The Development of a Model for Vehicle Type Classification with a Hybrid GLVQ Neural Network (복합형GLVQ 신경망을 이용한 차종분류 모형개발)

  • Until recently, the inductive loop detecters(ILD) have been used to collect a traffic information in a part of traffic manangment and control. The ILD is able to collect a various traffic data such as a occupancy time and non-occupancy time, traffic volume, etc. The occupancy time of these is very important information for traffic control algorithms, which is required a high accuracy. This accuracy may be improved by classifying a vehicle type with ILD. To classify a vehicle type based on a Analog Digital Converted data collect form ILD, this study used a typical and modifyed statistic method and General Learning Vector Quantization unsuperviser neural network model and a hybrid model of GLVQ and statistic method, As a result, the hybrid model of GLVQ neural network model is superior to the other methods.

  • 차량검출에 관한 연구는 교통량 관측을 위해서 가장 기본적이고 필수적인 요소이다. 영상을 기반으로 한 교통 정보 시스템은 다른 방식을 이용하는 시스템들과 비교했을 때 여러가지 두드러진 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 일반적인 영상기반 시스템에서는 기상상태에 관해서 민감하게 반응하지 못하는 단점이 있다. 악천후가 발생하는 환경에서 영상의 노이즈는 차량의 교통정보 추출에 있어서 심각한 성능의 저하를 야기할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 차량검출과 함께 기상 상태에 대해 영향을 덜 받는 향상된 차량정보 추출 방식을 제안 하였다. 제안된 방법은 에지를 기반으로 추출된 차량영상으로부터 비나 눈으로 인한 악천후 때문에 생긴 영상 잡음을 제거 하는 방식으로 기존의 방식에 비해 차량검출 정확도의 오류가 감소되었다. 본 논문에서 제안한 robust 한 차량검출 방법을 기반으로 하여 차량추적, 차량계수, 차종분류, 그리고 속도측정을 수행하여 각 도로의 부하르 나타내는 데 사용되는 차량 흐름과 관련되 여러 가지 교통 정보들을 추출하는데 응용될 수 있다.

글라스 인쇄형 안테나의 최신 설계 동향

  • 본 논문에서는 글라스 인쇄형 안테나의 최신 설계 방법에 대해 기술하였으며, 제안된 설계 방법을 이용한 차량 글라스 안테나의 설계 예제를 보여주었다. 먼저 현재 사용되고 있는 차량용 안테나들을 조사하고 각 안테나의 장 단점을 확인하여 글라스 인쇄형 안테나의 필요성을 살펴보았으며, 차종에 따른 글라스 인쇄형 안테나의 제한 사항과 설계 시 우선시 되어야 할 설계 목표를 제시하였다. 다음으로 안테나의 설계 방법을 사전 준비 단계, 성능 최적화 단계, 양산 최적화 단계로 분류하고, 각 단계의 세부적인 절차를 검토한 후, 제시된 설계 방법을 이용하여 설계된 FM 라디오 수신을 위한 RV용 단일 쿼터 글라스 안테나와 세단용 다중 리어 글라스 안테나의 설계 예제를 살펴보았다. RV용 단일 쿼터 글라스 안테나는 안테나의 복사 이득이 최대가 되도록 안테나를 최적화하였고, 반무반사실에서 반사 손실과 복사이득의 성능을 측정하였다. 세단용 다중 리어 글라스 안테나는 두 안테나의 복사 패턴으로부터 채널, 용량이 최대가 되도록 안테나를 최적 설계하였으며, 반무반사실 측정과 함께 약전계 측정을 통해 두 안테나의 상관계수를 계산하였다.

Vision Based Vehicle Detection and Traffic Parameter Extraction (비젼 기반 차량 검출 및 교통 파라미터 추출)

  • Various shadows are one of main factors that cause errors in vision based vehicle detection. In this paper, two simple methods, land mark based method and BS & Edge method, are proposed for vehicle detection and shadow rejection. In the experiments, the accuracy of vehicle detection is higher than 96%, during which the shadows arisen from roadside buildings grew considerably. Based on these two methods, vehicle counting, tracking, classification, and speed estimation are achieved so that real-time traffic parameters concerning traffic flow can be extracted to describe the load of each lane.

  • Vehicle detection is the basic of traffic monitoring. Video based systems have several apparent advantages compared with other kinds of systems. However, In video based systems, shadows make troubles for vehicle detection, especially active shadows resulted from moving vehicles. In this paper, a new method that combines background subtraction and edge detection is proposed for vehicle detection and shadow rejection. The method is effective and the correct rate of vehicle detection is higher than 98% in experiments, during which the passive shadows resulted from roadside buildings grew considerably. Based on the proposed vehicle detection method, vehicle tracking, counting, classification and speed estimation are achieved so that traffic parameters concerning traffic flow is obtained to describe the load of each lane.

  • The purpose of this paper is to report gas fire accident based on classification of the major gas fire causes (including handling mistakes, inferior goods, etc.), fire classifications (fire, explosion, leakages, etc.), damage levels(1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade levels), casualties (death, serious wound, slight injury) since gas fire has been generated according to growth of gaseous fuel consumption on home and enterprises with various accident causes. Among gaseous fuels, LPG facility can be c1assified as gas container, pressure regulator, gas hose, interim valve, combustion port. Any fire or any explosion can be caused from handling mistakes, inferior goods on each parts as stated above. Exact gas fire causes shall be identified based on previous case studies on similar fires with consideration of lesson learns.

  • In the design of bridges, exact evaluation of traffic loading is very important for the safety and maintenance of bridges. In general, traffic loading is represented by live load (including impact load) and fatigue load. For exact evaluation of traffic loading, it is important to get reliable and comprehensive truck data including the traffic and weight information. It requires the development of Bridge Weigh-In-Motion (BWIM), which measures the truck weights without stopping the traffic. Objectives of the study is (1) to develop the BWIM system, (2) to verified the system in bridges in Highways.

Fuel Consumption Estimation Models for Heavy Freight Vehicles on Various Operating Speeds (대형화물차량의 주행속도에 따른 연료소모량 산정 모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • It is common that basic unit and model of fuel consumption have been used to evaluate effectiveness analysis of transportation infrastructure investment programs. However they could not reflect vehicle characteristics such as loading capacity and types of heavy vehicles. For these reasons, this study reviews convention fuel consumption model which is widely used and conducts a field experiment for 5 classes of heavy vehicles. To develop the fuel consumption quadratic model the field data are used and we develop each model by classes, and then compare with convention fuel consumption model. As a result, between convention and suggested model, there are considerable differences, which have a similar pattern between an 11-ton cargo of convention model and a 25-ton cargo type dump truck of the suggested model. Likewise we identify that there is an approximately 26% gap between convention model result and the result which is calculated a weighted average by registered number of heavy vehicles based on 5 types of fuel consumption model suggested in this study. This result implies that convention fuel assumption model has a realistic limitation.

Georeferencing of Primary Species Occurrence Data and Necessity of Data Quality Control - A Case Study of Two Varieties of Ox-Knee, Achyranthes bidentata Blume - (1차종발생자료를 응용한 지리참조연산표준화 및 자료 품질 관리의 필요성 - 쇠무릎과 털쇠무릎의 적용 사례 -)

  • The purpose of this contribution is to develop the framework of a methodology for identifying potential errors in georeferencing and in an application of it using specimens of Ox-Knee, Achyranthes bidentata Blume in Korea. At infraspecific level, uncertainty of identification showed that 41% of A. bidentata var. japonica and 28% of var. bidentata were misidentified, suggesting that the uncertainty level was independent of the reliability of experts' identification. For georeference specimen records, 71 specimens out of total 303 were selected and utilized as occurrence data: Uncertainty was 32.4 km at maximum and was 0.1297 km at minimum (mean = 4,055 m, s.d. = 5,772 m). Var. japonica is common throughout most of the southeastern Korea and west coastal areas, while var. bidentata has been found as far north as Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces. We modelled the potential distribution of two varieties using Bioclim approach in Korea based on several environmental factors. Our results indicated the most important region for var. japonica lies the west coast ranges and southern area, while for Chungcheongnam-do of potential high diversity occurs for var. bidentata. This study shows that the major factors to determine the distribution patterns of two varieties were thermal factors, rather than precipitation. The Bioclim model using geocode and georeferencing data makes the information increasingly useful and reliable. To improve data quality, it requires full management from data collection to final databases including data cleaning.
