The purposes of this study were to classify the upper half of body somatotype and analyze the characteristics of each somatotype. The subjects of survey were 272 elementary school boys of 11 to 12 years old living in Pusan and Kyungsangnam-do. Datas were collected through 36 anthropometric measurements and 7 photographic measurements. They were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance. The results of the study were as follows : 1. According to the factor analysis. seven factors were extracted from measurements of the upper half of body and those factors comprised 79.62% of total variance. Specially factor 1 was characterized sectional size and factor 2 was characterized longitudinal size comprised 58.83% of total variance. 2. According to the cluster analysis, the upper half of body somatotype was classified four types : Boys in type 1 had quite high stature and big frame, broadest and most sloping shoulders, flattest chest and belly, quite protruded shoulder blades boys in type 2 had quite short stature and small frame, quite broad and most rising shoulder, most protruded belly, quite protruded shoulder blades boys in type 3 had shortest stature, smallest frame, narrowest and quite rising shoulders, most protruded chest, flattest shoulder blade and quite flat belly : boys in type 4 had highest stature, biggest frame, most protruded shoulder blades and quite protruded chest and belly.
Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc.. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with somato type by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results were obtained three somato type. Also I made skirts in order to analyzed to the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The effect of somato type on the shape of flare skirts was determined by the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. Results for flare skirts show changes in amplitude and mean with fabrics, somato type. therefore gray-level histogram are correlated with changes out-line space-shape, differences in drape spacing and related fabric properties and their somato type. The purpose of this study was to modify a Flared Skirt for women according to the somatotype of lower body. The subjects for the wear test were 3 students, who were in mean${\pm}1{\sigma}$ each somatotype. As seen in the study, it was found out that there was a difference in three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body even in the group of whom the body heights, measured by Martin's system, are alike. Due to such a difference in the three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body, it was found out to be a difference in drapability of the flare skirts. In order to have better fitness of the lower part of the body and to raise the visual effect, therefore, it is suggested that there need to develop a new model of the flare skirts considering three dimensional shape of the lower part of the body for the wearer or to take complementary measures for each body shape in case of applying traditional model.

Lower body type of middle-aged(40 to 59) women was analyzed to develop body type-specific slacks. The analysis has four factors. Factor one is hip and leg type. Factor two is lower body height and length. Factor three is waist type, and factor four is hip length. By conducting a cluster analysis with scores of four factors, it came to have three types of classifications. Type one is a rectangular-shaped slim type. Women of this type have a high and lengthy lower body and middle-length hip. They have thin and small legs, their lower body is the longest, and the smallest with small curve among three types. Type two is the diamond-shaped obese type. They have a high and long lower body and legs are medium they are the most obese type. Type three is the large, trapezoidal-shaped, slightly overweight type. They have the longest and the biggest leg and hip. But the length and height of the lower body is the shortest among the three, and the hip is small. Legs are the thickest and shortest. The hip is big compared with the waist and is the longest. They have big hips and thick legs.

This study classified short adult male body types and identified characteristics by body type according to Size Korea's 7th human system measurement data for men in their 20s to 60s. There were four body types for short adult males. Type 1 was a 'short bird legs-normal body shape' with an average body size, low body height, short torso length, thin legs, and no sagging shoulders. Type 2 was a 'short torso thin body' with a small body size, a slim body, a high body height, a short torso length and no sagging shoulders. Type 3 was a 'thick leg-overweight body shape' with a large body size, thick legs, low body height, small shoulder length and obesity. Type 4 was a 'long bird legs-normal body' with a normal body size, high body height, thin legs, long torso and sagging shoulders. The development of clothing design and pattern reflecting the body shape characteristics of short adult males should be improved to fit clothing and suitability. It is necessary to increase the satisfaction of ready-to-wear for consumers with various body types by adding the size for shorter men through a subdivision of the ready-made size system.
This study aimed to analyze adult men's body sizes and shapes and suggest size specifications to provide preliminary data to academia and industries. A total of 814 adult men aged 30-44 were selected from the 7th Size Korea data, and 55 direct upper body measurement and calculation items were analyzed using SPSS 25.0. In individual Individual differences, thickness, circumference, and width were high, and height and length were low. Height above the waist base line and shoulder dimension decreased in early 40s age group, while height below the waist base line declined as age increased. In addition, buttocks shape changes were found in early 40s age group. According to factor analysis, 'upper body and upper-extremity horizontal size', 'torso height and upper extremity length', 'shoulder dimension', 'upper body length' and 'shoulder angle' were derived. Using clustering analysis, four different body types were classified: i) big abdomen with flat chest, ii) slender with big, raised shoulders, iii) dwarfish with small, droopy shoulders, and iv) obese with large shoulders. 'Slender with big, raised shoulders' was a typical body shape among men aged 30-44. In older participants, the 'big abdomen with flat chest' ratio was low, while 'obese with large shoulders' was more common. This study proposed size specifications by body type considering the above characteristics.
This study sought to typify and characterize the upper body shape of women with large breasts by classifying only Korean adult women aged 20-69 years whose difference dimension between bust and underbust circumference was 12.5 cm or greater. This study attempted to provide necessary information for the development of upper body clothing for women with large busts. Upper body horizontal, upper body height, shoulder size, upper body length, and shoulder slop factor were extracted to constitute upper body shapes of women with large busts. Upper body shapes of women with large busts were classified into four types: low obese upper body tall body type, high normal upper body short body type, drooping shoulders slender upper body tall body type, and broad shoulders slender upper body short body type. Upper body proportions of women with and without large busts were analyzed as follows. Women with large breasts had narrower shoulder width compared to bust width and waist width. Their underbust and waist circumferences were larger than their bust circumferences. For the development of tops for women with large busts, bodice pattern development was required, taking into account shoulder width, chest, and upper body length. Future studies should focus on angles of busts in more detail. Research should be conducted on the development of bodice by upper body type of women with large busts analyzed.

The aim of this study was to analyze and typify the body shape of tall women aged 20-69 using 3D measurement data from the 2020 8th Human Dimensions Survey data with greater than 165.0 cm in height defined as large stature. Each body type's characteristics were examined to derive points of differentiation compared to women of average body type. The analysis showed that as height increases, body height, length, and generally body circumference, thickness, and width also increase. However, taller women were found to have thinner waists, indicating a wider, flatter waist area. Waist circumference was also smaller, albeit not at a statistically significant level. Body shapes of adult women over 165.0 cm tall were classified into three types. The following body types were analyzed: thick ankles and drooping shoulders, thin and short torso, tall and long, long torso and thick ankles, large body circumference, thickness and width, normal torso length, and short stature and thin ankles. To develop garments for adult women over 165.0 cm tall, a new drafting method was required set the waist, knee height, and shoulder width.

This study attempted to typify the shoulder and arm morphology of adult males by analyzing the shoulder and arm-related items by obesity level for adult males aged 20 to 69 years. I also examined the typified shoulder and arm characteristics and attempted to analyze the types by obesity level for each age group. The shoulders and arms of adult males were categorized into four types: broad, drooping shoulders with thin, long arms; narrow, drooping shoulders with thick, long arms; broad, rising shoulders with short, thick arms; and narrow, rising shoulders with short, thin arms. The underweight group had a higher percentage of Type 1 in their 20s, 30s, and 60s, and a higher percentage of Type 4 in their 40s. The normal weight group was analyzed as having a higher percentage of type 1 in their 20s and 30s, and a higher percentage of type 4 in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. Obese group was analyzed as having a higher percentage of type 3 in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and a higher percentage of type 4 in their 50s and 60s.
The purpose of this research is to compare and contrast the structural types and the patterned characteristics on the weight management of female college students by making subjective and interpretative approaches based on Q methodology, which identifies the subjectivity regarding the weight management of female college students. Subjects are categorized into three different types after the forceful classification of the forty-one Q samples selected as P samples from the thirty-nine female college students. They are as follows: the first is 'the negative body image type that attempts compusive weight control, the second is 'the health-care-seeking type that maintains consistent weight management', and the third is 'the ego-certain type that can self-control weigh management'. As a result of this research, structural differences were found among the three different types, which can be utilized as basic resources for the behavior of desirable and righteous weight management.
