  • The purpose of this study is to examine how the variables of managerial competencies, namely transformational leadership, internal marketing, and structural influences, affect managerial performance through job satisfaction and customer orientation, by focusing on managers of clothing stores. Furthermore, the study aims to draw implications in connection with academic or practical start-ups that can improve management performance. Through examples of transformational leadership, internal marketing, and management performance of the previous study, the significance of the study is further stressed. Also, based on the previous study, this study empirically analyzes what results can be expected, focusing on managers of retail clothing stores, department stores, franchise stores, etc. In this study, we conduct an empirical analysis of 305 managers of retail clothing stores, department stores, franchise stores, etc. Because the results of the empirical analysis are from experiments at clothing stores first, it is found that managers' transformational leadership must go through a mediating effect process, which is job satisfaction for management performance. Second, it is found that transformational leadership must also go through a mediating effect process, which is customer orientation for management performance. Third, it is found that internal marketing must also go through a mediating effect process, which is job satisfaction for management performance. Therefore, as the researcher sought to verify, there is a complete mediating effect in retail clothing stores, department stores, franchise stores, etc., and it is confirmed that its role is significant. A study on whether or not entrepreneurship, as a control variable, affects business performance is conducted to find the statistical values that can be determine management performance when managers of retail clothing stores, department stores, and franchise stores answer entrepreneurial surveys with education- and knowledge-intensive backgrounds. As a result, with the statistical figures, it is confirmed that the managers are striving to improve their management performance based on their education- and knowledge-intensive backgrounds. Based on the research results, this study tried to test the parameters that can improve the management performance through empirical analysis centering on managers, Furthermore, the study attempted to draw implications for academic, practical, and start-ups that can improve management performance.

  • The main goal of this study is to investigate the importance of trust as a mediator between shopping experience and shopping value. Previous studies on utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value have focused on the antecedents and outcomes of those shopping values. Also, although the role of trust has been studied a lot in the series of studies on online shopping mall, most of them focus on the relationship with intention to shop or use and there are few studies on the mechanism in which consumers get to have shopping value. This study tries to see how trust can boost utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value which can lead to consumer's loyalty to the shopping mall. A structural equation model is proposed and examined through a survey research to investigate the role of trust in forming perceived shopping value. One model included the trust variable as a mediator and the other excluded it. The comparison of R2 verified that the first model had a better fit. The results of the study show that the level of experience has a significant impact on both utilitarian and hedonic shopping values in the case of the model without the mediator. But experience has an insignificant or a partially significant effect on utilitarian and hedonic shopping values when trust mediates experience and shopping values. Finally, the implications and limitations are further discussed.

  • Purpose - This study aimed to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial temperament (ET) such as innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness in entrepreneur's lifetime before start-up and the effect of social capital (SC) such as network ties and trustworthiness on entrepreneurial intention. Research design, data, and methodology - We examined the components of ET (innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness) and components of SC (network ties and trustworthiness) through existing prior research and investigated the factors that affected entrepreneurial intention. The first hypothesis of this study was that entrepreneurial temperament will have a significant impact on network ties of social capital, and the second hypothesis assumed that entrepreneurial temperament will have a significant effect on the trustworthiness of social capital. Finally, the second hypothesis assumed that social capital will have a significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions. We collected 175 data using questionnaires for people who have not yet started a start-up. And we used the Structure Equation Modeling (SEM) to evaluate the collected data and to test the research model by the two step research procedure. Results - As a result, the innovativeness and proactiveness of ET have a significant effect on network ties and trustworthiness of SC, but the effect of risk-taking on risk-taking of SC is not significant. On the other hand, network ties and network ties of SC was revealed a significant effect on the EI. Conclusions - The implications of this article could be observed as mentioned in this paper. First, we found that entrepreneurial innovativeness and proactiveness are helpful in constructing SCs, but not risk-taking. These results demonstrated that ET of entrepreneurs is important factor in the formation of social capital. Second, the SC that an entrepreneur built before the start-up has a meaning for EI. In conclusion, ET was affected partially to EI mediated SC. It is academic in that ET and SC are independent from each other and have a mediating role between ET and EI, unlike those directly affecting EI. Although some important implications were found in this study, this study had some limitations and we hope that future research will be complemented.

  • This research focuses on what factors determine firm's decisions on R&D outsourcing and how R&D outsourcing affect R&D performance. In recent years many firms outsource R&D activities instead of internalizing it. Thus, further investigation is necessary to find out this recent trend. Based on several theoretical background the study developed three determining factors of R&D outsourcing which are transactional level, firm level, and risk level. Transactional level composes of independent variables such as R&D cost saving, asset specificity and uncertainty which mainly comes from Transaction Cost Economics theory. Firm level composes of openness to technology from outer source, R&D capability, and outsourcing experience. Risk level composes of technological risk, cost-related risk and managerial risk. The result shows that R&D outsourcing is significantly related to cost saving aspect, low asset specific firms, firms without solid technological background, firms which are open to external technology, firms with other types of outsourcing experience, and firms which take technological risks. However, proposed relationship between degree of R&D outsourcing and R&D performance found out to be insignificant. This research is contribute to the field of outsourcing study since it will give guidance to managers who need to make strategic decisions on R&D outsourcing activities.

Knowledge Ecological Approach is used to explain the emergence of Korea online-game industry. The research shows several knowledge factors that Korea online-game developed successfully. • Current signs of a downturn in South Korea's economy include the sharp drop in consumption. Considering internal and external complications such as the raise in minimum wage and fierce global competition, people's taste and purpose of consumption is shifting as well. Under such circumstances, crowdfunding provides a new investment and distribution channel for businesses in their initial stages. Crowdfunding can serve as a key driver of growth in early stages of business operations and lead to growth in consumption as a new distribution channel. This study explores how customers perceive the process of reward crowdfunding, especially when it comes to fairness in procedure, interaction, and distribution. In addition, we further seek how perceived fairness affects customer satisfaction and loyalty in the industry.
