Data were collected from 581 college students of Korea, and 100 college students of Cairns of Australia. As a result, The overall mean of the CPGI was significantly different between Koreans and Australians (t=-29.828**). As for classification of gamblers by sub-type of CPGI, the number of problem gamblers in Australians was 7.0% compared to 5.3% for Koreans, showing a significant difference. In Multiple regression analyses, irrational beliefs, happiness, and the frequency of gambling significantly predicted problem gambling of Koreans (R2 = 0.175 F = 23.441, p < .001). On the other hands, irrational beliefs and the frequency of gambling significantly predicted problem gambling of Australians(R2 = 0.368, F = 10.844, p < .001). Through this study, it was found that the factors affecting the problem gamblers of Korean and Australian are different. • This study investigated the effects of self-esteem on the depression of baby boomer and eco-boomer generation (the children of baby boomers) living alone. It was identified from the point of view of comparison between the two groups. Using the 15th data of the 2020 Korea Welfare Panel, an independent sample t-test and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted with the data of baby boomers who live alone (born in 1955-1963) and eco-boomers who live alone (born in 1979-1992). The results of this study show that baby boomers who live alone had lower levels of education, income, and health condition than the eco-boomers who live alone, and had higher level of depression, but relatively lower level of self-esteem. In both groups, self-esteem had an effect on depression, but it was confirmed that the influence was greater in the group of baby boomers (Adjusted R2 .259) than in eco-boomers (Adjusted R2 .083). Based on the results of this study, practical and policy alternatives were suggested to prevent the depression among middle-aged, elderly people, and young adults who live alone.

  • Startup enterprises are expanding at an alarming rate in both industrialized and developing countries simultaneously. Many difficulties confront young entrepreneurs in terms of organizational and human resource management. As a result, it is critical to research startup enterprises because they have received little attention from the scientific community. In this study, we solely considered new startup enterprises operating at the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) level in a developing country (Pakistan). The information was gathered through a survey method from ten businesses located in the metropolitan metropolis of Lahore. The correlation analysis was conducted to determine whether or not the hypothesized relationship between research variables was true. We discovered a positive and statistically significant association between all of the proposed hypotheses. The findings of this study have significant implications for industry, academics, and policymakers.

  • This study aims to understand and to infer the implications from the career preparation experiences of low-income university students in the context of high youth unemployment rate and the polarization of the social classes. For this purpose, we selected 13 university students who received scholarship from the S scholarship foundation and conducted analysis using text mining techniques based on the six-time interviews. According to the results, university students seem to be influenced by home environment and income level when recalling previous academic experience or designing career during the interview process. Also, these differences were found to have different characteristics according to gender and major. This study is meaningful in that the qualitative research data is analyzed by applying the text mining technique in a convergent way. As a result, the college life and career preparation of low-income university students were explored through the frequency and relation of words.

  • While same-sex marriage is officially legal in 28 countries, widespread discrimination continues against people in the LGBTQ community in Confucian Asian countries. This study examines how media exposure affects attitudes towards gay men using the cultivation theory in China, where LGBTQ issues are still censored in media. Moreover, this study looks into the immediate effect of watching gay content on attitudes towards a friend's coming out. Based on the survey of 236 young adults aged 18-22, the study results showed that heavy viewers of gay content and female had a more favorable attitude towards gay men. Furthermore, while the participants favored non-gay content, those who viewed gay content were more supportive of a friend's coming out than those who watched non-gay content. The findings indicated the cultivation effect on attitude towards same-sex relationships in a Confucian Asian country that can be used to foster a more inclusive society.

  • Recently, organizations are increasing their investment to protect information resources from information security(IS) threats through the adoption of IS policies and technologies. However, IS incidents occur in a variety of ways, such as intrusions from outside the organization and exposure to the inside. Our study presented the negative effects of IS role stress on organizational insiders and suggested factors from the organizational and individual perspectives for mitigating IS role stress. We conducted a survey on employees of companies that introduced and applied IS policies to their work and tested the hypothesis using 329 samples. As a result, IS organization justice reduced IS role stress and strengthened IS positive psychological capital, thereby affecting the IS compliance intention of employees. Also, IS positive psychological capital moderated the relationship between IS stress and IS compliance intention. This study contributes to the achievement of internal IS goals by suggesting the conditions that affect the IS compliance behavior of employees in terms of the organizational environment and individual characteristics

  • Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) is the biodiversity working group of the Arctic Council. CAFF conducts Monitoring, Assessment, Policy, and expert group activities to preserve Arctic biodiversity and ensure the sustainability of biological resources and communicates the results to governments and indigenous peoples. The main tasks of CAFF consist of monitoring (Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program), assessment (Arctic Biodiversity Assessment) and strategic projects(Arctic Migratory Bird Initiative, AMBI). Korea has been directly participating in the AMBI since 2015 after acquiring observer status of the Arctic Council in 2013. The AMBI aims to preserve habitats on migration routes used by breeding birds in the Arctic and prevent illegal hunting. Thus, observer countries on migratory routes are directly participating in the project. When selecting priorities for participation in Arctic cooperation projects by 2030, Korea should consider continuing participation in AMBI and participating in the "CAFF Youth Program" in connection with the Arctic Academy program operated by Korea's public institutes.

  • Recently, 'Apartment community facilities' have emerged as the most optional factor in the apartment market, and their level is becoming very important. Therefore, this study derived each type through latent profile analysis centering on health-related community facilities in 126 domestic main apartment complexes, and as a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that it was divided into a Pilates group, GX and Yoga group, Golf and Table Tennis practice range group, and overall low group. Among the four groups, Pilates, GX, and yoga groups are more likely to belong to Gangnam, Seocho and Songpa compared to complexes with many golf and table tennis practice ranges, and at the same time, the transaction price is also the highest. Through these analysis results, it was suggested that changes in the preference for leisure activities should be reflected when constructing community facilities, and that health-related community facilities should be deeply considered in residential welfare policies in consideration of high preference for fitness facilities in youth housing.
