Image Edge Detector Based on Analog Correlator and Neighbor Pixels (아날로그 상관기와 인접픽셀 기반의 영상 윤곽선 검출기)

  • This paper presents a simplified hardware based edge detection circuit which is based on an analog correlator combining with the neighbor pixels in CMOS image sensor. A pixel element of the edge detector consists of an active pixel sensor and an analog correlator circuit which connects two neighbor pixels. The edge detector shares a comparator on each column that the comparator decides an edge of the target pixel with an adjustable reference voltage. The circuit detects image edge from CIS directly that reduces area and power consumption 4 times and 20%, respectively, compared with the previous works. And also it has advantage to regulate sensitivity of the edge detection because the threshold value is able to control externally. The fabricated chip has 34% of fill factor and 0.9 ${\mu}W$ of power per a pixel under 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology.

Jamming Signal Rejection Algorithm for Uplink of Unmanned Aerial System (무인항공시스템의 상향링크를 위한 재밍신호 제거기법)

  • In order to increase the robustness of the uplink for UAS(Unmanned Aerial System), we propose a jamming signal rejection algorithm. In the UAS datalink system, DSSS (direct sequence spread spectrum) is used to reduce the radio noise or jamming signal. In general, jamming signals below the spreading gain are recoverable but the signals beyond the spreading gain can not be recovered. In this paper, these jamming signals beyond spreading gain are detected using the threshold detector in the spectrum area then, generate the estimated signals from the sine wave generator. Finally, we obtain the desired signal to remove jamming signals from the received signals. The proposed scheme can eliminate jamming signals while minimizing the hardware complexity and the original signal loss.

  • AC PDP는 다른 디스플레이들에 비해 높은 소비전력과 낮은 발광효율에 대한 문제를 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 기존의 Stripe shape ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)전극구조에서 Lock shape ITO전극구조를 제안하였다. 이 구조는 long gap을 가진 Square형태의 전극구조에 'ㄱ'형태의 점화전극을 추가한 구조로, 소비전력을 줄이기 위해 전극면적을 줄이고, discharge current를 제어 하였다. 또한 점화전극 구조에 의해 늘어난 gap으로 인한 방전개시전압 상승을 줄 일수 있었다. 실험은 Stripe shape ITO구조와 Lock shape ITO의 전극구조들로 구성되어 있는 Test Panel을 직접 제작하여 방전개시전압, 휘도, 소비전력, 발광효율을 측정하여 그 특성들을 비교하였다. 그 결과 제안된 전극구조에서의 소비전력은 reference 구조에 비해 최대 18% 감소하였고, 발광효율은 최대 13% 상승을 함을 보였다.

  • Experiments were conducted to determine the operating characteristics of a small-scale ORC (organic Rankine cycle) system for various low-temperature heat sources. A small-scale ORC power generation system adopting R-245fa as a working fluid was designed and manufactured. Hot water was used as the heat source, and the temperature was controlled using 110-kW electric resistance heaters that provided temperatures of up to $150^{\circ}C$. An open-drive oil-free scroll expander directly connected to a synchronous generator was installed in the ORC unit. Experiments were conducted by varying the rotational speed of the expander under the same heat source temperature conditions. The factors that influence the performance of the small-scale ORC system were analyzed and discussed.

  • In the manufacturing process of steel plates, materials at high temperatures above $800^{\circ}C$ are rapidly cooled by using a circular impinging water jet to determine their strength and toughness. In this study, the basic heat and fluid flow is solved by using the existing numerical model for boiling heat transfer. Actually, steel undergoes a phase change from austenite to ferrite or bainite during the cooling process. The phase change induces changes in its thermal properties. Instead of directly solving the phase change and the material cooling together, we solve the heat transfer only by applying the thermal properties that vary with temperature, which is already known from other studies. The effects of the changes in the thermal properties on the cooling of steel and the necessity of calculating the phase change are discussed.

  • CuInGaSe2 (CIGS)을 포함한 Chalcopyrite계 물질은 직접천이형 반도체이면서, ${\sim}1{\times}10^5cm^{-1}$ 이상의 광흡수계수를 보이며, 조성제어를 통한 밴드갭 조절이 가능해 차세대 고효율 박막태양전지재료로 매우 주목받고 있다. 최근, CIGS 박막태양전지 제조를 위해 CIGS 흡수층의 여러 가지 박막제조 공정들이 개발되고 있으나, 동시증착법과 소위 2단계법이라 일컬어지는 금속 전구체 스퍼터링 증착 후 셀렌화 공정을 가장 대표적인 공정이라 말 할 수 있다. 동시증착법은 실험실 수준의 소면적 셀에서 20%에 가까운 높은 효율의 CIGS 박막태양전지 제조에 성공하였음에도 불구하고, 상용화를 위한 대면적 셀 제조를 위해 해결해야 할 문제들이 아직 남아있다. 또한, 2단계법의 경우는 스퍼터링 공정을 기반으로 대면적 셀 제조에는 용이하나, CIGS/Mo 계면에서의 Ga 응집현상의 발생 및 셀렌화 공정에 사용되는 독성가스($H_2Se$)의 문제 등이 남아 있어 새로운 시각에서의 접근 방법이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 CIGS 4성분계 단일 타겟을 사용, RF 스퍼터링 공정을 통해 $200{\times}200mm^2$ 기판 위에 CIGS 박막을 제조하여 그 특성을 분석하였다. XRD 분석결과, 동시증착법에서 일반적으로 관찰되는 CIGS/Mo 계면에서의 $MoSe_2$ 상의 존재는 관찰되지 않았으며, CIGS 단일상의 다결정 박막이 제조되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, CIGS 박막제조 후, RTA 공정을 통해 CIGS 박막의 결정성이 향상됨을 관찰 할 수 있었으며, SIMS 분석결과, Mo층의 공정 조건에 따라 CIGS/Mo 계면에서의 금속원소 (In, Ga, Mo)의 상호확산이 크게 억제됨을 알 수 있었다. 그 외의 특성평가 결과들을 통하여 CIGS 4성분계 단일 타겟을 사용한 CIGS 박막태양전지 제조의 유용성에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

Effect of Multi-Swirl Injector on Acoustic Damping for Reduction of Combustion Instability (연소불안정 저감을 위한 다중 스월 인젝터의 음향학적 감쇠기능)

  • Swirl injector with adjustable backhole length was analyzed to suppress high-frequency combustion instability in Liquid Rocket Engines. In order to analyze the effect of swirl injector as an acoustic absorber, swirl injector was regarded as a quarter-wave resonator and its damping capacity is verified in atmospheric temperature. Experiments were carried out with copied tubes on air core because the interior air core volume of injector has a direct effect on damping. From the experimental data, it is proved that increasing the number of injectors mounted at each anti-node point can increase acoustic damping effect. Also, when tuned injectors at 1L, 1T, 1L1T modes simultaneously are installed at each anti-node point of model chamber, the damping effect of tuned injectors with multi modes agree well with it of tuned injectors with single mode.

Research on Effectiveness of Policy to Ban Violent Animation (폭력성 애니메이션 금지 정책의 효과에 관한 연구)

  • Government set violence as one of the important criteria when it rates movies or TV programs for juveniles. The purpose of selling this criteria is to prohibit the violence in TV programs or movies from affecting the actual behavior of juveniles. However, it is still under discussion how much the violence in broadcasting media actually affects juvenile violence. Korea once carried out a social experiment on juvenile violence media. Back in 1970, violent animation was popular in Korea and Korean government completely banned televising violent animations from September 1980 in an effort to prevent juvenile violence. Investigating the effect of this policy on juvenile violence would draw some implications. The result shows that the policy to ban violent animation in September 1980 didn't have meaningful effect on the trend of juvenile violence. The implication from this paper is that there is no certain cause-and-effect relationship between violent animation and juvenile violence. Another implication is that In-depth discussion is needed if this governmen4 policy is violating the juvenile's right to choose public media.

A Study on the Low Sidelobe Doppler Filter Bank Design Algorithm for Coherent Radar Equipment in Complex Air-Defense System (복합 방공망 구축물에서의 Coherent 레이다 설비의 저부엽 도플러 필터 뱅크 설계 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose the low sldelobe digital doppler filter bank design algorithm which is practically applicable to coherent radar equipment in complex air-defense system. Using the proposed algorithm, we can obtain a digital doppler filter bank of lower peak sidelobe level and higher clutter suppression capability. In this method, it is possible to achieve higher target-detectability without loss of Target SNR. The proposed algorithms are verified by simulations and experiments.

  • Mobile game have an advantage of mobility, portability, and simple interface. These advantages are useful for gesture recognition based game which should not have much content quantity and complex interface. This paper suggests gesture recognition based mobile game content with user movement could be applied directly to the mobile game wherever recognition system is equipped. Gesture is recognized by obtaining user area in image from the depth image of TOF camera and going through SVM(Support Vectorn Machine) using EOH(Edge Of Histogram) features of user area. And we confirmed that gesture recognition can be utilized to user input of mobile game content. Proposed technique can be applied to a variety of content, but this paper shows a simple way of game contents which is consisted of moving and jumping newly.
