열간금속 압출굽힘기를 이용한 금속곡관의 압출굽힘가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Extru-Bending Process Extrusion Bending Machine)

  • The bending process for the rectangular and circular curled tube can be developed by the hot metal extrusion machine with the multiple punches moving in the different velocity. The bending phenomenon has been known to be occurred by the different of velocity at the die exit. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container and by the cohesion of billet Inside the porthole die chamber. The bending phenomenon can be controlled by the two variables, the one of them is the difference of velocity at the die edit section by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container The other is the difference by the different hole diameter The results of the experiment show that the rectangular curved tube can be formed by the extrusion process, that the curvature of the curved product can be controlled by the velocity of punch and the diameter of container hole, that the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of the wall of tube and the folding and wrinkling of thin tube did not happen after the extra-bending processing by the extrusion bending machine.

중첩된 알루미늄 5052 합금판재의 전기저항가열 마찰교반점용접에 관한 연구 (Electric Resistance Heated Friction Stir Spot Welding of Overlapped Al5052 Alloy Sheets)

  • Electric resistance spot welding has been used to join overlapped steel sheets in automotive bodies. Recently to reduce weight in automotive vehicles, non-ferrous metals are being used or considered in car bodies for hoods, trunk lids, doors parts, etc. Various welding processes such as laser welding, self-piercing rivet, friction stir welding are being used. In the current study, a new electric resistance heated friction stir spot welding is suggested for the spot welding of non-ferrous metals. The welding method can be characterized by three uses of heat -- electric resistance heating, friction stir heating and conduction heating of steel electrodes -- for the fusion joining at the interfacial zone between the two sheets. The welding process has variables such as welding current, diameter of the steel electrodes, revolutions per minute (rpm) of the friction stir pin, and the insert depth of the stir pin. In order to obtain the optimal welding variables, which provide the best welding strength, many experiments were conducted. From the experiments, it was found that the welding strength could be reached to the required production value by using an electrode diameter of 10mm, a current of 7.6kA, a stirring speed of 400rpm, and an insert depth of 0.8mm for the electric resistance heated friction stir spot welding of 5052 aluminum 1.5mm sheets.

알루미늄 판재의 압출점접합공정에 있어서 접합강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Welding Strength of Extru-Riveting Process of Aluminum Plates)

  • It was studied that two plates of aluminum can be welded by extru-riveting experiments with extru-rivet welding dies, and that the welding strength and metal flow on the welding section were analyzed by computer simulation according to the welding variable such as the diameter of extrusion insert dies. It was known by computer simulation that welding strength on the welding section of plates could be influenced by the diameter of extrusion insert dies. And it was known by experiments that two plates of aluminum can be welded on a spot point on aluminum plate by extru-rivet welding process, and that welding strength is higher and higher if the diameter of extrusion insert die is smaller and smaller, and that welding strength is the highest when diameter of extrusion insert dies is ${\emptyset}4.2$mm in the case that the diameter of rivet is 5 mm, when aluminum 5052 two plates with 1.5 mm thickness and one plate with 3mm thickness for rivet plate are used as welding material.

  • It was investigated that two plates of aluminum can be welded by hot extru-shear welding process with extru-shear welding dies, and that the welding strength and metal flow on the welding section were analyzed by computer simulation according to the welding variables such as inclined angle of cutter and overlapped length of plates and temperature of plates. It was known by computer simulation that welding strength on the welding section of plates could be influenced by the inclined angle of cutter and overlapped length of plates and temperature of plates. And it was known by experiments that two plates of aluminum can be welded on the end sections by hot extru-shear welding process using extru-shear welding dies, and that welding strength is the highest when inclined angle of dies is $70^{\circ}$, and overlapped length is 1.2 mm, and temperature is $520^{\circ}$, when aluminum 5052 two plates with 1.6 mm thickness are used as welding material.

  • The welding pressure in porthole die extrusion is affected by the shape of welding chamber. It is very important to increase the welding pressure when the tube is used particulary as the materials of hydroforming processing. The high circumferential stress of the tube would make the welding pressure increase during the porthole die extrusion. In order to increase the circumferential stress, it is necessary to make the billets pass through the narrow gap between the conical die and the conical mandrel. This paper describes the welding pressure by the experiments with the two types of the chamber. One of them is the chamber between the flat die and straight mandrel, and the other one is the chamber between the conical die and conical mandrel. The result of the experiments show that the conical chamber makes the welding pressure increase by the effect of the reducing the diameteres of tube.

  • The bending process for the curved tube can be developed by the hot metal extrusion machine with the multiple punches moving in the different velocity. The bending phenomenon has been studied to be occurred by the different of velocity at the die extrusion. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container and by the welding of billets inside the porthole die chamber. The multiple billets are moving differently by the multiple extrusion punches controlled by PLC with the servo mechanism units. The results of the experiments show that the curved tube can be bended by the extrusion process and that the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of thick tube, tile folding and wrinkling of thin tube can not be shown after the bending processing by the extrusion bending machine.

KL-3 엔진 노즐목 삭마 과정에 관한 연구

  • 로켓엔진의 연소실에서는 고온의 연소가스로부터 다량의 열이 발생하기 때문에 이로부터 연소실을 보호하기 위한 방법이 필수적으로 요구된다. 한국 최초의 액체 로켓인 KSR-III 로켓의 주엔진인 KL-3 엔진에서는, 연소실을 보호하기 위한 방법으로 실리카/페놀(Silica/Phenolic) 내열재를 이용하는 용융냉각 방식을 채택하였다 용융냉각 방식은 내열재와 고온의 연소가스와의 물리ㆍ화학적 상호작용에 의해 삭마가 발생하게 되는데, 이러한 삭마는 연소실에서도 가장 고온부인 노즐목에 집중적으로 발생하는 경향이 있다. 그러나 노즐목에서 삭마의 진행은 노즐목의 크기를 증가시키고 연소압 및 추력을 감소시키는 부작용을 초래하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 열적 삭마에 의한 노즐목 크기의 증가량을 알아내기 위해 KL-3 엔진 노즐목의 형상을 측정하고자 시도하였으며, 노즐목의 삭마에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자를 확인하고 진행과정을 고찰하였다. 노즐목의 형상 측정을 위해서는 기존에 사용하던 3차원 변위 측정기를 이용한 방식의 접근이 곤란함에 따라 영상처리 기법을 도입한 측정 방식을 고안하여 사용하였으며, 이 장비는 만족스런 성능을 보여주었다. 시험결과를 통해서 삭마에 영향을 주는 주요 인자로 분무형태, 연소시간, 연소 온도를 제시하였고 이 중에서 분무형태는 삭마 형상에, 연소 시간 및 연소온도는 삭마량에 주로 영향을 끼친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 시간에 따른 삭마의 진행이 3개의 구간으로 나누어 설명할 수 있음을 밝혔는데, 노즐목이 원형을 그대로 유지하며 삭마진행이 미미한 구간, 원형에서 벗어나 요철형상이 발달하면서 삭마진행이 가속되는 구간, 요철형상이 이미 정착되어서 요철의 깊이만 증가하되 삭마량은 미미한 구간이다. 결과적으로 60초 연소 후 노즐목 면적 증가율은 +5.82% 정도이며, 이에 따른 연소압 및 추력의 감소 또한 1% 미만으로 미비하였다. 따라서 본 KL-3 엔진에 사용된 내열재의 내열 성능은 임무를 수행하기에 적절하다고 판단하였다.

회전압출다이를 이용한 헬리컬 핀붙이 원형단면 압출가공에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Extrusion Process of Circular Section Products with Helical Fins by Rotating Extrusion Dies)

  • A new extrusion process of the circular section product with helical fins could be developed by using rotating extrusion dies. The twisting of extruded product is caused by the twisted conical die surface connecting the die entrance section and the die exit section linearly. But, until now, because the process has used fixed extrusion dies, it needs high pressure in order to twist billet and form fin shape on the surface of billet. So, during extruding billet, in order not to twist billet, the extrusion dies is needed to rotate itself instead of twisting billet. And in order to rotate dies, the shape of inside contour of extrusion dies must have conical type with twisted Inclined die surface connecting the die entrance section and the die exit section linearly. The results of experiments show that, in spite of using twisted extrusion dies, twisting of the billet should not happen because of rotating dies in the opposite direction of twisting direction of billet during extruding billet, and, from the results, it shows that it can decrease the power of extrusion pressure and could prevent crack of teeth for fin forming.

  • 본 연구에서는 이러한 점에도 역점을 두어서 초기 피로균열의 발생.거동을 관 찰하기 쉬운 연강을 선택하여 편진인장반복하중을 작용시켜, 연강 평골재의 표면상에 발생.성장하는 미소표면균열의 거동을 전자현미경과 광학현미경을 병용하여 표면과 파 단면을 입체적으로 조사하여, 피로균열의 초기발생상태를 조사하고, 그 성장율을 조사 하여 파괴역학적으로 해석하여 그 특성을 조사한다.

두 개의 압출빌렛을 사용하는 'Λ' 단면 앵글 구조재의 압출굽힘가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Extru-Bending Process of the Angle Product with 'Λ' Section Using Two Extrusion Billets)

  • In the present study about extru-bending of angle product, the bending of extruded angle products with the $'\Lambda'$ section and 'ㄱ', section can be obtained using two extrusion billets by the hot metal extru-bending machine with the two punches moving in the different velocity. The bending curvature can be controlled by the different velocity of billets through the two-hole container. This paper describes simulations and experiments of extru-bending process that can make bending during extruding by the difference of stem velocities. And they are applied to two kinds of dies, that is, one of them is conical dies with symmetry $'\Lambda'$ section and the other one is conical dies with asymmetry 'ㄱ' section. The results of the forming simulation by $DEFORM^{TM}-3D$ and results of experiments show that the bending phenomenon at the die exit during extrusion can be obtained with two extrusion billet by the two stems moving in the different velocity. And it was known that it is possible to design the structure of conical cavity of extrusion dies and to control the curvature of product through the simulation and experiment of extru-bending process.
