다중 금속 착화합물의 이론적 계산

  • 환경 오염에 대한 우려의 목소리가 높아지면서 Green chemistry 분야가 각광을 받고 있다. 이 분야에서는 환경에 영향을 적게 미치기 위한 방법의 일환으로 촉매를 연구하며, 그 촉매는 착화합물인 경우가 많다. 그러나 착화합물 내에서 리간드와 금속 이온간의 결합은 예측하기 어렵다. 이는 전형금속보다는 전이금속에서 더욱 심하며, 그 중 한 예로 전이금속에서는 여러 개의 금속 이온이 서로 직접적으로 결합한 채 리간드와 결합하는 착화합물이 발견되기도 한다. 다중 금속 착화합물(Multimetal Complex)로 부르는 이러한 구조는 특유의 복잡함 때문에 잘 알려져 있지 않음에도 불구하고 착화합물의 물리적, 화학적 성질에 직접적으로 영향을 주기에 촉매나 센서, 특히 이를 이용하여 구조체를 만드는 MOF(Metal-Organic Framework) 분야에서는 꼭 알고 있어야 하는 사항이다. 이 연구에서는 GAMESS로 density functional theory (B3LYP functional)를 이용한 양자계산을 수행하여 그 중 가장 간단한 구조인 Dimetal Complex, 그 중에서도 MOF 내에서 많이 발견되는 수차 형태(Paddle wheel) 착화합물에 대해서 다루었다. Cu를 기준으로 그와 비슷한 주기나 족에 있는 Ru, Ag, Zn 등의 금속으로 만든 Paddle wheel 구조의 에너지를 비교하여 Cu가 다른 금속에 비해 이 구조를 안정하게 형성할 수 있는 이유를 알아보았다. 더 나아가 이 구조가 MOF의 형성과 성질에 어떠한 연관성이 있는지 분석함으로써 어떠한 조건이 MOF의 성질을 극대화시킬 수 있는지도 알아보았다.

A Study on the Reactivity of Dioxygen Bridged Palladium Complexes Having Amine Ligands (아민을 리간드로 갖는 산소가교 팔라듐 착화합물의 반응성에 관한 연구)

  • This study is related to the reactivity of dioxygen bridged palladium complexes having amine ligands. New dloxygen bridged palladium complexes were prepared using superoxide ion(${O_2}^-$) as an oxygen source. The reactions of dioxygen palladium complexes prepared in the study were examined in order to clarify the nature of the coordinated dioxygen. Treatments of a solution of the dioxygen bridged palladium complexes in benzene by water, methanol, acetic acid gave hydrogen peroxide($H_2O_2$) and hydroxy, methoxy, acetoxy-bridged palladium complexes, respectively. The dioxygen bridged palladium complexes reacted with substitution phenols of salicylaldehyde, 8-hydroxyquinoline and active mothylenes of acetylacetone, dimethyl malonate to afford mononuclear complexes of palladium and hydrogen peroxide. Furthermore, she dioxygen bridged palladium complexes changed to acetonyl bridged palladium complex and hydrogen peroxide reacting with acetone. The results suggest that dioxygen is coordinated as peroxo (${O_2}^{2-}$) in the complexes and behaves as a strong base.

Desorption Characteristics for Previously Adsorbed Gold and Copper-Cyanide Complexes onto Dowex21K XLT Resin Using Mixed Solvent with HCl and Acetone (염산과 아세톤의 혼합용매를 이용한 Dowex21K XLT 수지에 흡착된 금과 구리-시안 착화합물의 탈착 특성)

  • To efficiently desorb gold and copper-cyanide complexes adsorbed onto Dowex21K XLT resin, the mixed solvent with HCl and acetone which is a kind of dipolar aprotic solvent was used as a desorbing agent. The desorption efficiency for gold-cyanide complex was the highest as about 94% when the mixing ratio of HCl and acetone based on volume was the 7:3, however, the value decreased as the ratio of acetone increased. In the case of copper-cyanide complex, most of them was desorbed when the amount of HCl was relatively higher than that of acetone, however, desorption efficiency decreased as the ratio of acetone increased. The desorption efficiency for gold and copper-cyanide complexes was the 94 and 100%, respectively at the 0.6 M of HCl with the 7 (HCl) : 3 (Acetone) of mixing ratio and desorption efficiency for gold-cyanide complex not increased any more even though higher HCl concentration was used. And the desorption efficiency for gold and copper-cyanide complexes was about 100% at the S/L raio ${\leq_-}1.0$ whereas desorption efficiency for gold-cyanide complex was very low as about 20-29% at the S/L ratio > 1.0. Also, most of desorption process for gold and copper-cyanide complexes was completed within 120 min.

  • The experiments have been performed to obtain zinc complex compound with smaller particle size, which is used as a charge control agent in manufacturing toner. Metallic salts and polyhydric alcohols have been studied to investigate their effects on the formation of different sizes of zinc complex-compound particle. Reactants such as zinc chloride and 3,5-di-tert-butyl salicylic acid have been used to form the complex compound. Polyethylene glycol (PEG-300), glycerin and ethylene glycol have been added into the zinc chloride solution beforehand to lower the reaction rate in the formation of zinc complex-compound. Zirconium (IV) oxychloride octahydrate has been mixed in the zinc chloride solution beforehand to restrain crystals from growing. When PEG-300 and zirconium (IV) oxychloride octahydrate are used to lower the reaction rate and to restrain the particle size from growing, the average particle size of zinc complex compound decreases from 5.28 to 1.84 ${\mu}m$, which is 34.9% of 5.28 ${\mu}m$.

  • Ru(II)-terpyridine complexes (8, 9, 11) linked with adamantyl or β-cyclodextrin moieties were synthesized and characterized based on their 1H and 13C NMR spectra as well as MS spectra. Ru(II)-terpyridine complexes (8, 11) linked with adamantyl moiety were readily dissolved in aqueous solution via encapsulation by β-cyclodextrin when they were mixed with an equimolar amount of β-cyclodextrin. In the similar way, the adamantane guest of the Ru(II)-terpyridine complexes (8, 11) were encapsulated by β-cyclodextrin moiety of the ruthenium complex 9 to afford supramolecular assemblies in aqueous environment. Formation of assemblies was corroborated by 1H NMR spectroscopy.

When PEG-300 and aluminium(III) chloride are used to lower the reaction rate and to restrain the particle size from growing, the average particle size of zinc complex compound decreases from $5.28{\mu}m$ to $2.33{\mu}m$, which was 44.1% of $5.28{\mu}m$.

Photoluminescence properties of eight coordinated terbium(III) complexes (8배위 터븀 (III) 착화합물의 합성과 Photoluminescence 특성)

  • Eight coordinated terbium(III) complexes, tris (2-pyrazinecarboxylato)(phenanthroline) terbium(III) [$Tb(pzc)_3$(phen)], tris (5-methyl-2-pyrazinecarboxylato) (phenanthroline) terbium(III) [$Tb(mpzc)_3$(phen)] and tris(2-picolinato) (phenanthroline) terbium(III) [$Tb(pic)_3$(phen)], have been synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), UV-Visible and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy shows that these complexes emitted strong green luminescence. When powder samples of the $Tb^{3+}$ complexes are examined using time-resolved spectroscopic analysis, the luminescence lifetimes are found to be 0.87 ms and 1.0 ms, respectively. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals the terbium complexes to have good thermal stability up to $333-379^{\circ}C$. Cyclic voltammetry shows that HOMO-LUMO energy gap of the $Tb^{3+}$ complexes ranges from 4.26~4.41 eV. These values are similar to those obtained from the UV-visible spectra. Overall, the synthesized $Tb^{3+}$ complexes may be useful advanced materials for green light emitting devices.

Selective Continuous Adsorption and Recovery for Gold-Cyanide Complex in Industrial Wastewater Using Dowex 21K XLT Resin (Dowex 21K XLT 수지를 이용한 산업폐수 내의 금-시안 착화합물의 선택적인 연속흡착 및 회수)

  • Continuous adsorption and recovery characteristics for gold and lead-cyanide complexes in industrial wastewater were investigated by the Dowex 21K XLT resin. The Dowex 21K XLT resin could continuously remove over 95% for gold-cyanide complex until 520 bed volumes at the 0.5 mL/min of influent flow rate, however, could not remove lead-cyanide complex at all. The 96% of gold-cyanide complex adsorbed onto Dowex 21K XLT resin could be recovered by mixed solvent with HCl and acetone (7:3 ratio) within 8 bed volumes. Also, the bed volume for gold-cyanide complex using secondly reused Dowex 21K XLT resin was maintained as the 490, therefore, continuous process using Dowex 21K XLT resin can be sufficiently applied to the industrial wastewater containing gold ions.

DFT Studies on Hydrogen Bonding in Water Complexes of Amino-substituted Pyridine (아미노 치환 피리딘-물 착화합물의 수소결합에 대한 DFT 연구)

  • Density Functional Theory(DFT) calculations are performed to estimate the hydrogen bonding interaction energies in pyridine-water and amino-substituted pyridine-water complexes. Some equilibrium properties are also obtained for these complexes at B3LYP/aug-cc-pVDZ level. It is shown that the amino substitution increases the proton affinity of pyridine and stabilizes the hydrogen bond. The degree of stabilization upon formation of the complex varies with the number and the position of the amino groups.

The Study of Preparation of Dioxygen Bridged Palladium Complexes Having Amine Ligands (아민을 리간드로 갖는 산소가교 팔라듐 착화합물의 합성에 관한 연구)

  • New type dioxygen bridged complexes of palladium were prepared by using $KO_2$ as a source of superoxide ion($O_2{^-}$). The method is completely different from the traditional one which has adopted the oxidative addition of molecular oxygen to prepare the dioxygen complexes. This reaction proceeds via nucleophilic displacement followed by electron transfer reaction. Three new type dioxygen complexes of palladium having amine ligands were prepared and characterized by the application of the reaction of $O_2{^-}$.
