  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the relationships among new nurses' meaning of work, organizational commitment, professional self-image, and retention intention through path analysis. Methods: The participants were 872 nurses with less than a year of clinical experience working at general or tertiary hospitals over 500 beds in Korea. The data were collected using structured questionnaires from May 15, 2021 to June 28, 2021, and analysis was conducted using SPSS/WIN 22.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. Results: Retention intention was explained by meaning of work, organizational commitment, and professional self-image, its explanatory power was 46.5%. The mediating effect of professional self-image was found on the relationship between meaning of work and retention intention. Conclusion: To encourage the retention intention among new nurses, an environment where new nurses can set a high value on the meaning of work and sense of accomplishment should be created, and a strategy to improve organizational commitment and professional self-image should be established.

  • Purpose: Helicopter parenting is an emerging concept as a way of rearing adolescents and adult children. However, helicopter parenting from a nursing perspective has not been elucidated. Therefore, we undertook a concept analysis to understand the attributes, antecedents and consequences of helicopter parenting in the context of nursing. Methods: Using Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis, we analyzed literature on helicopter parenting to discover critical attributes, antecedents, and consequences of this phenomenon. Data were collected from seven electronic search engines. Twelve studies matching inclusion criteria were reviewed. Results: Three core attributes of helicopter parenting were hovering, highly deep involvement, and proxy decision making. The antecedents and consequences were retrieved from three important domains including social, parent, and child aspects. Surrogate terms were black hawk, hummingbird, and hovercraft parenting, and related terms were stealth fighter and Kamikaze parenting. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, helicopter parenting has both positive and negative effects on both children and parents. To enhance the positive effects, measurement tools for helicopter parenting and nursing interventions on parenting need to be developed.

  • Emotion science is one of the rapidly expanding engineering/scientific disciplines which has a major impact on human society. Such growing interests in emotion science and engineering owe the recent trend that various academic fields are being merged. In this paper we propose the potential importance of the biochip technology in which the human emotion can be precisely measured in real time using body fluids such as blood, saliva and sweat. We firstly and newly name such a biochip an Emotion-On-a-Chip (EOC). EOC consists of biological markers to measure the emotion, electrode to acquire the signal, transducer to transfer the signal and display to show the result. In particular, microfabrication techniques made it possible to construct nano/micron scale sensing parts/chips to accommodate the biological molecules to capture the emotional bio-markers and gave us a new opportunities to investigate the emotion precisely. Future developments in the EOC techniques will be able to help combine the social sciences and natural sciences, and consequently expand the scope of studies.

  • 2004 summer, most of Korean were shocked from serial killer Ryo young chul's criminal behavior. He had kept anger to society and selected the victim randomly. He killed many females and senior persons. Korean National Police's investigation method to homicide depend on traditional homicide investigative methods. But serial killer's criminal behaviour is evolving frequently. Therefore traditional investigative method is no effective to serial homicide anymore. If traditional investigative method is old version virus vaccine, serial killer's criminal behaviour is newly appeared computer virus. Fortunately all of criminal has modus operandi independently. Any person comes into contact with an object or another persons, a cross-transfer of physical evidence happens. In the future it is impossible to escape from confrontation with serial killer. It can be prospect that more severe copycat serial killer will appear in Korean society. Based on the Ryo young chul's criminal behavior. • Machines, cities and bodies have been evolved together for a long time, and the recent development of information and communication technologies has transformed cities and bodies into new forms. Concerned with the relations between machines, cities and bodies, this paper explores how mobile networks are related with the physical space of the city and the psychological space of the body. The paper is organised into four main sections. First, it provides a theoretical review of the ways in which mobile networks transform urban spaces and human bodies. Secondly, it explains the generation of mobile networks through technological and institutional changes in Korea. Thirdly, it looks at the socio-spatial scales and time-space landscapes of mobile networks in relation to mobile users' motions and practices in their everyday lives. Finally, it attends to the ways in which mobile networks involve the production of paradoxical emotional spaces in relation to mobile users' emotions and desires to be dis/connected with mobile networks.

  • This research was conducted in an attempt to understand human lifestyles in on-line game world. Q methodology was used to investigate players in Mabinogi, which is an on-line game(MMORPG). Based on 82 behavior statements, 6 types of on-line game lifestyle were found : Self -Enhancer, Self -Expressionist, Relation-Oriented, Isolation -Antisocial, Social Contributor, and Self-Interest. The behavior patterns of the 6 types were then compared to identify similarities and differences amongst them in psychological meanings and values in the on-line game life. The results showed that the lifestyles in on-line game world encompass both the reflection of the lifestyles in the real world and also the creation of new life patterns that players desire. The process of developing lifestyles in the online game world illustrates the emergence and evolution of human life on new social environment which is established by digital technology. On-line game world can be defined as new life space in which people is able to create new identity and new culture.

  • Employing in-depth interview, this study sought to explore the meaning of game play among those adolescent game addicts. Recent evolution of game text and rapid diffusion of smart media contributed to their addictive game use. Stronger relationship-building with their peer group through game play was also more important for them. In addition, alienation from family, school and society apparently led those adolescents to evaluate the virtual experience to be more valuable and meaningful. Lack of proper parental mediation and intervention from the school authority caused them to spend more time in the virtual world. Without understanding the complex social context surrounding the adolescents, a systematic approach to attenuate the problem of game addiction is hardly attainable.

Of modernism and post-modernism appeared to reflect the proliferation of digital media in culture, wandering through the complex has been diversifying. In the digital age stabilizing psychological or mental needs of people who want to begin to emerge as the disfunctional aspects of the digital age has been suggested for the problem. To respond to human emotion on the emotional reaction of users to consider the analog emotional design began to emerge. The analog to digital media to express emotions practical approach to the problem should be attempted. Analog in a digital environment, emotional nature of the digital technology and communication, and symbolic and emotional aspects of people as announced to blend the new extension, change, and an analog emotional design for the evolution and development of new possibilities to investigate the castle.
