An Efficient Method for Interactive Cloth Simulation (효율적인 대화형 천 시뮬레이션 기법)

  • We present an interactive cloth simulation method based on the mass-spring model, which is the most widely used one in the field of cloth animation. We focus especially on the case where relatively strong forces are applied on relatively small number of mass-points. Through distributing the forces on some specific points to the overall mass-points, our method simulates the cloth in pseudo-real time. Given a deformed cloth, we start from resolving the super-elasticity effect using Provot's dynamic inverse method [9]. In the next stage, we adjust the angles between neighboring mass-points, to finally remove the unexpected zigzags due to the previous super-elasticity resolving stage.

Conductive Fabric UHF RFID Tag Antenna Design (전도성 천을 이용한 UHF RFID 태그 안테나 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of a 920 MHz ultra-high frequency(UHF) band radio frequency identification(RFID) conductive fabric tag antenna. The resistance values of four different conductive fabrics are measured, and the conductivities of the fabrics are calculated. The fabric with the best conductivity is selected, and the best conductivity of the fabric is used to simulate the fabric tag antenna design. The fabric UHF RFID tag antenna with a T-Matching structure and name-tag size of $80{\times}40mm$ is simulated and designed. The simulated and measured results are compared, and a laundry test is performed. The reading range of the fabric tag antenna is about 2 m. This fabric tag can be easily applied to an entrance control system as it can be attached to other fabrics and cloths.

  • In these days, 3D dynamic simulation is closely related to many industries. In the past, physically-based 3D simulation was used mainly in the car crash or construction related fields, but it also plays an important role in movies or games today. Many mathematical computations are needed to represent the 3D object realistically, but it is difficult to process a large amount of calculations for simulation of application based on CPU in real-time. Recently, with the advanced graphic hardware and improved architecture, GPU can be utilized for the general purposes of computation function as well as graphic computation. Many approaches using GPU have been applied for various research fields. In this paper, we analyze the performance variation of two cloth simulation algorithms based on GPU according to the change of execution properties of GPU shaders in oder to optimize the performance of GPU-based cloth simulation. Cloth simulation is implemented by the spring centric algorithm and node centric algorithm with GPU parallel computing using compute shader of GLSL 4.3. We compare the performance of between these algorithms according to the change of the size and dimension of work group. The experiment is repeated to 10 times during 5,000 frames for each test and experimental results are provided by averaging of FPS. The experimental result shows that the node centric algorithm is executed in higher speed than the spring centric algorithm.

  • As the performance of computer hardware has been increased in recent years, more realistic computer generated objects can be created and presented in personal computers and portable digital devices as well. For this reason, digital contents, including computer graphics, require virtual objects that are more realistic and representable in real-time on various devices, thus it requires more computational costs. In order to support the production of contents including computer graphics, games, and animations on multi-platform, Unity or unreal engines are mainly used. To represent more realistic behavior of virtual objects in a simulation, a virtual object must collide with other virtual objects and present the plausible interaction, as in the real world. However, such dynamic simulation requires a large amount of computational cost, and most portable devices cannot provide these dynamic simulations in real-time. In this paper, we proposed a GPGPU computation based dynamic cloth simulation to represent collision and response with spherical object in real-time. We believe that the proposed method can be useful for readily producing realistic digital contents.

  • Triple-E(1만 8천 TEU급) 컨테이너선은 경제성, 에너지효율, 친환경 등을 고려한 초대형 컨테이너선으로 2013년 7월경에 부산신항에 입항할 예정이다. 부산신항에는 현재까지 1만 6천 TEU급 컨테이너선이 입항한 바 있으며, 이러한 세계최대 크기급 컨테이너선 입항 계획에 따라, 선박조종시뮬레이터를 이용하여 부산신항 진입항로 및 토도 부근 수역에서의 선박운항 안전성 검토를 수행하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 위상 천이 제어 기법이 적용된 전기자동차 배터리 충전용 무선 전력 전송 시스템의 손실을 분석한다. PSIM 시뮬레이션을 통해 결합계수에 따른 전력반도체 소자 및 공진 네트워크의 손실을 이론적으로 계산하며, 송 수신패드의 손실을 FEM 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 도출한다. 계산 결과를 바탕으로 각 결합계수에 따라 소자에서 손실 분포를 확인하고 전체 효율에 영향을 미치는 요소를 분석한다.

  • 본 논문 에서는 펄스폭 변조 영전류 천이 (PWM-ZCT) 승압형 컨버터에서 보조 회로로 흐르는 전류로 인한 도통 손실을 최소화 할 수 있는 공진 파라미터 최적화 방안을 제시한다. 제안된 해석을 통한 소프트 스위칭 기술 적용 시 추가적으로 발생한 보조 회로의 도통 손실을 최소화할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 제안된 해석의 타당성을 입증 하였다.

  • An accurate signal integrity verification method based on high-frequency measurements is proposed. For practical transmission lines that require a package process, process variations metal roughness and skin effects and boundary conditions may have deteriorative effects on circuit performance. These effects are represented in terms of parameters that can be readily utilized for field-solver. Thereby a more accurate signal integrity verification using field-solver can be achieved. It is shown that in both single and coupled lines the signal transients using the proposed method have excellent agreement with the measurement data.
