Performance Comparison of Opportunistic Spectrum Access Schemes in Non-slotted Cognitive Radio Networks Through Simulation Research (시뮬레이션 분석을 통한 비 슬롯 모드 인지 무선망에서 기회적 스펙트럼 접속 방식의 성능 비교)

  • We consider the design of opportunistic spectrum access schemes where secondary users can opportunistically access unused spectrum in non-slotted primary systems. Two non-slotted spectrum sensing and access schemes for secondary users are considered. We present experimental results that demonstrate the performance of the considered schemes.

  • Multi-Input, Multi-Output system suffers for the spatial channel correlation due to lack of spatial diversity. To overcome this defect, the antenna selection and switching system is proposed which selects the adequate antenna subset with highest channel diversity gain and switches the trasmission techniques according to channel environments. However. its performance analysis is insufficient due to the difficulty of modeling the spatial channel correlation. In this paper, the theoretical upper bound of symbol error probability is derived by using the statistical properties of Frobenius norm and minimum eigen-value of channel matrix. By computer simulation, it is shown that the derived theoretical upper bound is similar to the simulation results.

Integrated Photonic Channel Selective Microwave Bandpass Filter Incorporating a 1×2 Switch Based on Tunable Polymeric Ring Resonators (폴리머 링 공진기 기반의 스위치를 이용한 집적광학 채널 선택 마이크로웨이브 대역통과 필터)

  • A reconfigurable photonic microwave (MW) channel selective filter was demonstrated incorporating a $1{\times}2$ switch based on two tunable polymeric resonators with different free spectral ranges. Each resonator, consisting of two cascaded rings with an electrode formed on one of them, plays a role as an on/off switch through the thermooptic effect. The optical signal carrying the MW signal is routed to either port of the switch and detected to show the filtered output at the frequency determined by the free spectral range of the corresponding resonator. When the channel centered at 10 GHz was chosen, the extinction ratio was ${\sim}30dB$, the bandwidth 1 GHz, and the electrical power consumption 4.1 mW. For the other channel located at 20 GHz, we have achieved the extinction ratio of ${\sim}30dB$, the bandwidth of 2 GHz, and the required power of 8.0 mW. Finally the crosstalk between the selected and blocked channels was higher than 24 dB.

  • Versatile Video Coding (VVC)는 차세대 동영상 압축 표준화 과정에서 다수의 부호화 기술을 새롭게 채택하였는데, 이중 Multiple Reference Lines (MRL)을 포함한 일부 기술은 휘도 채널에만 적용될 수 있으며 색차 성분에 대해서는 적용이 고려되지 않는다. 본 논문은 VVC 에서 휘도 채널에만 적용되는 MRL 기술을 색차 채널로 확장하기 위하여, DM(Derived Mode)을 사용하는 색차 블록의 대응 휘도 블록이 MRL 을 사용하는 경우에 해당 참조 라인을 선택적으로 공유하여 색차 블록이 화면 내 예측에 복수개의 참조 라인을 고려하여 선택할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제안한다. 실험 결과, VVC Test Model (VTM) 15.0 대비 Cb, Cr 성분 각각 -0.09%, -0.05%의 성능 향상을 보인다.

Design of the voltage tuning circuit for channel selecting filter (채널선택용 필터를 위한 전압 안정화 회로 설계)

  • To compensate voltage error of the channel selecting filter, a current comparison type voltage tuning circuit is designed. Because the proposed current comparison type voltage tuning circuit is not need to attach another subcircuit, the chip size can be reduced, therefore the proposed circuit is very useful in the low voltage and low power channel filter. We used three channels including bluetooth communication system as application circuits of the proposed tuning circuit. As the results of HSPICE simulation using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology verify that the proposed tuning circuit respectively can be operated in $12{\mu}s$, $13{\mu}s$ and $15{\mu}s$ in three channel.

  • In this paper, the method of multiple PS(pilot symbol) QAM channel compensation is suggested in order to analyze and improve occurring problems in case of delay waves in Frequency-Selective Rayleigh fading channels through Pilot Symbol Assisted Modulation(PSAM) which is a method predicting and compensating fading information, using Pilot Symbol in flat fading channels. This suggested method shows stable improvement in its performance even though it is effected by the level of delay on delay waves while the existing PSAM method has severe malfunction with a small amount of level of delay on delay waves regardless of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).

  • To achieve better performance in dynamic spectrum access networks, each secondary user tracks channels and chooses a good channel to transmit its packet. When all secondary users adopt the same dynamic spectrum access policy, they have similar channel information, which leads secondary users to choose the same channel and more collisions among them. To relieve this problem, we propose an access policy using belief vector tracking method for other competing secondary users. Simulation results are provided to show that the proposed policy yields better performance than the existing policies which do not take into account what other secondary users are doing.

Improved Downlink Performance of Transmit Adaptive Array applying Transmit Antenna Selection (적응형 송신 빔 성형 시스템의 순방향 링크 성능 향상을 위한 송신 안테나 선택 방식의 적용)

  • The transmit adaptive array requires the forward link channel information for evaluating the optimum transmit weight vector in which a feedback channel provides transmitter with the forward link channel information. The larger transmit adaptive array is, the higher required rate of feedback channel is. Therefore we consider the system that the N-transmit antenna system is expanded to the 2N-transmit antenna system, while the feedback channel is maintained as that of N-transmit antenna system. The increase of the number of antennas can produce the additional diversity gain, however the insufficient feedback bits assigned to each antenna aggravates the quantization error. In this paper, we propose the transmit antenna selection in order to improve the performance of transmit adaptive array having an insufficient feedback channel information. The effective method to transmit the weight vector is also introduced. System performances are investigated for the case of N=4 corresponding to the antenna selection diversity schemes on the flat fading channel and the multipath fading channel. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the system performance by 1 dB when the N is expanded to the 2N, while the feedback channel is restricted to that of N-transmit antenna system.

  • In MC-CDMA systems effects of delay spread of the channel are reduced with increased symbol duration by simultaneously transmitting data symbols on the parallel subcarriers. However, the increased symbol duration causes the system to be more vulnerable to time selective fading. In this paper, we investigate the effects of time selective fading characteristics of the mobile channel from the viewpoint of desired signal power to inter-carrier interference power ratio at the combiner output of the MC-CDMA receiver.

  • In this paper, we analyze a SFBC-OFDM(Space Frequency Block Code-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system with antenna selection method using pilot symbols. An antenna selection criterion is based on channel coefficients estimated from pilot symbols. At each frequency, the channel coefficients is arranged and the best is selected, and then data is sent to those antenna with the best coefficients. Also, The coding and diversity gain of the proposed system are analyzed.
