Traffic Transmission Performance of Railway Communication Network based on 5G (5G 기반 철도 통신망의 트래픽 전송 성능)

  • Recently, mobile communication technology has new eras with supply of 5G commercial communication. 5G mobile communication service is currently supplied with city area, services will be quickly expanded to entire area of country. This mmWave based 5G mobile communication is under spreading for human communication with voice and Internet service. After completion of construction of this human communication, this technology will be expanded to industrial communications. Railway communication system is an example of this industrial communications. In this, performance of traffic transmission for railway communication network based on this 5G railway communication networks will be analyzed with computer simulations. Construction requirements of 5G railway communication networks will be suggested with this analysis results.

  • One of railway communication technology, LTE(Long Term Evolution) based LTE-R(LTE-Railway) is rapidily adopted to supply various control signal and to supply diverse communication service be needed for safety operation of train. In this paper, railway communication technology and service based on LTE-R is studied. And domestic an international standardization trends of related on railway communications are investigated. Results of this study can be used as basic data for research of railway communication based on LTE-R and development of railway communication systems.

  • The railroad is one of the most popular means of transport. Howerver, railroad agencies are managing the railroad information and provide its service respectively. That is, because of managing the different information and its type, The user will not receive the correct and integrated information. In this study, We figure out the needs of passengers that they want in railroad service and seek an integrated service plan that railroad passengers can use the railroad information service at a time, at a glance and in one place. Also, we investigate the knowledge-base construction to provide a knowledge map service to railroad passengers.

  • 무선통신에 대한 기술이 급격하게 진화함에 따라, 철도 무선통신도 VHF나 TETRA에서 GSM으로 진보되었고, 현재는 LTE 기반으로 변화하고 있다. 이런 흐름 속에서, 본 고에서는, LTE 로 발전 되는 철도 무선망을 QoS(Quality Of Service) 관리 및 이동통신망 과는 다른 관점에서 철도통신(LTE-Railway)에서 추가되어야 할 요구사항 및 거기에 다른 요소 기술들을 살펴본다. LTE-R 시스템에서는 음성, 영상, 열차제어 등 모든 종류의 진보된 철도 서비스에 대해서 통합된 형태로 안정적이고 신뢰성 있은 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이런 요구사항을 만족시키기 위해서는 일반 이동통신망과는 다른 접근으로 LTE-R을 개발할 필요가 있다. 본 고에서는 LTE 기반 철도통신망과 이동통신망의 다른 요구사항을 기반으로 과 차이점을 QoS(Quality Of Service) 등 철도와 같은 특수 임무형 통신 시스템에서의 요구사항이 적절하고 실용적인지 여부의 검증을 LTE 테스트베드를 실제 철도 영업선 상에 구축을 하고 필드 테스트를 통해서 만족 여부를 검토하였다. 국가적으로 진행되고 있는 LTE 기반 철도 통신망 구축 사업에서 요구하는 통신 기술 사이의 상관관계를 따져봄으로써 LTE-R에서 지원하는 통신 기술이 신뢰도 및 효율성 측면에서 충분한 정도의 기술적인 완성도를 갖추고 있음을 보인다.

  • In high speed railway system, LTE(Long Term Evolution) based LTE-R(LTE-Railray) mobile technology is used to supply various control signal required for safty operation of train. In this paper, railway communication technology be used in railway communication system based on LTE-R is investigated in focused on application services. Standardization trends for LTE-R technology are also considered. Results of this study can be used as basic data for research and development of LTE-R and railway mobile communication.

  • Mobile radio technologies have evolved in the railway industry offering seamless connectivity and various functionalities to improve railway service. Recently, advanced mobile communication technologies have enabled a new level of railway customer services with more efficient railway operation. Since the LTE mobile communication technology offers many benefits and better performance for new railway services, it is considered to be a strong candidate for the future railway mobile telecommunication. However, communication networks in the railway sector are critical for secure operation and have stringent requirements for reliability and safety. In this paper, we explain the requirements for the future railway mobile telecommunication. The LTE, which would be the future railway mobile technology, is analyzed against these requirements. We also introduce the current state of standardization for the future railway mobile telecommunication and its implementation plan.

  • 인터넷을 기반으로 하는 IT의 눈부신 발전과 더불어 언제, 어디서나, 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 인터넷을 사용할 수 있도록 하는 사회적 요구가 구체화 되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 부응하고자 국내에서는 200km 이상의 빠른 속도로 이동 중에 있더라도 초고속인터넷이나 방송 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 위성/무선통신 연동 초고속인터넷 시스템기술을 개발하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같이 개발된 연동시스템을 국내 고속철도(KTX)에 적용하여 서비스를 제공할 때, 관련 시설투자에 대한 경제적 타당성을 검토하고자 한다. 경제성 분석을 위해 현재 유럽에서 이미 제공되고 있는 고속철도 인터넷 서비스를 조사하였고, 국내 고속철의 특성을 감안하여 필요시설과 장비의 항목별 비용분석을 수행하였다. 해외 사례와 비행기 등의 다른 운송수단에서 예상되는 수요 및 요금 수준에 근거하여 고속철도 인터넷서비스 매출을 시나리오별로 산정하였으며, 각각에 대한 순현재가와 수익률을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 하여 위성/무선통신 연동 시스템 기술 개발에 대한 경제적 타당성을 도출할 수 있으며, 서비스 제공 시 마케팅자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The Future Wireless Railway Communication System(FWRCS) has attracted attention for the various advantages of such a system like efficient management, precise periodicity of operation and speedy travel. Related to it, the area of bandwidth requirement estimation for the FWRCS is being researched actively because there is a great need for accurate bandwidth distribution. In this paper, sophisticated bandwidth requirement estimation method for FWRCS is proposed by modifying ITU-R M.1390. With this method, the expected frequency requirements for the present, for five years from now, and for 10 years from now can be calculated by applying the data gathered from the actual field.

  • High speed railway system is progressed to SRN(Smart Railway Network) having entirely automation function beyond each componet automations. It is necessity to use mobile communication technology of LTE-R(Long Term Evolution - Railway) and 5G-R(5th Generation - Railway) and information technology of convergence based on AI, Big Data, Deep Learning to construct this smart railway networks. In this paper, a communication structure is suggested for SRN. This suggested communication structure for SRN is composed to include safety operation of high speed train, railway system management and customer services, and also have complexing function of these each functions. Results of this study can be used for SRN construction and opeation, and development of railway communication standards.
