The purpose of this study is to develop a practical model for enhancing cooperative virtual reference services of public libraries in the nation. The research methods include an examination of model cases from Europe and the V.S. and also an electronic questionnaire survey of 375 public librarians (73% response rate). The study results suggest the need for 'a collaborative virtual reference room' which consists of the collaborative reference database, virtual reference desk, guidance and instruction designed by age groups and/or subjects.

논문을 작성하기 위해서는 참고문헌을 달아주어야 하는 쉽지 않은 과정이 있다. 일반 사용자가 쉽게 작성하고 적은 노력으로 참고문헌을 삽입시켜줄 수 있는 처리기가 필요하다. 기존의 LATEX 시스템은 고정된 환경과 많은 제약사항으로 사용하기에 불편이 많았다. 본 논문에서는 XML의 구조적인 특성을 이용하여 참고문헌을 자동으로 삽입하는 새로운 어플리케이션을 제안한다. 이를 위해 논문과 참고문헌 사전에 대한 문서타입을 정의하였으며 참고문헌사전의 구조 정보를 검색, 삽입, 수정, 삭제 할 수 있는 사전 관리기를 설계하였다. 이를 바탕으로 참고문헌을 자동 삽입 처리된 논문 곧 XML문서는 논문 구조에 맞게 정의된 XSL을 통해 HTML로 변환되며 자유로운 웹 게시가 가능해진다.

최근 학술문헌이 급격하게 증가함에 따라, 학술문헌간의 연결성 및 메타데이터 추출 등의 핵심 자원으로서 활용할 수 있는 참고문헌에 대한 활용 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 학술지의 참고문헌이 가진 각 메타데이터를 자동적으로 인식하여 추출할 수 있는 참고문헌 메타데이터 인식에 대하여, 연속적 레이블링 방법론을 기반으로 접근한다. 심층학습 기술 중 연속적 레이블링에 우수한 성능을 보이고 있는 Bidirectional GRU-GRU CRF 모델을 기반으로 참고문헌 메타데이터 인식에 적용하였으며, 2010년 이후의 10종의 학술지내의 144,786건의 논문을 활용하여 추출한 169,668건의 참고문헌을 가공하여 실험하였다. 실험 결과, 실험집합에 대하여 F1 점수 97.21%의 우수한 성능을 보였다.

The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of using deep learning language models to extract references automatically and create a reference database for research reports in an efficient manner. Unlike academic journals, research reports present difficulties in automatically extracting references due to variations in formatting across institutions. In this study, we addressed this issue by introducing the task of separating references from non-reference phrases, in addition to the commonly used metadata extraction task for reference extraction. The study employed datasets that included various types of references, such as those from research reports of a particular institution, academic journals, and a combination of academic journal references and non-reference texts. Two deep learning language models, namely RoBERTa+CRF and ChatGPT, were compared to evaluate their performance in automatic extraction. They were used to extract metadata, categorize data types, and separate original text. The research findings showed that the deep learning language models were highly effective, achieving maximum F1-scores of 95.41% for metadata extraction and 98.91% for categorization of data types and separation of the original text. These results provide valuable insights into the use of deep learning language models and different types of datasets for constructing reference databases for research reports including both reference and non-reference texts.

Due to the inferior condition of local library reference service, an air of indifference about users, and the increase in Internet resources, cooperative reference service in domestic libraries tend to be stagnant. The increase in Internet resources was reconsidered, aside from traditional library reference service, based on question and answer service. It shed new light on the importance of indirect service, which is focused on reliable knowledge base construction. This study analyzed cooperative reference service, which is managed by the Japanese Diet library that pursued indirect service contrary to ours. Based on that, it suggested a new takeoff possibility for Korean cooperative reference service.

This study examines basic concepts and characteristics of QuestionPoint, the typical model of Collaborative Digital Reference Service and Global Reference Network, and analyzes the case of Question포인트 service at Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information where the service is initiated first time in Korea by developing Korean interface. 114 reference questions were analyzed, and questionnaires were sent to 63 service users to find out their overall attitudes and degree of satisfaction. Some suggestions were made by discussing the necessity of the enhancement of CDRS and mutual cooperation among Korean libraries.

The purpose of this study was to analyzes the present conditions of reference databases which is constructed from Korea. The object which is used in analysis concludes on KSCI( Korean Science Citation Index) of KISTI, KCI(Korean Citation Index) of KRF, KoMCI(Korean Medical Citation Index) of Korean Academy of Medical Sciences, and reference database of KOSEF. And then, this paper proposes the activation plan for reference database construction based on this analysis result. The proposed plan will be able to apply with fundamental data of the system, policy and technical direction for reference database construction.

Reference services have taken a central place in library and information services. But current digital libraries focus more on access to digital information, and hardly lay emphasis on the service aspects. This paper looks at the current state of research in reference services in digital libraries. It first analyses some representative definitions of digital reference services. It then provides a brief overview of the various online reference and information services currently available on the Web. The paper also reviews the types of the digital reference service in major 'Aska' service sites. Finally, the paper proposes new digital reference service model that specifically bases on the sharing of the human and information.

이 글은 광도대학부속도서관의 석교민생씨가 ‘현대의도서관’ 1980년 3월호에 ‘대학도서관에 있어서 Reference Service의 장래’이라고 제목하여 게재한 것을 번역한 것이다. 참고업무란 영어로 Reference Work 또는 Reference Service에 대한 역어(엄격한 의미로서는 차이가 있음)로서 도서관의 전문적인 활동 가운데에서 중요한 핵심을 이루고 있는데, 이것의 기원은 S.R. Ranganathan (Reference Service, 1940)의 도서관의 5대원칙에서 도서관의 참고업무가 출발되었다. 여기서 발출한 참고업무가 현실적으로 많은 제약과 한정된 도서관 자원 속에서 이용자에 대한 효과적인 활동의 방법.평가 등 많은 문제가 존재하고 있다. 그러므로 새로운 시점, 새로운 발상, 새로운 수법에 이한 문제의 해명을 위한 연구 개발이 필요하다고 할 수 있으며, 참고업무에 관한 문제 해명은 금준의 도서관학의 중요한 논제가 되리라는 것을 의심할 여지가 없다. 이러한 비제에 참고사서가 어떻게 대처해 나아가야 할 것인가 하는 문제에 대해 만은 암시를 얻을 수 있는 자료가 되리라 믿어 소개하는 바이다.

본 연구는 미국의 사서직 구인광고에 실린 임용자격요건을 분석함으로써 대학도서관 참고사서의 역할과 자격요건을 알아보고 이를 토대로 국내의 참고사서의 역할과 자격요건을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 실무업무가 가장 현실적으로 반영되는 미국의 구인광고분석을 통해 참고사서의 역할과 자격요건을 토대로 국내의 참고사서의 자격요건을 위한 기초 자료를 제시함으로써, 전문적인 참고사서의 양성과 그에 따른 교육과정의 준비, 도서관인력관리, 계속교육에 활용될 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
