  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the types of questions raised by pre-service elementary teachers when planning a science class utilizing smart technology and the characteristics of their lesson plans. For this purpose, lesson plans and questions written by the 96 pre-service teachers were collected. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: (1) Pre-service teachers used simulation apps, information offering apps, clicker evaluation apps, astronomical observation apps. Simulation apps and clicker evaluation apps were used the most in the introduction stage of the class, simulation apps in the development stage, and clicker evaluation apps in the finishing stage. (2) In the lesson plans, the activities that elementary school students use smart technology showed more than those used by teachers, and its characteristics were more prominent in the development stage of the class. (3) As for the content type of smart technology, experience type was the highest, followed by tool type and resource type. In comparison, there were relatively few interaction support types and learning opportunity extensions. (4) There were many cases in which pre-service teachers replaced elementary school students with virtual experiences using experience type instead of providing opportunities to experiment or experience directly. (5) Pre-service teachers asked various questions while planning science class utilizing smart technology, and a total of 25 question types appeared in 7 categories.

  • The aim of this study is to classify the structure levels and types of the reading program in the secondary school library. The object of analysis is the practice case of the reading program included in 'Occupying School Library by 1318 Bookworms' for recently 10 years. There are 375 cases. According to the analysis result, most of the reading programs have three layers made up of 'blend title- reading activities- educational activities'. And there are classified into eight types (lecture, viewing, presentation, exhibition, making sth, debating, answering a quiz, experience) of the reading activities. The type of reading program depend on how to combine to the educational activities(reading, writing, listening, watching, speaking, making). This attribute of educational activities match up with modularity, completeness itself and organizing system. Through modular process of educational activities, it's possible to design their own reading programs based on the reading activity by adding, compensating other educational activities.

  • Recently, many researchers have studied on agent-based edutainment systems to improve students' learning experience. In this paper, we present AR Gardening which makes users experience interactive flower gardening with a bluebird, a learning companion agent, squatting in an augmented picture. The proposed system augments the animated bluebird to support interactive edutainment experiences. The bluebird perceives users' actions as well as environmental situations. It then appraises situational information to provide participants with problem-solving guidelines. Moreover, the bluebird responds like a companion than an instructor through anthropomorphic expression. To demonstrate our work, we exhibited the implemented AR Gardening and reviewed participants' responses to the system. In this exhibition, we could find that the learning companion-like bluebird helped users experience how to properly grow the flower in our educational setting. Ultimately, we expect that an augmented peer learning agent is one of the key factors for developing effective edutainment applications.

  • Safety accidents in the construction industry account for the highest percentage of all industries; and thus, it is encouraged to introduce a virtual reality (VR)-based experiential education system into the basic occupational safety and health training for construction as a way to solve the problem. However, there are some limitations such as a lack of competent workforce, and insufficient content and equipment for VR-based construction safety education. In this background, this study aimed to analyze the difference in learning effect between the CG-based experiential VR education (direct method, type B) and the existing photo-based audiovisual VR education (indirect method, type A), in which a CAMIL (Cognitive & Affective Model of Immersive Learning) theory was used as objective assessment tool. The learning effect of the direct education method (type B) was found to be superior to that of the indirect education method (type A) in terms of all areas in the CAMIL theory. It is expected that the VR-based experiential construction safety education will increase the learning effect of construction workers.

  • There is a growing interest in the technology transfer and commercialization both at home and abroad. Accordingly, this study looked at the concept of technology transfer and commercialization, identified the factors that should be taken into account in order to facilitate technology transfer and commercialization, and then performed a empirical analysis. As for the conventional technology transfer and commercialization, there was a tendency to limit its scope to the exploration, transfer and commercialization of technology itself. Here in this research, technology transfer and commercialization is defined the category to expand as various activities implemented in order to make sure that intellectual properties such as intangible technological developments, know-how, and knowledge are transferred between the relevant parties through a contract or negotiation, and the party to which the transfer is made can then further develop and exploit the technology into tangible products and other activities to obtain economic benefit out of that. In addition, the findings of the positive analysis of technology transfer and commercialization revealed that the focus of facilitating technology transfer has been on the technology itself, its management and securing efficiency of the systems and institutions involved in the technology transfer and commercialization. So there was lack of recognition as to the importance of financial support given to the phase of technology commercialization. This indicates that when it comes to the technology transfer and commercialization, quantitative performance has been the focus of interest such as patent application, registration, number of technology transfers, royalty, etc. So there was not enough understanding as to the issues of starting up a business, creating quality jobs through technology transfer and commercialization, which are directly related to the realization of the creative economy. In this regard, this research is expected to be used for the development for the future policies to boost technology transfer and commercialization as it suggests not only simply ensuring quantitative performance but also necessary to create the environment for the creation of the stable ecosystem for the parties involved in the technology transfer and commercialization and then to build circumstances in which creative economy can be realized.
