Estimation of Acceleration Rates of Bus and Passenger car at Signalized Intersections (신호교차로에서 버스와 승용차의 발진가속도 측정)

  • The maximum and mean acceleration rates of vehicles estimated from the stopping conditions at signalized intersections provided an important clue to analyze traffic accident investigation when there was a dispute about legal liability such as first entering vehicle at the intersection, etc. This paper provided the maximum and mean acceleration rates of vehicles reflecting current traffic conditions in Korea through field studies. The mean acceleration rates of vehicles at stopline were measured up to 50m at the intervals of 5m. Results showed that the mean acceleration rate for bus was found to be $1.011^m/s^2{\sim}1.314^m/s^2$(0.1g~0.13g), and for passenger car was $1.548^m/s^2{\sim}1.818^m/s^2$(0.16g~0.19g). Statistical test results indicated that the observed differences from vehicle types and vehicle positions were statistically significant for the all ranges tested. It is expected that the accuracy of accident investigation practice will be improved by applying the acceleration rate values presented in this paper.

  • Vehicular Ad Hoc Network(VANET) using wireless network is offering the communications between vehicle and vehicle(V2V) or vehicle and infrastructure(V2I). VANET is being actively researched from industry field and university because of the rapid developments of the industry and vehicular automation. Information, collected from VANET, of velocity, acceleration, condition of road and environments provides various services related with safe drive to the drivers, so security over network is the inevitable factor. For the secure message authentication, a number of authentication proposals have been proposed. Among of them, a scheme, proposed by Jung, applying database search algorithm, Bloom filter, to RAISE scheme, is efficient authentication algorithm in a dense space. However, k-anonymity used for obtaining the accurate vehicular identification in the paper has a weak point. Whenever requesting the righteous identification, all hash value of messages are calculated. For this reason, as the number of car increases, a amount of hash operation increases exponentially. Moreover the paper does not provide a complete key exchange algorithm while the hand-over operation. In this paper, we use a Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI) based velocity and distance estimation algorithm to localize the identification and provide the secure and efficient algorithm in which the problem of hand-over algorithm is corrected.

Study on Structural Safety of Car Securing Equipment for Coastal Carferry: Part I Estimation of Hull Acceleration using Direct Load Approach (국내 연안 카페리 차량 고박 장치 안전성에 관한 연구: 제I부 직접하중계산법을 이용한 선체 운동 가속도 산정)

  • The capsizing and consequent sinking of a coastal car ferry was recently reported, with numerous human casualties. The primary cause was determined to be a sudden turn with improperly stowed and secured cargo. Part I of this study introduces how long term acceleration components are determined from seakeeping analyses. A carferry with a displacement of 1,633 tonf was selected as the target vessel. Sea data that included the significant wave heights and periods were collected at four observation buoys, some of which were far away from two main voyage routes: Incheon-Jeju and Pusan-Jeju. Frequency response analyses were performed to obtain the linearized radiation force coefficients, hydrostatic stiffnesses, and wave excitation forces. Time response analyses were sequentially performed to produce the motion-induced acceleration processes. The probabilistic distributions of the acceleration components were determined using a peak and valley counting method. Long term extreme acceleration components were proposed as a final result.

Development of Specifications and Design Criteria of Rest Area for Drowsy Drivers (고속도로 졸음쉼터 제원 산정 및 설계기준 정립에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated current status of rest area for drowsy drivers on the highways and drew the related issues to define specifications and design criteria regarding expressway rest area for drowsy drivers on the highways. Based on the investigation result, geometric structure specifications and improvement plans are suggested. The entry part of a rest area for drowsy drivers on the highways was divided into deceleration transition section, deceleration lane and entry connection road while the exit part was divided into exit connection road, acceleration lane and acceleration transition section. The optimum length was estimated by considering the main lane vehicle traveling speed, traveling speed at the beginning/end point of entry/exit connection roads, deceleration and acceleration. In addition, reasonable design criteria were suggested by dividing the parking section of rest area for drowsy drivers according to parking style and cross-section composition, and length of parking space and then considering the ratio of vehicles using rest area for drowsy drivers, the ratio of heavy vehicles, and the design speed within a rest area for drowsy drivers. It is believed that the suggested design criteria on rest area for drowsy drivers on the highways can be utilized in the future planning and maintenance of rest area for drowsy drivers. Additionally, the defined criteria on installing rest area for drowsy drivers on the highways will prevent traffic accidents in resting facilities and highways as well as improve usage and safety of them.

  • In this study, the panel joint behavior by the vehicle load moving on precast panel is analyzed. The frame was made for loading and the behavior was determined by using each measuring device. The static response of the panel was examined and compared with the theoretical value, and it was found that the characteristics were very reasonable. In addition, acceleration, velocity, and displacement were measured for dynamic impact evaluation, and the characteristics of moving load were analyzed in the test. The vibration frequency of the panel was measured for the dynamic response by the moving load, and the vibration characteristic was considered to be sensitive to the range of the load. As a result, it is considered that the dynamic response of the connection part should be careful in design because the characteristics are different according to the connection method.

  • This paper presents roll angle estimator which used Kalman filter. Recently, the uses of the ELSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential) and TVD(Torque Vectoring Differential) for vehicle yaw control are studied in many researches. However the roll angle can be negative effect of ELSD and TVD control. Therefore the information of roll angle can be used for vehicle yaw control. Moreover it can be used for rollover prevent control. Recently, most of the vehicles use lateral acceleration and yaw rate sensor. In this paper, design of Kalman filter which used lateral acceleration and yaw rate information is developed. In this paper, in order to verify the estimator ability, the CarSim and Matlab/Simulink are used.

  • 본 논문에서는 위치인식 센서기반 무인이송차량(AGV)의 이동 제어 문제를 다루고자 한다. AGV의 진행 경로를 지시하는 랜드마크를 부착할 때 사각지역(dead zone) 및 중첩 지역(overlap zone)이 존재할 경우 위치 추정 오차가 허용 범위를 크게 벗어나게 되며, 이로 인해 AGV가 오동작하는 현상이 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 단일 랜드마크 대신 이웃한 2개의 랜드마크 인식을 통해 위치 추정 오차를 보정하는 방안을 제안하였다. 또한, 회전 구간에서 AGV가 방향 전환 직후 지정된 경로에 허용오차 범위 이내로 진입하도록 안쪽 바퀴와 바깥쪽 바퀴의 가속도 제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 개발된 시스템은 화장장 시신 운구용 AGV에 적용하였다. 화장장은 기존 산업 현장에 비해 이동 공간이 협소할 뿐만 아니라 그 특성상 정밀 제어가 필요한 환경이다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방식은 모의 차량에 적용하여 그 타당성을 검증하였으며, 실제 국내 화장장에 AGV 시스템을 적용한 결과 허용오차 범위 이내에서 정상 동작함을 확인하였다.

  • 지능 재료를 이용한 디바이스는 자연계에 존재하는 생명체와 같이 내.외부 환경 변화에 대응하여 스스로 변하는 능동적 기능을 갖고 있기 때문에 시스템 성능의 극대화 및 유지비용의 최소화를 가져오게 된다. 이러한 지능재료 기술은 지난 10여년 전부터 연구되었는데 대표적인 웅용을 보면, 산업, 항공, 교통, 운송 분야의 능동 소음 및 반능동 진동제어; 복합 재료 손상위치 탐지시스템, 손상구조 건전성 평가시스템, 교량, 저장탱크, 건물, 유조선, 대형 구조물의 건전성 평가 시스템; 초정밀 직진 안내기구, 나노 스테이지, 절삭오차 보정용 엑츄에이터, 초음파 회전모터, 지능유압 서보밸브, 변형 거울 등의 모터/엑츄에이터; 자동차 엔진 성능제어, 흡배기구 압력측정, 가속도 센서, 자이로센서, 에어백 센서, 타이어 센서 등의 지능 MEMS/NEMS 센서; electronic article 정찰, 도서태그, 비접촉 항공 운송물 분류 및 보안시스템, 전자 운전자 식별시스템, 광섬유 건물 보안 시스템, 지능 신경망 형상 인식 시스템 등의 보안 시스템; 지능항공기 구조물, 인공위성안테나, 헬리콥터 회전익 등의 형상제어가 있다. 본 논문에서는 지능재료 기술을 정리하고 차세대 철도차량 기술에 지금까지 적용한 예를 소개하며 향후 적용할 수 있는 분야들을 가능성 및 실용성 면에서 소개하고자 한다.
