  • We study the level on the knowledge, attitudes, and practice of primary school (grades 3-6 students ) for the safe use of smart devices, and identify student status for the safe use of smart devices, and suggests ways of appropriate data collection, analyzing of data. Through this research, for the safe use of smart devices in education showed that the effect is very insignificant and the knowledge and practice of smart devices are widely recognized. We will suggests the suitable education contents for the smart devices safe use for primary school students. These education will be made up of 'smart devices safety using' and we will expect that primary students will be able to cultivate the 'smart devices security awareness'.

  • Functional thinking, which focuses on the relationship between two or more varying quantities, is one of the key strands of algebraic thinking. This article is a case study that aimed to investigate how 3rd grade elementary students might make their functional thinking. The results showed that students not only understood the functional situation well but also created a record of the corresponding values of quantities, typically using descriptive writings and pictures. But when they tried to find a pattern and make a generalization, the students showed various difficulties. This paper concludes with implications on how to promote students' functional thinking from early grades in the elementary school.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of self-encouragement activities on elementary students' adaptation to school life. Two classes were sampled among 5th grade at Y elementary school in Gwangju Metropolitan city. One class was assigned to experimental group and the other class was assigned to control group. Experimental group had 8 sessions of self-encouragement activities. To prove the effect of self-encouragement activities, data were collected through pre and post test on adaptation to school life of the students, and were analysed via ANCOVA. The results of this study are following; First, the experimental group had improved significantly in school adaptability than the control group. Second, there was showed significant improvement in teacher-student relationship adaptation, peer relationship adaptation, classwork adaptation, school rule adaptation in the experimental group.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the film in gender equality education classes for elementary school students. For this study an experiment was conducted with students to gender equality education lessons in the 5th grade of Seongwhan elementary school in Cheonan. It was to observe whether the student's gender consciousness changes with the same questionnaire in the starting lesson and the last lesson of gender equality education. Observations of gender equality education with film are very effective for elementary school students. Therefore, this paper is to share the following results. First, this study is a model of teaching gender equality education through film that would be proposed. Second, using film gender equality education lessons will be conducted in a real elementary school. The satisfaction of students will be examined. Third, using film to demonstrate the effectiveness of gender equality classes would be. Finally, the use of film in teaching of gender equality according to the curriculum would be proposed.

  • In this study, we analyzed the effects of data visualization education with using Python on the improvement of computing thinking ability of the 6th grade students of elementary school. Based on the results of the needs analysis of 60 elementary school teachers and 120 elementary school students, we developed the data visualization education program. In the developed educational program, 24 elementary school students were trained for 6 days and 36 hours in total. Thereafter, students were subjected to pre- and post-comparison tests. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the data visualization education with using Python is effective in improving the Computational cognition, Fluency, Originality, Elaboration of the 6th grade students in elementary school.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the statistical literacy in elementary school students when they beginning inference. Picto-graphs provide statistical information and often data-related arguments they certainly qualify as objects for interpretation, for critical evaluation, and for discussion or communication of the conclusions presented. For research, the inference from pictograph task was designed and statistical literacy standards for evaluating the student's level was presented based on prior studies. Evaluating student's statistical literacy is meaningful in that it can check their current level. To know the student's current level can help them achieve a higher level of performance. The outcomes of this research indicate that pictograph can provide a basis for rich tasks displaying not only student's counting skills but also their appreciation of variation and uncertainty in prediction. Raising statistical thinking by students is an important goal in statistical education, and the experience of informal statistical reasoning can help with formal statistical reasoning that will be learned later. Therefore, the task about the inference from a pictograph, discussions on statistical learning of elementary school children are expected to present meaningful implications for statistical education.

  • In this study, an unplugged education method which focuses on the data visualization training was applied to third grade students of an elementary school and analyzed its impact on enhancing their computational thinking. The analysis was conducted on 60 elementary school teachers and 124 third grade students and the unplugged education program based on the data visualization procedure was developed. The education program developed was carried out with 24 third grade students for 36 hours over six days. The effect of the program applied was analyzed through the pre-to-post comparison performed with perceptive strength test and creativity test in order to examine the enhancement in computational thinking. According to the analysis result, the unplugged education method which focuses on the data visualization training has significant effect on the 'computational perception' and 'creativity' of third grade students.

  • Mathematics anxiety is a term for emotional and physical resistance to mathematics. Understanding students' mathematics anxiety is important not only in terms of improving mathematics academic achievement, but also in nurturing mathematics manpower necessary for the future society. In particular, mathematics anxiety is most likely to occur in elementary school, and it has a negative effect on subsequent learning. Therefore, it is important to understand the aspects of students' mathematics anxiety in elementary school. In this study, I presented the patterns of changes in students' mathematics anxiety over time and statistically verified them. As a result of a follow-up survey of 249 elementary school students' mathematics anxiety for 3 years from 4th to 6th grade, it was found that, rather than having a special pattern related to the formation of math anxiety, it may increase and decrease and vary depending on individual confirmed. Later, in this study, five patterns of Mathematics anxiety patterns were identified through statistical analysis. In addition, I confirmed that the students' interest about teachers' mathematics lessons was consistently influencing the change in mathematics anxiety. The results of this study will increase students' understanding of the formation of mathematics anxiety and can be used as basic data for the development of teaching and learning materials related to mathematics anxiety in the future and subsequent research.
