  • The character is not dependent on an original story world any more. It is not limited to it's own story, but gets out and expands the other story with new character, background story, and event regardless of genre and media. The purpose of this study is to analyze why should this phenomenon happen from the media perspective and to build a character storytelling model through the specific examples. With the advent of the digital paradigm the storytelling model is emphasized character storytelling. Character is no longer limited to just one narrative and extended beyond the boundary narrative, media and genre. There are four background. First, disappearance of the big story with the advent of postmodernism and the emergnece of small story. Second, the emergence of fandom culture and charater's liberalization. Third, character as public goods with database. Fourth, changes in author's position. In fact, in the traditional narrative theory there has been discussion about the character all the time. But character storytelling meets transmedia storytelling, discussions were accelerated. The character was preceded by a narrative independent existence. Even if that character has occurred even while leading cause narrative. In this paper, we suggest two model as specific methodology to expand the story world fixed character. One is phychology transition, another is roll transition. This study get the value to build the new storytelling model with digital paradigm.

  • This study attempts to investigate why Stanislavsky's System, which has been the basis of modern acting, and the American Acting Method, which is the American succession of the System, were forced to become acting theories with a completely different nature. First, this study tracks the publishing and translating process of Stanislavsky's books related to System targeting the major countries of System succession, Russia, the United States, and South Korea, so it confirms that the System has been understood completely differently in each country. Based on this, this study aims to clarify the difference and cause of it in the two acting theories by discussing how the "Experiencing" and the actor's "Double Consciousness", which keep the ground of System, were accepted in the Method. To recognize Stanislavsky's publication, translation, and understanding of the System, which is an inflection point from the System to the Method, will be an attempt to fully understand both acting theories. It is hoped that this study that fundamentally seeks to comprehend System and Method will serve as the foundation for discussion from various perspectives on both acting theories in the future.

  • Historically, rhythm has played a key role not only in musical composition, but also in architectural design. In 1893, architectural theorist and art scholar August Schmarsow, in "The Essence of Architectural Creation," created a new definition of architecture as space-creation and characterized rhythm as a design principle. However, this new idea was confronted by Heinrich Wölfflin. While Schmarsow's theory represents a dynamic world-view based on anthropomorphism, the architectural theory of Wölfflin is based on the notion of harmony, displaying a kind of conservative stasis. These two main streams have greatly influenced the development of modern architecture. The concept of space has prevailed in the discourse of modern architecture, but the principle of rhythm has seldom received any positive recognition. This article introduces and develops the concept of rhythm and disputes whether Behrens and Frankl in particular, two who dispute Schmarsow's theories, have used the concept of rhythm in terms of space. I conclude that they could not overcome the notion of the physical-the body-, thus their use of the term rhythm is incongruous with the notion of space. The idea of rhythm in architectural creation remains an up and coming idea.

  • With a rapid development of smart devices, the consumption of digital media contents has become much faster. As a result, there has been a rising demand for diverse stories, and cultural archetypes have been reproduced to crate these stories. An archetype is an act inherent in collective unconsciousness. Since it is a prototype stemming from imagination and experiences, the distortion or deterioration of the archetype could even threaten the identity of national tradition. This study analyzed western contents which have been successful and domestic ones that have failed in the reproduction of their archetype, investigated aspects in the reproduction of cultural archetypes and reviewed future storytelling methodology.

  • This paper proposes a methodology of expanding the mind in multi-disciplinary ways through STEAM education program based on science and art. The paper aims at analyzing both the analog- an digital-based emotional expressions experienced by students. Students use digital visualization technology using linguistic tool as well as sense of vision, hearing and touching. This is a STEAM education program designed for high school students and called "Kandinsky, Drawing the Sound". Kandinsky was a prominent proponent of synesthesia and through his artwork, students can learn how to express and develop synesthetic senses. Through this STEAM program, students are empowered to express diverse emotions reconstructed through plays, stories and synesthesia.

  • Kenzo Tange who had successfully led Japan's early modern architecture has been interested in how to express tradition in the process of realistic creation of architecture since the 1950s. He tried to express the tradition of Japanese architecture in modern architecture in his own way. Tange believed that existing theory of tradition preserving traditional forms would no longer make Japan's tradition international. Therefore, he insisted that through his own 'new tradition', the tradition is maintained only by constant innovation, and that it does not leave traces in the results as a catalyst to stimulate creative activities. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the concept and characteristics of 'new tradition' which Tange has claimed in his architecture.

  • NFTs, which guarantee ownership of digital files using blockchain technology, are the new field for the content industry. The NFT provided new opportunities for content creators to trade digital contents without going through mediation freely. Additionally, collectors and investors can safely and easily own their works without the threat of illegal copies. However, since only a limited number of content creators are participating in the NFT market, there needs to be an influx of various content creators and a process of popularization for this market to grow and develop into the main stage. Furthermore, research on NFT has been limited, and understanding the drivers of creators choosing to participate in NFT is insufficient. Thus, this study aims to identify the factors affecting content creators participating in NFT by applying a mixed-methods approach and presenting practical implications. Using topic modeling and in-depth interviews, this study derives the positive and negative factors and suggests strategies to activate content creators' participation in the NFT market. Through this, we can guide that management implication to reduce the risks and costs of participating in NFTs is needed to encourage the participation of creators. It will also provide insight into ways to develop the NFT content market.

  • The purpose of this article is to shed light on the position and the importance of sijo (Korean traditional poetic form of Three-Line Stanzas) of the Korean poet Park Jae-sam among Korean sijo writers. Even though Park Jae-sam started his career as a poet writing two sijos and a poem, he began to write more poems than sijos later on. Anyway his interest in sijo writing has continued and he has served as a judge of sijo writing contests ever since. Especially in 1985, he published a collection of sijo. And each sijo writing in this collection are composed of three-line stanzas and each stanza of three lines. And each line has a rhythmic sound with a formal word formation. This article reveals that Park Jae-sam has pursued a happy unity of form and content in his sijo writings from the collection and that he has tried his hardest to realize this goal. This article notes that for this goal he puts stress on some methods of creating poetic images and the process of creating new ideas, the unity of Koreans's unique emotion of han(恨) and a sense of eternity, transcendence through ambivalent emotions, and the structure of statement mainly made of juxtaposed metaphors. And this articles also notes that as a most sincere lyric poet in the history of sijo he is much distinguished from other Korean poets in that he depicts mainly Koreans's unique emotions and their characteristics.

  • This study explores the creation and enjoyment of Kuwoonmong (九雲夢) using a reference system called the cultural imagination, which is related to the Yin-Yang (陰陽) and Wu Xing (五行). When Kim Manjung wrote Guwoonmong, he may have composed figures and events based on this imagination. In particular, when he designed the eight seonnyeo (팔선녀), he set the order such as Gap (甲), Eul (乙), Byeong (병), Jeong (丁), etc. and characterized them according to the celestial stem (天干). Thus it was easy to avoid overlapping of characters and to construct various stories and relationships between them. The table below shows the characters of Kuwoonmong corresponding to the celestial stem. In not only the individual person but also the narrative world, Kuwoonmon demonstrates Yin-Yang and Wu Xing's imagination. In this respect, Kuwoonmon can be considered a large symbol encompassing the abstract theory of Yin-Yang and Wu Xing. Of course, the writer, Kim, Manjung would not have tried to symbolize the principle intentionally. However, he was also present in the environment of the cultural imagination that has been formed over the years. The same is true for the contemporary recipients of Guwunmong. They would have had a pleasant experience applying the cultural imagination and strengthening their familiar world view and human view.
