Analysis of Vibration Characteristics of a Full Vehicle Model Using Substructure Synthesis Method (부분구조합성법을 이용한 전차량 모델의 진동 특성 분석)

  • The finite element (FE) method is generally used to model and simulate the physical behavior of large structures, such as passenger vehicles or aircraft. However, FE analysis involves a very large computation time and cost for developing the analysis model. Therefore, the vibration characteristics of large structural systems are often analyzed using the component mode synthesis (CMS) method, which is one of the substructure synthesis methods. In this study, the vibration characteristics of passenger vehicles are analyzed by using the substructure synthesis method. A passenger vehicle model, which includes a vehicle body, suspension systems, and a sub-frame, is presented. The physical components of the vehicle system are modeled as equivalent substructures using the Craig-Bampton method of CMS. The vibration characteristics, such as the natural frequencies and mode shapes and frequency response, of the vehicle system are determined. The effects of variations in some design parameters on the vibration characteristics of the full vehicle model are also investigated.

  • This study predicts the modified structural eigenvector and eigenvalue due to the change in the mass and stiffness of 2-dimesional continuous system by iterative calculation of the sensitivity coefficient using the original dynamic characteristic. The method is applied to examples of a crank shaft by modifing the mass and stiffness. The predicted dynamics characteristics are in good agreement with these from the structural analysis using the modified mass and stiffness.   • Pressure pulsations generated by the blade-tongue interaction induce vibration of the piping systems and the structure connected to pumps, resulting in the severe noise and fatigue fracture. Experiments were made on the natural frequencies of liquid columns in piping systems with a single suction, single stage, centrifugal volute pump. Experimental results show that the natural frequencies of the liquid columns in the pump piping systems depend on the dimensions of the pipes and the impeller shapes, and are not affected substantially by the rate of discharge and the rotating speed of the pump.

  • The piping verification tests were performed in order to verify the structural integrity during initial operation of the reactor coolant systems and the primary heat transportation systems of nuclear power plants by KEPRI in Korea. The tests were conducted at full operating temperature and pressure. The objective is to evaluate the possibility of excessive load generating on piping, piping supports, and reactor structures etc. in the steady normal operation and expected pump transient conditions. As a result, the measured vibrations have been shown acceptable level according to ASME/ANSI OMa-Standard, Part 3.

  • The nuclear power plant's turbine-generator system had been suffered form some problems, such as high shaft vibration, generator casing crack, stator coil water leakage, high $H_2$ gas consumption rate. Those kinds of problems were related to high vibration. So nuclear plant decided to replace generator in order to reduce rotor high vibration and high thermal sensitivity. A series of effort to reduce turbine-generator vibration was carried out as followings, first of all, replacement of generator, analysis of turbine-generator vibration, LP B rotor shop balancing, improvement of LP B/Gen coupling run-out, improvement of Generator basement and field balancing. Finally the nuclear turbine-generator's shaft vibration was reduced below $60{\mu}m$ from over $200{\mu}m$ which is very excellent vibration in nuclear turbine-generator in Korea.

  • 모우드 밀도의 산정을 정확하게 구하기 위해 고주파수 영역에서 흔히 적용되는 3채널 측정법이 저주파수대 영역에서도 2채널법에 의한 방법보다 주파수 응답함수의 크기 및 공전주파수의 위치를 보다 더 잘 나타내 주고 있다는 것을 실험적으로 제시하였다. 2채널 측정법에 비하여 3채널 측정법이 모우드 밀도가 균일한 보의 경우에 있어서도 주파수 응답함수의 크기를 실제의 경우와 근접하게 추정해 줄 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 상대적으로 모우드 밀도가 높은 평판의 경우에 있어서도 공진주파수 대에서의 주파수 응답함수의 형태를 보다 분명히 나타내어 줄 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 구조물과 가진기의 상호작용에 의한 고유진동수의 변동량 측정의 관점에서는 2채널 측정법과 3채널 측정법의 경우 모두 주파수 응답함수를 적절히 나타내어 주고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Lubricating oil supply system is an essential instrument for safe turbine operation. A lubricating condition may cause the abnormal vibration of turbine. In this paper we have discussed the abnormal vibration of turbine due to lubricating oil. Dusts of the air usually attach to end of the oil deflector and contact particles of the bearing oil. Dusts which were contacted particles of the bearing oil were changed into carbon deposit because of high temperature. therefore, carbon deposits occur abnormal vibration of the turbine when they contact a rotor. So, we have solved this problems through the various maintenance.

  • In general, industrial rotating machinery have been designed to have critical speed that is above operating speed. But nowadays, they should be operated more than the first critical speed as usual with the trend of high speed and high performance of rotating machinery. Therefore, it is important to predict the accuracy rotordynamic characteristics of the high speed rotating system in advance. In this paper, the results of rotordynamic analysis about FWP(Feed Water Pump) drive turbine rotor are showed. Because the FWP drive turbine analyzed is high speed machinery operated more than the operation speed of conventional FWP drive turbine, Seismic response analysis as well as unbalance response analysis is done in order to improve the reliability of the new turbine rotor-bearing system.

  • This paper is concerned with the dynamic modeling of transmission line undergoing galloping vibrations. To this end, the kinetic and potential energies of a uniform wire vibrating in space are derived. The equations of motion suitable for numerical simulations are derived using the assumed mode method and Lagrange equation. The resulting equations of motion are expressed in matrix form. To cope with bundled transmission line, the spacer was modelled by a spring element. As a numerical example, a two-wire transmission line combined by spacers was considered. Natural vibration characteristics show that the in-plane vibrations of the transmission line appeared in low frequency range, which may lead to galloping.

  • 씨일의 마모에 따른 터빈펌프의 동적거동을 고찰하기 위해서 10단 터빈펌프를 대상으로 유한요소법에 의한 동특성 해석을 수행하였다. 베어링과 씨일의 동적계수를 회전속도의 하수로 계산하였으며, 이를 동적거동해석에 적용하였다. 해석결과 씨일들은 그 간극이 커질수록 강성 및 감쇠계수가 크게 떨어지고 누설량이 급격히 늘어남을 확인하였다. 따라서 1차 위험속도(1st Critical Speed) 이하에서 충분한 분리여유(Seperation Margine)를 가지고 정상운전되도록 설계된 터빈펌프라 할지라도 장기적 사용시 마모가 진전됨에 따라 계의 1차 위험속도가 변하여 운전속도에 접근할 수 있으며, 아울러 이 때 씨일의 감쇠가 크게 줄어들어 급격한 진동의 증가를 가져올 수 있음을 보였다.
