Antimicrobial Activity of PHB/Chitosan Films and Quality of White Bread Packaged with the Films (PHB/chitosan 필름의 항균성 및 필름 포장시 식빵의 품질 특성)

  • The antimicrobial activity of PHB/chitosan films and the quality of white bread packaged with the films were investigated. Chitosan film showed the highest antimicrobial activity and PHB(L) film also showed high antimicrobial activity against Fusarium solani KCTC 6636 and Penicillium citreonigrum KCTC 6927. White bread packaged with chitosan film had good moisture retention. $L^*\;and\;b^*$ of white bread increased but $a^*$ did little change during storage regardless of the film kind. The TBA values of white bread packaged with chitosan or PHB(L) film slowly increased during storage. The springiness of white bread packaged with PHB(M), PHB(L) and chitosan film was high. The colony forming units of microorganisms for white bread packaged with chitosan film were low during storage. Therefore, PHB(M), PHB(L) and chitosan films were superior to PHB(H) and PHB films as package material for white bread.

Effect of Spice Powder on the Characteristics of Quality of Bread (향신료를 첨가한 식빵의 품질특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information for bread with kinds of spice. The qualities of bread added with garlic, ginger, and cinnamon powder were investigated using sensory and mechanical evaluation. The result of sensory evaluation showed that the softness, color, brittleness, hardness, and chewiness of bread were increased as the amount of garlic, ginger and cinnamon powder increased. Lightness decreased by the addition of garlic, ginger and cinnamon powder, while redness and yellowness increased. Texture measurement showed that hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and brittleness were the lowest in the breads with 1% garlic, ginger and cinnamon powder, and increased as the added amount of spice increased. A positive correlation was observed between the sensory and mechanical properties in general, while hardness and chewiness have negative correlation with sensory properties. Sensory properties of wheat flour odor, roasted taste, springiness and swelling were positively correlated with the acceptability. Breads with 1% garlic, ginger, and cinnamon powder showed a good overall preference.

  • Few studies have been systematically pursued on a multimedia data mining in despite of the overwhelming amounts of multimedia data by the development of computer capacity, storage technology and Internet. Based on the preliminary image processing and content-based image retrieval technology, this paper presents the methods for discovering association rules from recurrent items with spatial relationships in huge data repositories. Furthermore, multimedia mining algorithm is proposed to find implicit association rules among objects of which content-based descriptors such as color, texture, shape and etc. are recurrent and of which descriptors have spatial relationships. The algorithm with recurrent items in images shows high efficiency to find set of frequent items as compared to the Apriori algorithm. The multimedia association-rules algorithm is specially effective when the collection of images is homogeneous and it can be applied to many multimedia-related application fields.

  • 니트웨어가 가지고 있는 신축성은 우븐 페브릭으로 제작한 옷과 비교했을 때, 옷을 입었을 때의 편안함과 관리의 수월함을 제공하며, 이러한 니트웨어의 특성은 현대의 라이프 스타일에 맞는 경쟁력을 가지고 있다. 현대인의 생활은 단지 일에만 치중하며 사는 것이 아니라 여행, 사회적 참여 그리고 운동 등을 하며 개개인의 삶을 더욱 중요시 여기는 형태로 변해가고 있다. 따라서 손이 많이 가고 관리하기 힘든 옷을 위해 쓰는 시간은 점점 줄어들고, 캐주얼이나 정장에 관계없이 편안하고 관리하기 쉬운 옷을 선호하며 살아가고 있다. 이러한 경향은 패션산업시장에 직접 반영되어 관리하기 쉽고 입기에 편안한 니트웨어는 패션 시장 안에서 점점 더 많은 부분을 차지하고 개발되어지고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 현재 니트웨어 시장은 니트조직을 개발하고 표현하는 데에 있어 공장의 기술자 중심으로 이루어지고 있어 제한된 스타일의 니트조직이 대부분의 시장을 차지하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 창의력을 가진 니트 디자이너와 현대인의 감수성을 만족시킬 수 있는 니트 조직의 개발은 현대 패션시장에서 매우 중요한 과제로 남아있다고 할 수 있다. 또한 CAD를 사용하는 산업용 니팅머신은 독특한 텍스추어를 가진 니트웨어의 대량 생산을 위해 꼭 필요한 아이템이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 시대의 요구에 맞추어 연구자는 이번 연구를 통해 현재 니트웨어 시장에 나와 있는 조직과는 차별화 된 4가지 니트조직을 CAD로 디자인하고 산업용 니팅머신을 사용해 현실화하였으며, 니트웨어 디자인에 적용하여 실제의상으로 제작해 보았다. 이 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과물이 현대인의 감수성을 만족시킬 수 있는 새로운 제안으로 현재 패션시장에 받아들여졌으면 하는 바람이다.

The evaluation of fabric on the Internet -The difference of cotton fabric texture perceived between on-line and off-line- (인터넷에서의 소재 평가에 대한 연구 -실물과 영상에서의 면직물 유사성 평가-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of cotton fabric texture perceived between on-line(screening fabric) and off-line(real fabric), and to analyze fabric characteristics having an effect on the difference. The similarity of 55 various cotton fabrics perceived between on-line and on-line were measured showing simultaneously real fabrics and screening fabrics by 7-scale questionnaire. And the characteristics of cotton fabrics such as weave structure, thickness, weight, fabric density, stiffness, Hunter's L, a, b, and hue were measured. Cotton fabrics were classified into 3 groups by extent of similarity. There were no significant differences in weft density, stiffness, Hunter's L, a, b, and hue among 3 groups. But there were significant differences in weave structure, thickness, weight, warp density, and difference of warp & weft density. The fabrics having large similarity were thick and heavy, had small warp density and difference of warp & weft density, and distinct surface texture. The group having medium similarity included fabrics of medium thickness and weight, having weak surface texture, large warp density and difference of warp & weft density. The group having small similarity, which the differences between on-line and off-line were large, included thin and light fabrics having smooth surface and large warp density and difference of warp & weft density.

  • The purpose of this study is not only preserving and restoring our nation's precious cultural inheritances transmitted for half millennia but informing the world of them. This study also aims recognizing the necessity of transmitting them to prosperity, constructing three-dimensional database by using a photogrammetry and VRML method and utilizing basic data of treasure exhibition with the progress of exhibition technique development on cyber space. Therefore, in this study, I suggest three dimensional modeling method that acquire three dimensional database about cultural properties through photogrammetry method which can acquire three-dimensional coordinates with easy and can express various color and stuff-feeling by using VRML.

Blocking of Internet Harmful Pornographic Sites by Contents-based Method (음란콘텐츠에 기반한 유해 음란 사이트의 차단)

  • This paper proposes on the technical blocking method of Internet harmful pornographic sites which is the most Internet negative-function. At Present, most technical methods based on web sites back-searching or words filtering for blocking the pornographic Internet sites have limitations. For this, this paper proposes the acoustic and image based blocking method for filtering harmful Internet sites. For this, sexual main body parts are extracted by texture analysis and curve fitting. Also acoustic signals are analyzed using pratt tool and auto-correlation function is adopted for matching between prototype signals and test signals. Finally, the effectiveness of this paper is demostrated by several experiments.

  • The amylose content, based on iodine blue value, of eight rice cultivars decreased in order of Nampungbyeo>Whachungbyeo>Punchilmi>Nampung CB243>Whachung du-1>Nampung EM90>Whachungchalbyeo>shr. The amylopectin chain length distribution was obtained by enzyme treatments followed by high-performance size-exclusion chromatographic separation. Chain length distribution profiles of the isoamylase-debranched starches showed distinct patterns according to cultivars. Based on the sensory evaluation result of the bread prepared from gluten and rice flours of eight rice cultivars, chewiness of the product was related with the presence of amylose while the short-chain amylopectin fraction was contributed to the texture and overall quality.

  • In this paper, we discussed the region-based image retrieval method using image segmentation. We proposed a segmentation method which can reduce the effect of a irregular light sources. The image segmentation method uses a region-merging, and candidate regions which are merged were selected by the energy values of high frequency bands in discrete wavelet transform. The content-based image retrieval is executed by using the segmented region information, and the images are retrieved by a color, texture, shape feature vector. The similarity measure between regions is processed by the Euclidean distance of the feature vectors. The simulation results shows that the proposed method is reasonable.

  • Expectation of the patient for esthetic improvement through the dental treatment is diverse and complicated. Chief complaints of patient should be translated to objective factors reflecting patient's needs and wants. Treatment planning would be based on these demands and verified through the communicating with the patient through the procedure. Esthetic approach in dental treatment include subjective elements as well as objective ones.
