The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of the technology-based STEAM education on attitude toward technology of middle school students. The following hypothesis was stated for the purpose of the study. There is no significant differences of attitude toward technology of middle school students before and after applied the technology-based STEAM education in sub-elements (1) interest in the technology, (2) technology's gender role, (3) technology's importance and influence, (4) accessibility to technology, (5) technology and school curriculum, (6) technology-related career, and (7) technology and creative activity. One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design was applied to 'After-school' activities of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ middle school for this experimental research. The data were collected and interpreted statistically by paired samples t-test using SPSS(ver. 15) at the .05 level of significance. The results of the study were as follow: First, the technology-based STEAM education was effective in raising technological attitude of middle school students. Second, the technology-based STEAM education was effective in enhancing attitude of middle school students on interest in technology, technology's gender role, technology's importance and influence, technology and school curriculum, and creative activity. Third, the technology-based STEAM education was not effective in improving attitude on accessibility to technology and aspiration to technology-related occupation of middle school students.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the understanding of nature of scientific knowledge and attitudes toward scientific inquiry of pre-service science teachers experienced open inquiry. The study was conducted in 10 sessions of open inquiry-based chemistry experiment. The subjects were 40 pre-service science teachers recruited from the experiment class. They received pre-test, mid-test, post-test on understanding nature of scientific knowledge and attitudes toward scientific inquiry of open inquiry activities. 20 pre-service science teachers among them participated in the interview. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in pre-service science teachers' understanding of the nature of the scientific knowledge (p<.05). In particular, understanding of creativity and sociality parts improved gradually. Second, pre-service science teachers' attitude toward scientific inquiry had changed negatively until the middle of the semester, and then changed positively later. The post-test score was significantly higher than the mid-test score (p<.05).

This study investigates student achievement and science-related attitudes on STS hypothetical deductive instruction strategy in the water section of high school chemistry. Two 11th grade co-ed high school classes participated in the study; one control group and one treatment group. After being taught for 10 class periods during the second semester. ANCOVA analysis revealled no significant difference (p>.05) between two groups' achievement tests. However, analysis by ANCOVA did show that the scores for science-related attitudes in the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group (p<.05). In particular, the scores of science learning contents and science value about science-related attitude were significantly higher in the treatment group.
In this study, a convergence talent education program was developed and applied to elementary school students to investigate its effect on their energy literacy and creative problem-solving ability. Accordingly, a study was conducted on 29 sixth-grade elementary school students. The results of pre- and post-tests on energy literacy and creative problem-solving ability were analyzed. The results revealed that the convergence talent education program on hydraulic energy had a positive effect on the elementary school students' energy literacy as well as their creative problem-solving ability. Furthermore, after completing the hydro-energy convergence talent education program, the students' interest in energy and science increased and they wanted to connect such with their daily life. It appears that meaningful results were obtained through the convergence talent education program, specifically in the process of generating and utilizing hydraulic energy a plan was developed to allow students to solve problems in student-centered classes.

The purpose of this study is aimed at giving proof that helps the elementary practical arts education system accomplish as the effects are turned out experimentally. Two classes of the sixth grade of J elementary school in Dae-gu have been selected in order to be experimented. One was chosen as an experimental group, the other was done as a comparative group. The creative-problem-solving learning-model was applied to the experimental group, and the traditional way of teaching was applied to the comparative group. For four classes of the sixth grades, ‘chapter 8: Making with recycled materials’ was proceeded as the content. Then. tests about the way of environmental awareness and creativity were carried out twice. After that, the results of pre and after-test in the comparative and experiment groups were compared using the t-test method. Following the analysis of the data collected in this study. the following major observations were obtained: First, children who were educated the creative problem-solving in a practical arts education achieved higher scores than before. Therefore, it turns out that the CPS method is an effective way to improve the environmental awareness in children. It showed that it included lots of daily habits connected with daily life and it made the intention to carry out the environment-preservation stronger and children´s attitude towards the environment improved. Moreover, making with recycled materials was used to solve an environmental problem, affecting in a positive way in our life. It also made the positive recognition about the environment. Second. the application of the creative problem-solving class of the practical arts education can make positive results to children. It helped children to have more interest in the environment around them. Children´s fluency, flexibility and originality in their ideas were improved as much as possible while they were solving problems. Consequently, the application of the creative problem-solving class model of elementary practical arts environmental education lets children expand environment consciousness and creativity.
The purpose of this study was to find the effects of the science camp program on Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes for the Scientific Gifted Students. For this purpose, this research developed the science camp program. This program was totally consisted 30 lessens. there was 2 part in this program. It contained Astronomic Space Science(14 class), Aerospace Science(16 class). To find the effects of the science camp program on Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes for the Scientific Gifted Students. 20 participants was selected. these students were attended at a scientific gifted class(5th grade) of an elementary school located in Ulsan. First, Science Process Skills was used to find the effect of the science camp program And the results were analyzed by SPSSWIN 18.0. The results of this study were as follows. the science camp program was a positive effects on Science Process Skills of the Scientific Gifted Students(t=8.649, p=.000). Second, the science camp program was a positive effects on Scientific Attitudes of the Scientific Gifted Students(t=3.431, p=.003). According to this research, the science camp program on Science Process Skills and Scientific Attitudes for the Scientific Gifted Students. It will be contribute on the curriculum construction of the gifted school or gifted class.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of educational science magic program on creative problem solving ability, inquiry skill, and scientific attitude in elementary school science. For this, two classes of 3th grade were chosen in the J elementary school located in Suwon city as the experimental class(30 students) and the comparative class(30 students). The two groups were selected through a diagnostic examining program. Instruction using educational science magic program was applied to the experimental class. The results of this study were as follows. 1. the creative problem solving ability of the experimental class has statistically meaningful differences and improved, compared with the comparative class(p<.05). 2. the scientific inquiry skill was improved, but it has no meaningful difference statistically. However, science tasks applied educational science magic program had valuable significance to ability of measure(p<.05). 3. the scientific attitude score also was improved, but it has no meaningful difference statistically. However, science tasks applied educational science magic program had valuable significance to endurance(p<.05). 4. the results of survey showed that educational science magic program influence students' interests and concerns in science, class participation, pleasure in class, and comprehension of what is said in class positively. Therefore, a educational science magic program applied in this study might be useful to improve the creative problem solving ability, interests and concerns in science, class participation, pleasure in class, and comprehension of what is said in class.

The national curriculum includes the problem solving process, algorithms, and programming of SW education. The education using robots is one of attractive alternatives for students who have no interest of SW or are poor at programming. We have developed a courseware using robots for SW education based on paper art activities with narrative storytelling to enhance students' creative thinking and problem solving within limitation of class time in schools. We apply the courseware and obtained the result of pre and post-test on the creative problem solving ability of third graders in the elementary school The four factors of creative problem solving have shown significantly increase. In addition, it had an significant effects for understanding robot technology and for learning attitude using robots of SW or programming.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and application of strategies using fairy tales in elementary school science. For this study, many fairy tales were searched in terms of various characteristics and educational value of the tales. Five fairy tales were selected and reconstructed to suit the 'mirrors and lenses' unit of 5th graders' school science, and teaching strategies using the fairy tales were developed to be used in six lessons. To investigate the effects of instruction using fairy tales, pre/post tests for scientific attitude were administered. To analyze students' perception of their classes, a simple survey was administered through questionnaires. We found from this study that the students related the fairy tales with their own experiences and took an active part in the class that used them. Also, instruction using fairy tales had positive effects on their scientific attitude. Many students said that the science classes were interesting, and the method using fairy tales encouraged students to study hard as well as helped them to understand the context. It was concluded that instruction using fairy tales was an effective method in terms of enhancing learning motivation, encouraging more inquiries, more opportunities to apply the scientific concept, and more positive scientific attitude. We discussed the strategies using fairy tales for implementation in elementary science classes as well.

In this study, the AI education program for elementary school students was developed and applied by introducing the design thinking process, which is attracting attention as a creative problem solving process. A design thinking-based AI education program was developed in the stages of Understanding AI, Identifying sympathetic problems, Problem definition, Ideate, Prototype, Test and sharing, and the development program was applied to elementary school students in 4th-6th grade. As a result of pre- and post-testing of students' computational thinking skills to confirm the effectiveness of the program, computational thinking skills increased by grade level, and students experienced a process of collaboration for creative problem solving based on insights gained from sympathetic problem finding. In addition, it was possible to get a glimpse of the attitude of using AI technology to solve problems, and it was confirmed that ideas were generated in the prototype stage and developed through communication between team members. Through this, the design thinking-based AI education program as one of the AI education for elementary school students guarantees the continuity of learning and confirms the possibility of providing an experience of the creative problem-solving process.
