japan's policy on the utilization of state-owned land and effective use cases, and seeks to find policy implications from the perspective of managing and promoting the use of state-owned land. The direction of Japan's public land utilization policy is to induce optimal use of state-owned land through efficient management, and to increase the value of state property by promoting active use of state-owned land through linkage of state-owned and public land and private participation, etc. It appears that the policy is being pursued in the direction of suppressing the sale of state-owned land in the country. To promote the effective use of state-owned land, it is necessary to establish a clear policy direction first. In addition, the establishment of a transparent information disclosure system and the establishment of a strong control tower capable of coordinating interests between ministries are required. The starting point of policy establishment for efficient use of state-owned land is to change the perception that the actual owner of state-owned land is the people.

  • 1. The experiment was carried out for investigating the interaction between potassium nutrition and thermoperiod (as an environment regulating factor) in relation to behaviors of several nutrients including phosphorus-32 and Potassium-42 in IPOMOEA BATAS. 2. To obtain same condition to trace the behaviors of phosphorus and potassum-42 they were simultaneously incorporated to roots. The determination of each CPM by counting twice with adequate interval and calculating true CPM of each isotope according to different half-life, was carried out with satisfactory. 3. Some specific symptoms i.e, chlorosis and withering of growing point under the condition of lower potassium level were found and was accelerated by the low night temperature. 4. A manganese shortage in growing point of the lower potassium level was found by activiation analysis and very low distribution ratio of phosphorus-32 and potassium-42 in the growing point of the lower potassium level was manifested, though the contents of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and magnesium were not in great difference. 5. In addition to the low water content with appearence of "hard", shorterning internode and lower ratio of roots to shoot as well as the symptoms of potassium deficiency such as brown spot in leaf blade and necrosis of leaf margin were appeared at later stage of experiment at the lower potassium level. 6. Very stimulating vegetative growth, e.g, large plant length, leaf expansion, increasing node number and fresh weight as well as high ratio of roots to shoot, high water content was resulted in the condition of higher potassium level. 7. A specific interaction between higher potassium level and thermoperiod was found, that is, the largest tuber production and the largest ratio of roots to shoot were resulted in the combined condition of higher potassium level and constant temperature while the largest plant length, fresh weight etc. i.e. the most stimulative vegetative growth was resulted in the combined condition of higher potassium level and low night temperature. 8. Comparatively low water content in the former condition of stimulative tuber production was resulted(especially at the tuber thickening stage), while high water content in the latter condition of stimulative vegetation was resulted though the higher potassium level made generally high water contents. 9. The nitrogen contents of soluble and insoluble did not make distinct difference between the lower and higher potassium level. 10. Though the phosphorus contents were not distinctly different by the potassium level, the lower potassium level made the percentage of phosphorus increased at tuber forming stage accumulating more phosphorus in roots, while the higher potassium level decreased percentage of phosphorus at that stage. 11. The higher potassium level made distinctly high potassium contents than the lower potassium level and increased contents at the tuber forming stage through both conditions. 12. The sodium contents were low in the condition of higher potassium level than the lower potassium level and decreased at tuber forming stage in both conditions, on the contary of potassium. 13. Except the noticeable deficeney of manganese in the growing point of the lower potassium level, mangense and magnesium contents in other organs did not make distinct difference according to the potassium level. 14. Generally more uptake and large absorption rate of phosphorus-32 and potassium-42 were resulted at the higher potassium level, and the most uptake, and the largest absorption rate of phosphorus and potassium-42 (especially potassium-42 at tuber forming stage) were resulted in the condition of higher potassium level and constant temperature which made the highest tuber production. 15. The higher potassium level stimulated the translocation of phoshorus-32 and potassium-42 from roots to shoots while the lower potassium level suppressed or blocked the translocation. 16. Therefore, very large distribution rate of $p^{32}$, $K^{42}$ in shoot, especially, in growing point, compared with roots was resulted in the higher potassium level. 17. The lower potassium level suppressed the translocation of phosporus-32 from roots to shoot more than that of potassium-42. 18. The uptake of potassium-42 and translocation in IPOMOEA BATATAS were more vivid than phosphorus-32. 19. A specific interaction between potassium nutrition and thermoperiod which resulted the largest tuber production etc. was discussed in relation to behaviors of minerals and potasium-42 etc. 20. Also, the specific effect of the lower and higher potassium level on the growth pattern of IPOMOEA BATATAS were discussed in relation to behaviors of minerals and isotopes. 21. An emphasize on the significance of the higher potassium level as well as the interaction with the regulating factor and problem of potassium level (gradient) for crops product ion were discussed from the point of dynamical and variable function of potassium.
