Work Time Analysis of Rebar Fabrication Method in Beam Construction. (보 철근공사 조립공법별 작업시간분석)

  • The rebar work is a labor intensive construction work with a high labor cost ratio. It is difficult to manage the productivity, construction time, and safety of rebar work. The problem of productivity decreased in rebar construction is due to a lack of workers according to the aged workers. Partial prefabrication rebar can be an alternative solution to productivity decreased in rebar work. The characteristic of partial prefabrication method is that time consuming component such as stirrup of beam assemble in factory and others assemble in site. Therefore, in this study, the time required for each rebar assembly method is measured and analyzed to confirm the possibility of productivity improvement.

  • H-beam and lattice-girder are the two most commonly used steel supports in domestic tunnels. Reinforced Ribs of Shotcrete(R.R.S.), which is frequently used in Scandinavian countries, is yet to be employed in Korea despite its advantages over H-beam or lattice girder in terms of economy and constructional efficiency. In this study, laboratory tests were conducted to determine the most suitable design of R.R.S in domestic tunnels. Various configuration of steel reinforcements including double layer of steel rebars were tested and compared. Reinforcement with H-beam and lattice girder were also analyzed. Results of this study can be of great use in selecting and designing of tunnel supports when the tunnel is excavated by NATM or Norwegian Method of Tunnelling(NMT).

  • The proportion of rebar factory manufacturing which has been settled down in Korea recently seems to increase because of their strength such as high decreasing rate of rebar loss and manufacturing accuracy and the external factors such as an increase of downtown projects and a decrease of skilled workers. However, factory manufacturing using straight rebars causes a certain amount of rebar loss and an environmental problem including $CO_2$ emissions. To solve these problems, Bar in coil (BIC) has been introduced; however its application is very rare because it has not been produced so far in Korea and manufacturing machines of BIC are very expensive. Also, although BIC's application is expected to expand due to its strengths, few analysis of its application has been conducted. Therefore in this study, analysis of the BIC's characteristics and the influence to the rebar manufacturing industry are conducted for the advancement of rebar work as a basic research. To achieve this, inquiry on the present condition of rebar manufacturing industry in Korea is implemented. Then, the validation of BIC's applications by aspects of industry and the analysis of stakeholders' economical profit and loss are conducted.

  • The purpose of this study is to present an improvement of the form work process. The current slab form work has waste factor by unnecessary process and not complete integration with the finishing process. Therefore the study used value stream analysis methodology for effective improvement of slab form work process. The main contents of the study are as follows; 1) Understanding of non-value adding activities in existing slab form work process 2) Process integration by value stream mapping 3) Effect analysis of time-cost reduction. The study recommends that, as a future research, development of tool and technique for the non-value adding activities are eliminated in building construction.

  • The construction industry from the research about materials calculate automation became accomplished plentifully. Material price calculate with application in the CAD plan is more quicker and accurate than with existing handy work. It gives a many effect in development of the research and estimation program against material calculate production automation with application of the CAD. But material calculate production uses an estimate program from generally a framework construction and the material calculate production work becomes accomplished. A thesis of the material calculate production methodology about a part of materials boundary condition from material calculate production work of framework construction is the actual condition which is insufficient. From the dissertation which it sees standardize the concrete, a concrete form a each part of materials calculate method from framework construction material calculate production. It standardize a part of materials agree with a condition of material calculate methodology which from a each part of materials boundary condition.

  • Our nation's housing construction is given much weight over 32% in 2007 and especially apartment is taking over 67%. If we put into construction environment consideration, we are having a trouble with price cap policy and the realestate recession due to the global economic crisis. So in order to get competitive power and supply of cheap apartment, the necessity of cost saving is increasing. This research collected the past constructed apartment project's cost saving examples which were influencing on the construction cost, quality and time. We analyzed collected cost saving datum and assorted these in compliance with classification system. By analysis of correlation among datum with exclusion and integration, we make a propose cost saving Checklist that will be a base data to give a chance to use in working level and other research.

  • ACS(Automatic Climbing System) 거푸집은 당 현장에서 코어 월 철근 콘크리트 공사시 사용되는 대형 거푸집으로써 상대 플로우 잭에 의해 자동으로 1개 층씩 상승되는 시스템으로 안전난간 및 안전발판을 설치하여 추락, 낙하재해에 대비하였으며 외부에 천막을 설치하여 비산먼지, 소음 등을 방지할 수 있도록 설치/운영 중이다. (그림 1)은 ACS 거푸집의 구성을 나타내었다.(중략)
