A Study of Influencing Factors for Job Stress in University Administrative Staff (대학 행정 직원의 직무스트레스 및 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this research was to examine that the essence of university administrative staff's job stress and relevant characteristics that could influence their stress at work. For this research, we collected 250 samples of university administrative staffs in Seoul from March to April, 2017 and used 227 ones for final analyses. The results indicated that organizational characteristics (organizational commitment, organizational culture, perceived organizational support) and job characteristics (job satisfaction, job control, emotional labor) tended to be significantly associated to Job stress. These findings suggested that Employee Assistant Program (EAP) should be launched in order to provide integrated services for university staff. Second, diverse psycho-social services, such as consultation, leisure activities, and empowerment, should be provided by utilizing the resources of university. Lastly, the Korean Ministry of Education needs to support for enhancing the staff's work environments.

The Effect of Service Quality on Organizational Support and Job Satisfaction in Hotel Industry (호텔기업의 조직지원과 직무만족이 서비스품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study tried to find ways to improve service quality for customers and effective program of organizational support to increase the hotel employees' job satisfaction to empirically analyze causatively impacted relationship between the perceived organizational support, job satisfaction, and service quality in the hotel industry staff recognize. Data were collected from 217 and surveyed from 1 to 30 in November 2011 in hotel. To summarize the results of the study, first, satisfaction of individual job environment, satisfaction of work environment support concerned in support for personal values both was not affected significantly. Second, support for work environment was also affecting more than support for personal worth to improve the quality of customer service and in support for the organization Third, satisfaction of the individual's work environment affected adaptability, conviction, and corporality in job satisfaction variables while support satisfaction for working conditions effected conviction and adaptability without corporality. In order to enhance adaptability to customers who employees serve, it should be created work environment to make employees feel satisfaction in individual's work environment. Therefore, hotel managers have to entertain feelings of loyalty for their hotel and make employees satisfaction with their job and their duty by enhancing support for work environment of hotel employees in order to increase business performance by improving service quality for customers.

A Study on the User Satisfaction of Public Library Users in Korea (우리나라 공공도서관의 이용자만족도에 관한 연구: 2010 공공도서관 운영 평가 이용자만족도 조사 결과를 중심으로)

  • This study examines user satisfaction in public libraries nationwide. It analyzes service quality factors that affect user satisfaction of public library patrons and identify sub-factors of service quality that affect the overall user satisfaction. User satisfaction factors were developed to measure library satisfaction in all aspects of the library service. Six variables were identified, including volume of books, staff, programs, facilities, online services, and information availability. According to survey findings, general library satisfaction was strongly correlated with information availability, facilities, and staff. Relatively lower levels of satisfaction were identified in the areas of online services and programs. All six service quality factors were statistically significantly associated with user satisfaction, where information availability, facilities, and volume of books showed stronger associations than the other three factors.

A Study of Incheon Airport Employees' Perception and Attribution on ASQ Service Performances focusing on Outsource Workers (공항운영인력의 ASQ 서비스성과 공유에 대한 인식 및 귀인 연구 : 인천공항 아웃소싱직원을 중심으로)

  • Perception of outsource workers among Incheon Int'l airport employees was reviewed about the service performances of winning the ASQ awards in 11 consecutive years. 85% of Incheon airport operating authority(Incheon International Airport Corp.) and its outsource companies employees was composed of outsource workers. Thus, their thoughts might represent the overall perception of airport operating authority employees. The perception on the service performances of winning the ASQ awards was analyzed by researchers using attribution theory model. It is useful to apply attribution modeling in order to analyze the causal relationships among variables. Attribution is the process by which individuals explain the causes of behavior and events. Attribution theory is the study of models to explain those processes. According to empirical analysis, it was found outsource workers attributed the excellent service performance of Incheon airport to such an internal factor as service competence. However it was also implied they attributed to such external factors as the positive relationship and institutional support from airport and government authorities.

A Study on Users' Perception of Reference Services in National Archives of Korea (국가기록원 기록정보서비스에 대한 이용자 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the perception and experience of users who visited in Seoul office of the National Archives, a branch of the National Archives of Korea(NAK). For collecting data, the study utilized the Researcher Survey Toolkit developed by Archival Metrics Project and revised the questionnaire to reflect services of NAK. Questionnaires completed by 47 users were collected and analyzed, and interviews with one survey respondent and two staff were performed. It was found that the purpose of the visit is mostly to identify records that prove land ownership of users' ancestors. Types of records frequently used were also those concerning lands and forests. User feedback on the staff was generally positive, and users perceived them to be helpful and kind. However, there was an opinion that the staff did not provide accurate information about whether NAK hold records that the user wanted to find. The staff also said that it was challenging to confirm where requested records are located when providing services for users. User evaluation on the usefulness and the ease of use of NAK portal services was not very positive, and it was perceived to be very inconvenient to search in the portal. Overall, users were satisfied with the services of NAK, although some users suggested that services need be provided efficiently, and NAK must clarify the criteria for the non-disclosure of public records.

  • While machines can replace general industries, it is impossible to do so in service industries in which require various contacts with clients. As automated system would not work in service industries, it requires more of reliance to human resources than other industries. The services done here for customers are consequently reflected to the level of customers' satisfaction and business performance. Thus, highly qualified services are important factors for the success in the industry, but the problem here is that there is not enough care for employees providing those services. Therefore, this study analyzes employees' personalities and shows how those affect to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. It also aims at showing present problems in companies. MBTI, a test showing one's character, has been applied for the analysis, and surveys have been provided to employees to see how their personalities affect to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Through this process, job satisfaction in accordance with one's character and organizational commitment is partially similar, and the hypothesis assuming that there is interrelationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment was proved.

A Study on Effects of Service Quality of Local Culture Art Service Quality on Effect and Customer Satisfaction (지역문화예술서비스품질이 경제적·문화적 효과와 고객만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • There has been a steady increase in cultural arts recently, and the need for "regional culture and arts" has been raised as local residents have been making efforts to increase income and develop local areas for regional development. Therefore, this study was intended to establish empirically the effects of local cultural and arts service quality on performance effects and customer satisfaction. Research shows that it affects economic and social and cultural effects as a service quality dimension, and performance effects affect customer satisfaction and intention to reuse them. However, research between customers and employees showed some differences. Through this research, we want to identify what important service quality factors are to satisfy the customers and employees who are watching the performance arts, understand the level of awareness of the effects of the performance, and provide an opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction with the audience and staff.

Importance-Performance Analysis of Multiplex Cinema Attributes (멀티플랙스 영화관 선택속성의 중요도-성취도 분석)

  • This research aims to analyze the importance-performance among multiplex cinema selection attributes. Therefore, we collected data for visitors who visited the multiplex cinema and want to watch movies. Of the various multiplex cinema selection attributes, four factors were deduced that includes: major services, human services, physical environment, auxiliary services using exploratory factor analysis. In the quadrant I, the area of 'Concentrate Here' was 'diversity of screening time', 'diversity of movie genre', 'convenience of mobile app use', 'size and convenience of parking facility'. In the quadrant II, 'Keep up the Good Work' area was 'convenience of website booking', 'discounts through card partnerships', 'employee friendliness', 'accurate employee information delivery', 'comfortable seating', 'screen size', 'cinematic sound quality', and 'convenience of traffic' etc. The quadrant III, 'Low Priority' appeared to be 'membership system', 'tidiness of staff attire', 'resting space for waiting time', 'accessibility to the neighboring area', 'diversity of the snack corner', and 'overall cleanliness' etc. The quadrant IV, 'Possible Overkill' was 'appropriateness of the auditorium temperature' and 'service proficiency'.

The Influences of Social Intelligence on Cooperation and Individual Performance of Hotel Employees (호텔직원의 사회지능이 협력과 개인성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The social intelligence, ability of social harmony and relationship was one of the key factor for hotel service quality. and then inquired the relationships among customer-facing employee's social intelligence of hotel, cooperation of employee, and individual performance. Through the theoretical consideration, concept of social intelligence was established, then we set up the hypothesis for causality relationship. The 201 customer-facing employee of a luxury hotel in Korea were analyzed. According to the results, social intelligence of customer-facing employee effects to cooperation of employee and individual performance positively as well. Cooperation of employee has been confirmed on a positive effect on individual performance. That is, social intelligence is social relationships to effectively building and maintaining a positive and essential skills to leading a substantial performance. Based on the empirical results, meanings, implications, and future research suggestions of social intelligence are discussed.
