Analysis of Traffic flow on the Lane Closure due to Road Construction (도로공사로 인한 차선폐쇄시 교통류 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 도로공사로 인해 차선의 일부가 폐쇄된 경우에 이용하는 차선에 따라서 운전자의 통행패턴은 달라진다. 공사구간이 없는 경우 운전자의 차선변경은 제한적이나마 각 차선의 밀도에 의해서 좌우되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 차선폐쇄지점 전방에서는 차선변경할 확률은 폐쇄지점까지의 남은 거리에 따라서 음지수함수를 따르는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 논문에서 공사구간에서의 차선변경행태와 교통량, 밀도, 속도를 산정하였으며, 공사로 인한 차선별 지체시간을 산정하였다.

  • This paper describes a lane change assistance system for the help of safe lane change, which detects vehicles approaching from the rear side by using a computer vision algorithm and notifies the possibility of safe lane change to a driver. In case a driver tries to lane change, the proposed system can detect vehicles and keep track of them. After detecting side lane lines, region of interest for vehicle detection is decided. For detection a vehicle, optical flow technique is applied. The experimental result of the proposed algorithm and system showed that the vehicle detection rate was 91% and the embedded system would have application to a lane change assistance system being commercialized in the near future.

  • Ahead of the commercialization of autonomous vehicles, it's application should be considered into the current transportation infrastructure. Under limited traffic circumstances, effective set of lane change rules alone could bring benefits to the autonomous driving system. In this study, a cooperative movement (local platooning) plan with limited vehicles associated as pocket driving, aiming at effective movement between vehicles in urban environment was proposed. Under congested roadway condition, the gaussian gap between vehicles was introduced to secure gap acceptance for safe lane change maneuver. Proposed lane change method showed 86.6% delay reduction along with traffic volume improvement. This result could be considered as a crucial factor in designing a next-generation roadway infrastructure with autonomous driving.

A Vehicle Detection Algorithm for a Lane Change (차선 변경을 위한 차량 탐색 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose the method and system which determines the condition for safe and unsafe lane changing. To determine the condition, first, the system sets up the Region of Interest(ROI) on the neighboring lane. Second, a dangerous vehicle is extracted during the line changing. Third, the condition is determined to wm or not by calculating the moving direction, relative distance md relative velocity. To set up the ROI, the only one side lane is detected and the interested region is expanded. Using the coordinate transformation method, the accuracy of the ROI raised. To correctly extract the vehicle on the neighboring lane, the Adaptive Background Update method and Image Segmentation method which uses the feature of the travelling road are used. The object which is extracted by the dangerous vehicle is calculated the relative distance, the relative velocity and the moving average. And then in order to ring, the direction of the vehicle and the condition for safe and unsafe is determined. As minimizes the interested region and uses the feature of the travelling road, the computational quantity is reduced and the accuracy is raised and a stable result on a travelling road images which demands a high speed calculation is showed.

Development of a Traffic Simulation Program for Uninterrupted Traffic Flow Facilities (연속류 도로의 한국형 모의실험 프로그램 개발)

  • 본연구의 목적은 1994년과 1995년의 연구 결과를 토대로 고속국도 교통류의 차량 추종, 차선 변경 특성을 현장 조사 자료를 통하여 분석·규명하고, 국내 고속도로의 교통류 특성을 반영할 수 있는 한국형 고속국도 모의실험 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. ▶ 국내 고속국도 교통류의 차두시간, 속도, 차량군의 크기, 차선 변 경, 중차량의 영향 등의 특성을 조사·분석하여 관련 매개변수와 모형식을 도출하였다. ▶ 차량 생성 모형은 개별 차량의 차두시간, 속도를 이용하여 구축하였으며, 중차량의 구성 비 율에 따른 속도 변화를 연구하여 그 결과를 모형 구축에 응용하였다. ▶ 차량 추종 모형은 1995년 연구에서 검증된 PITT-KLD 모형에 기반을 두었으며, 현장 실측 자료를 분석하여 차량 추종과 관련된 매개변수들을 설정하였다. ▶ 차선 변경 모형은 기본적으로 간격 수락 모형을 이용하였으며, 차선 변경시 임계 간격을 국내 운전자들의 유형에 따라 10가지로 설 정하였다. 차선 변경 확률은 현장 조사 자료를 기초로 한 경험적 모형을 구축하여 선정하였 으며, 마코프 연쇄 기법과도 비교·검토하였다. ▶ 개발된 모의실험 모형을 비교·평가하기 위 해 고속국도 합류부의 현장 조사 자료와 모의실험 모형을 비교·평가한 결과, 합류 이전 단 계에서는 실측치와 모형의 통계량이 어느 정도 유사한 양상을 보이지만 합류 이후 단계에서 는 차이를 나타내고 잇다.

  • 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 기반의 주행 차로 인식 기법을 활용한 차선 변경 검출 기술을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 주행 차로, 좌우 차로, 차량 등 3 종의 이미지 데이터를 학습, 검증, 실험 데이터로 나눠 활용하였다. 주행 차로 및 차선 변경 인식을 위하여 변형된 AlexNet 모델을 개발하였다. 실험 결과 주행 차로 69.45%, 좌우 차로 66.9%, 차량 76.4%의 인식률 결과를 보여 기존 패턴인식 방법과 비교하여 우수한 결과를 보였다.

  • In this paper, we use Faster R-CNN that is one of object detection algorithm and OpenCV that purposes computer vision, to implement the system that can detect danger when a vehicle attempts to change lanes into its own lane in videos of highway, national road, general road and etc. Also, the performance of implemented system is evaluated to prove that the performance is not bad.

  • This paper presents an analysis on driving safety in lane change situation based on road driving data. Autonomous driving is a global trend in vehicle industry. LKAS technologies are already applied in commercial vehicle and researches about lane change maneuver have been actively studied. In autonomous vehicle, not only safety control issue but also imitating human driving maneuver is important. Driving data analysis in lane change situation has been usually dealt with ego vehicle information such as longitudinal acceleration, yaw rate, and steering angle. For this reason, developing safety index according to surrounding vehicle information based on human driving data is needed. In this research, driving data is collected from perception module using LIDAR, radar and RT-GPS sensors. By analyzing human driving pattern in lane change maneuver, safety index that considers both ego vehicle and surrounding vehicle state by using relative velocity and longitudinal clearance has been designed.

  • This paper presents a lane-change collision avoidance control algorithm for autonomous vehicles that will be used in AHS(Automated Highway System). In the proposed control algorithm, nominal control inputs are generated by solving the inverse vehicle dynamic equations of motion for a lane-change maneuver. In addition, a corrective steering input from preview as well as DYC (Direct Yaw Moment Control) may be included to reduce unpredictable errors and to insure yaw directional stability, respectively. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with an ABS HILS system which consist of 17 DOF vehicle model and real ABS hardware parts. The HILS simulation results show that the proposed algorithm may be used for emergency lane-change maneuvers for autonomous vehicles.
