Fabrication of RFID TAG Micro Pattern Using Ultrasonic Convergency Vibration (초음파 융합진동을 이용한 미세패턴성형 기술 연구)

  • In this study, we developed a micropattern technology in the shape of RFID TAG antenna using ultrasonic micropattern manufacturing system developed to enable micropattern technology. The ultrasonic tool horn in longitudinal vibration mode was installed in the micropattern manufacturing system to develop the ultrasonic press technology for the micropattern antenna shape of the RFID TAG antenna shape on the insulating sheet surface. The ultrasonic shaping technology was manufactured by applying the resonance design technique to a 60kHz tool horn, and by using the micropattern manufacturing system, the coil wire having a thickness of 25㎛ can be ultrasonically press-molded on an insulating sheet of 200㎛ or less. In ultrasonic press technology, the antenna shape having a minimum line width of 150㎛ could be molded without disconnection, peeling, or twisting of the coil wire.

Modal Analysis of an Ultrasonic Tool Horn for RFID TAG Micro-pattern Forming (RFID TAG 미세패턴 성형을 위한 공구혼 진동해석)

  • In this paper, the theoretical research and simulation using the Finite Element Method (FEM) to design and form a micro-pattern for an ultrasonic horn is described. The present method is based on an initial design estimate obtained by FEM analysis. The natural and resonant frequencies required for the ultrasonic tool horn used for forming the fine pattern were predicted by finite element analysis. FEM analysis using ANSYS S/W was used to predict the resonant frequency for the optimum technical design of the ultrasonic horn vibration mode shape. When electrical power is supplied to the ultrasonic transducer, it is converted into mechanical movement energy, leading to vibration. The RFID TAG becomes the pattern formed on the insulating sheet by using the longitudinal vibration energy of the ultrasonic tool horn. The FEM analysis result is then incorporated into the optimal design and manufacturing of the ultrasonic tool horn.

Prediction of the Failure Stress of Tofu Texture Using a Delay Time of Ultrasonic Wave (초음파의 지연 시간을 이용한 두부 조직의 물성변화 예측에 관한 연구)

  • Changes in the physical properties of soybean curd upon the processing conditions such as coagulant concentration, heating temperature and molding pressure were determined by using a failure stress and residual delay time of ultrasonic wave(5 MHz). Maximum failure stress of Tofu was obtained at the 0.3% $CaCl_2$ coagulant concentration, $95^{\circ}C$ heating temperature and greater molding pressure, respectively, whereas the delay time is inverse proportion to the failure stress value. The results of the multiple regression analysis with factorial design showed that the model equation consisted with delay time and processing conditions gave the good prediction of the Tofu failure stress.

  • Ultrasonic imprinting is a novel process for replicating micropatterns on thermoplastic polymer substrates with low energy consumption and short cycle time. The polymer substrate is softened by the frictional heat and repetitive deformation energy under ultrasonic excitation; thus, a number of micropatterns are replicated on the softened polymer substrate. In the present work, the effect of mold temperature on the replication characteristics of ultrasonic imprinting is investigated. The temperature change in the patterned region is measured by varying the mold temperature. Numerical simulation is then performed for investigating pattern replication characteristics under various mold temperatures. In addition, pattern replication ratio and uniformity are compared through various experimental measurements. Through the results of these comparisons, it is found that the mold temperature has a significant positive effect on the replication characteristics of ultrasonic imprinting.

  • Ultrasonic imprinting is a micropattern replication technology for a thermoplastic polymer surface that uses ultrasonic vibration energy; it has the advantages of a short cycle time and low energy consumption. Recently, ultrasonic imprinting has been further developed to extend its functionality: (i) selective ultrasonic imprinting using mask films and (ii) repetitive ultrasonic imprinting for composite pattern development. In this study, selective ultrasonic imprinting was combined with repetitive imprinting in order to replicate versatile micropatterns. For this purpose, a repetitive imprinting technology was further extended to utilize mask films, which enabled versatile micropatterns to be replicated using a single mold with micro-prism patterns. The replicated hybrid micropatterns were optically evaluated through laser light images, which showed that versatile optical diffusion characteristics can be obtained from the hybrid micropatterns.

Replication of Polyethylene Nano-Microstructures Using Ultrasonic Forming (초음파성형을 이용한 폴리에틸렌 나노 마이크로 구조물의 복제)

  • Nano-micro hierarchical structures that nanoprotrusions were formed on the network-type microstructures were fabricated using an ultrasonic vibration forming technology. A commercial ultrasonic welding system was used to apply ultrasonic vibration energy. To evaluate the formability of ultrasonic vibration forming, nickel nano-micro hierarchical mold was fabricated and polyethylene (PE) was used as the replication material. The optimal molding time was 3.5 sec for PE nano-micro hierarchical structures. The molding process was conducted at atmospheric pressure.

  • 낮은 점도를 갖는 단위체(monomer)나 반응성이 있는 올리고머(oligomer)를 이용한 생산속도가빠른 반응사출성형(reaction injection molding)은 일반적인 열가소성 고분자 재료의 사출성형(thermoplastic modding)에 비하여 기계 설비비용을 상당 히 감소시킬 수 있는 장점을 갖으며, 매우 크고 복잡한 형태의 제품을 가공하기가 용이하고, 특히짧은 가공주기(cycle time) 에 부합하는 금형 내에서의 빠른 종합반응이 특징이다. 본 연구는 반응사출성형용 폴리우레탄을 이용한 미세포 포옴의 가공 시 초음파 가진의 영향에대한 이론적 해석과 반응사출 성형을 모사할 수 있는 실험장치에의해 가공되어지는 시편의 파단면을 전자주사현미경에 의해 관찰함으로써 기포의 크기를 조절할 수 있는 가능성에 대한 고찰이 목적이다.

  • 집속음장의 고조파성분을 이용한 초음파영상의 특성을 해석하기 위해 집속된 가우스 음원에 직선 edge를 초점면 및 초점면의 전, 후방에 삽입하여 edge의 후방에서 생성되는 음장을 조사하였다. 계산에서는 그린함수의 간단화를 위해 Fresnel근사를 이용하였고, 실험에서는 성형전극을 형성시킨 1.9MHz 요면진동자에 의한 가우스분포의 음장을 갖는 초음파빔에 수직하게 edge를 삽입시켰다. 음장의 이론해석 및 실험결과, 초점면의 제2고조파의 빔형상을 제외하고는 계산치와 실험치가 잘 일치하고 있으며, 제2고조파의 공간 분해능이 기본파에 비해 높음을 알았다.

  • Ultrasonic C-scan technique is one of very popular techniques being used for detection of flaws in polymer matrix composite(PMC). However, the application of this technique is very limited for evaluation of defects in PMC fabricated by the automated fiber placement process. The purpose of this study is to develop a novel ultrasonic hybrid system based on nondestructive and non-contact ultrasonic techniques for evaluation of delamination in carbon/epoxy and carbon/PPS composite laminates. It was shown that the newly developed ultrasonic hybrid system based on dual air-coupled pitch-catch technique with ultrasonic scattering reflection concept could provide excellent image with higher resolution of delamination in PMC compared with the conventional pitch-catch method. It is expected that this ultrasonic hybrid technique can be applied for on-line inspection of flaws in PMC during the fabrication process.
