VPN은 기존 공중망에서 물리적인 네트워크의 구성과 무관하게 터널링과 암호화를 통해 논리적으로 폐쇄된 사용자 그룹을 구성한다. 사용자 그룹별로는 암호화된 터널을 구성하여 독립적인 가상의 망을 연결하고, 이 터널들을 통해 데이터의 전송이 가능하므로, 인터넷을 마치 전용선처럼 이용하여 보다 저렴한 통신비용으로 인트라넷, 익스트라넷, 원격지 접속 등이 가능한 안전한 통신망을 구축할 수 있게 한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 VPN의 대표적 기술 중의 하나인 터널링 기술의 특징을 개략적으로 살펴보고, 일본 기업들의 VPN 서비스 제공 사례들을 분석한 후, 통신사업자 관점에서 망 구성 방안과 차별화된 VPN 서비스를 위한 방안을 제시한다.

A number or MPLS ATM switching system have been proposed to increase the access speed or current routers, but they cannot satisfy the Internet users who use diverse applications. So they are required to support the so-called differential service, which discriminates service behaviors according to the service class. In this paper, to support this differential service we suggest an LSP control method, which uses the extended LDP message and establishes several different LSPs for each FEC according to the service class. Also, we propose an marking algorithm using the cell loss priority field or ATM cells in order to process the differential service according to application categories. In addition, we present a forwarding procedure based on the LSP control method and the marking algorithm. A forwarding model applied this forwarding procedure can be easily implemented with a minimum modification of existing MPLS ATM switching systems. Therefore, we can save cost and time needed to implement the proposed model. Finally, we estimate the performance behaviors of the proposed application-based forwarding model by the AweSim simulation package.

This study empirically analyzes the relationships among small and medium-sized stores' competitive strategies, marketing capabilities, and retail performance to cope with hostile environments like mass merchandisers' threats. To accomplish the proposed research objectives, data were collected from 325 small and medium-sized stores scattered nationwide. Three types of competitive strategies were significantly classified as follows cost leadership, merchandise differentiation, and service differentiation. Also, several strategic groups such as doing-nothing type, service differentiation type, cost leadership type, and merchandiser differentiation type were recognized through the cluster analysis. The test results show that the small and medium-sized stores perceiving hostile environments less importantly marked the high retail performance among clusters like cost leadership type, merchandise differentiation type, and even doing-nothing type. On the other hand, the moderating effects resulted from the interaction between strategic groups and environmental hostility did not have significant influence on retail performance. Additionally, merchandise differentiation cluster obtains and accumulates marketing capability most efficiently and the cluster like cost leadership, service differentiation, and doing-nothing follows next in order. Finally, merchandise differentiation cluster shows the most highest retail performance among the clusters while there was no difference between cost leadership and service differentiation cluster in terms of retail performance.

As with appearing new applications that requires QoS guarantee such as VoIP, VPN in Internet, problems of IP QoS has been one of most important issues in next-generation Internet. IETF has proposed integrated services model(Int-Serv) and differentiated service(Diff-Serv) to supply IP QoS in Internet. Int-Serv model uses the state information of each IP flow, so satisfies QoS according to traffic characteristics, but increases the amount of flow state information with increasing flow number. Diff-Serv model uses PHP(Per Hop Behavior), and there are well-defined classes to provide differentiated traffics with different services according to delay and loss sensitivity. Diff-Serv model can provide diverse services in Internet because of having no the state and signal information of each flow. As MPLS uses the packet forwarding technique based-on label, it implements the traffic engineering in the networks easily. The MPLS can set up the path with different traffic parameters, and assign each path to particular Class of Services. Therefore it is possible to support the Diff-Serv model with well-defined classes. In this paper we investigate the performance improvement of Diff-Serv function in the MPLS network to guarantee class of services in Internet.

본 논문에서는 SLA(Service Level Agreement)와 같이 차별화 서비스를 지원하는 웹서버 시스템의 가동성 척도를 향상시키기 위해 기존의 동적 성능 분리 기법에 퍼지 기법을 접목하였다. 특히, 클러스터 기반 웹서버 시스템의 부하량에 대한 판단기준 혹은 사용자 요청률 및 동적요청 비율 변화시에 발생하는 애매모호한 상황을 효과적으로 반영하기 위해, 퍼지제어 기법에 기초한 부하분배 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 이를 통해, 기존의 퍼지 기법을 활용하지 않은 성능분리 기법과 퍼지기법을 활용한 경우에 대해 응답시간(95-percentile of response time) 성능 비교 평가를 통해 퍼지기반의 성능분리 기법이 차별화 서비스 시스템의 성능을 더욱 강건하고 효율적으로 향상시킬 수 있다는 점을 검증하였다.

In paper, we present design and implementation of MPLS based VPN with QoS capabilities. We propose a design architecture of an edge router for MPLS based VPN with QoS capabilities in backbone network. We design functional blocks, interface specifications, detail routing and forwarding information based structure, and packet forwarding engine for the purpose of implementation of an edge router, We extend bgp-4 software for implementation differentiated service packet forwarding schemes in MPLS based VPN.

인터넷의 활성화로 많은 사람들이 인터넷을 이용하고 이에 따라 인터넷을 이용한 서비스도 홍수를 이루고 있다. 이에 따라 인터넷을 상업적 목적으로 사용하는 서비스도 증가하고 있다. 그러나 많은 인터넷 서비스들이 고객들에게 획일적이고 일률적인 서비스만을 제공한다. 각각의 고객에게 취향과 관심분야에 따른 차별화 된 서비스가 필요로 한다. 각 고객에게 1대 1로 차별화 된 service를 제공하기 위해서 먼저 각 고객을 구별하고 그 고객의 취향과 관심분야의 파악을 위해서 인터넷에서의 행동을 관찰한다. 또한 고객의 관리를 위해 고객을 필요에 따라 그룹화하고, 고객과 직접 접촉을 통해 고객 정보를 파악할 수도 있다. 파악된 고객 정보의 효율적 저장과 분석을 위해서 decision tree를 이용해 학습을 한다. 고객의 행동의 특성상 incremental한 학습 알고리즘을 사용하며 고객의 선호도를 이용한 decision tree를 이용한다. 학습된 결과를 이용해서 1대 1 서비스를 제공함으로써 고객에서 편리성을 제공하고 서비스에 대한 친밀감과 고객의 흥미를 유발할 수 있다.

본 논문에서는 무선망과 신호처리 기술의 발달과 1GHz급 이상의 고성능 모바일 장치의 등장에 따라 현재의 모바일 음성 서비스 품질과 확연히 차별화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해 3GPP에서 논의중인 EVS 코덱의 기술적 특성 및 최간 표준화 동향에 대해 기술한다. 3GPP에서는 지난 3월, 2년간의 논의를 거쳐 4G 모바일과 같은 EPS 시스템에서 차별화된 새로운 증감음성 품질의 서비스 제공이 필수적이라는 판단 하에 EVS 코덱 표준의 개발을 시작하였다. 현재 EVS 코덱 표준화를 위해 세부적인 가능과 성능 목표에 대해 협의를 진행중이며 표준의 완료 계획시점인 2012년 상반기경, 4G/LTE에서는 광대역 수준의 음성서비스에 비해 신호대역폭이 2배가 확장된 슈퍼와이드밴드급의 증감음성 서비스가 제공될 것으로 전망한다.

VoIP기술의 확산과 그에 따른 IP기반의 망을 포함한 packet, Multimedia서비스를 제공하는 서비스가 늘고있다. 그러나 실시한 서비스를 필요로 하는 이 서비스의 경우에는 그에 따르는 경로에 확실한 대역폭의 조건이 요구되고 있다. 하지만 best-effort방식을 사용하는 기존의 망에서는 대역폭의 확실한 보장이 이루지기 힘들다. 하지만 MPLS와 트래픽 엔지니어링 기술의 발전으로 다중경로 패킷 전달 및 동적인 부하 제어가 가능하게 되었다. 곧 차별화된 서비스에 따른 대역폭의 할당이 이루어질 수 있다. 동적인 부하 제어는 네트웍의 상태를 고려하여 경로간의 부하를 조절함으로써 네트웍의 효율성을 높일 수 있으나, 상태 정보의 시간차이에 의해 불안정한 상태에 이르기 쉽다. 본 논문에서는 차별화된 서비스를 하기 위해 부하의 할당을 안정적으로 변화시키면서도 효율적인 부하로 용량에 맞게 흐름을 받아들이고 패킷을 전송하는 기법을 제안한다.

This paper is related to the optimal pricing of Internet Backbone Services that are differentiated according to the size of the bandwidth required for applications with different quality sensitivities, Itdiscusses IBP (Internet Backbone Provider) optimal nonlinear pricing process in the presence of a congestion externality in addition to strategic behavior by users. In this scenario, the quality of service provided may reach its socially optimal level irrespective of strategic behavior by users and may be independent of the characteristics of the applications delivered over the Internet.
