  • With the cooperation of many research institutes and railway companies, the next generation high speed train is under development for many years. To confirm the safety requirement of the developed high speed train, multibody dynamic analysis is implemented. Through this analysis, railway derailment and lateral guiding force simulation was evaluated according to UIC code 518 OR for international railway vehicle. Test results were compared by limit value of safety criteria. Safety evaluation results, according to international standards, would provide basic reference data of ensuring safety speed and track radius curve. The safety of the train at the maximum speed is verified by numerical analysis results.

  • Technologically advanced railway countries had a unique ability to design, test and evaluation systems for development of High-speed train system. To evaluate the performance of the train system in Korea for the development of advanced measurement technology and systems are needed. In this study, the Overall Measuring System(OMS) is going to be established to efficiently verify the performance, stability and reliability of the train system and the components, and verify of the maximum speed though an on-line test. OMS consist of vehicle measuring system, pantograph measuring system, video monitoring system and monitoring room was constructed for the overall measuring system and monitoring system. The results of this study were expected to contribute to technical improvement for evaluation of train system.

  • The next generation domestic high speed railway system is a power dispersed type and uses vector control method for motor speed control. Nowadays, inverter driven induction motor system is widely used. However, recently PMSM drives are deeply considered as a alternative candidate instead of an induction motor driven system due to their advantages in efficiency, noise reduction and maintenance. In this paper, the maximum torque control approach is presented for the IPMSM drives with reluctance torque. The applied control method uses maximum torque control per ampere technique. Simulation programs based on Matlab/Simulink are developed. Finally the designed system is verified by simulation and their characteristics are analyzed by the simulation results.

  • 21세기 무한경쟁시대에 대비하여 국가산업의 경쟁력제고는 물론 지역의 균형발전을 위해 추진하고 있는 경부고속철도 건설사업은 2004년 4월 개통을 목표로 마무리 단계에 접어들었다. 경부고속철도 건설사업을 통하여 우수하고 완벽한 성능의 고속열차도입과 함께 첨단기술을 이전받아 기술수준을 향상시켰고 G7 연구개발 사업으로 시속 350Km급의 차세대 차량을 설계, 제작할수 있는 능력을 보유하게 되었다. 철도는 육로 교통수단과 달리 시스템적 특성이 매우 강하다. 즉 토목, 건축, 기계, 전기, 전자 등 각 분야의 균등한 기술발전을 도모하여야 철도선진국에 진입할 수 있으며 해외 진출이 가능하다. 사업 추진과정에서 습득한 각종 기술은 향후 건설사업의 독자적 추진을 가능케 하였으며, 철도차량의 제작사뿐만 아니라 부품업체가 해외시장을 개척할 수 있는 능력을 갖추어 철도 선진국으로 도약할 수 있는 기틀을 마련하였다.

  • High power density and power conversion efficiency have been required in the power converters according to the rapid growth of industry. In this context, the next generation High Speed Train(HST) requires power converter which has high-efficiency, high-performance and high-density. In this paper, the new control technique for battery charger used for the next generation HST is proposed. The phase shift ZVZCS converter is classified according to a resonant circuit which is located in the primary or secondary side. In this paper, The PWM switching technique using all-pass filter is proposed to control ZVZCS converter which has resonant circuit in the secondary side. ATmega_128 micro controller based in all-pass filter in substitute for phase shift IC is presented to have digital control. To verify the proposed topology, the simulation and experiment are performed by using PSIM software and 1[kW] experimental set-up.

  • Next Generation High Speed Train having a distributed electrical motor system has just been developing to aim the experimental maximum speed at 400km/h since August, 2007. This project is in stage of concept design and so, it needs to take some review and analysis the characteristics of suspensions on the view of concept design. A train dynamic modeling is modified with the one car model presented in the previous conference and it was extended to 6cars models having the same suspensions and added some connection's characteristics between the cars with Vampire program. It is used to analyze the effect on the dynamic performances according to the variation of primary and secondary suspension characteristics in the condition of 6 cars configuration. The results would be useful to manage the potential risks in the next stage of basic and critical design that will be done by the manufacturing company.

  • Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is used in the railway field in terms of efficient management and maintenance. Sensor communication technology based on IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee is used in low speed train. However, it is difficult to apply in the high speed train that exposed to severe wireless channel environments. In this paper, we propose the sensor communication algorithm for high speed train environment. we improve error rate and throughput using Equalizer, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), Flexible Spreading Factor (SF) and Modulation. Also, we have analyzed the performance of the IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee based on the standard of physical layer of 2.4GHz band in each algorithms. Simulation results show that proposed algorithms can improve error rate and throughput of conventional system.

A Suggestion of Blasting Patterns of a Mine closed to Railway Line for Securing Safety of High Speed Train (고속철도 안전확보를 위한 노선 인접 광산의 발파패턴 제안)

  • Recently Honam high-speed railroad line is constructed in southern part of Korea. This line is for next generation HST named HEMU-430X. But there is a limestone mine near this line and this mine will make a process to dig a passageway under the railway line. In this case, safety of railroad system and stability of mine are crucial problems on both sides. By measuring mine blasting vibration and calculating regression equation, effect of mine blasting to train running is investigated quantitatively. 0.5 kine (cm/sec) is applied as a management specification of vibration based on field measurement. In this study, changes of blasting patterns are suggested to control vibration of mine blasting. And the effect of train vibration to mine is also invesitigated by numerical analysis.
