  • 서울특별시 보건소 간호원에 대한 보수교육이 3월 6일부터 9일까지 4일간 본회 강당에서 서울시 간호원회 주최로 열렸다. 이번 보수교육은 서울시 13개 보건소 간호원을 대상으로 전기(6,7일), 후기(8,9일) 두차례로 나눠 실시되었다. 본지는 이번 보수교육의 연제를 발췌하여 싣는다.

The Change of Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice on Musculoskeletal Diseases after Exercise Program in an Electronic Parts Manufacturing Company (일개 전자부품 근로자의 근골격계질환 예방을 위한 운동프로그램 실시 후 지식, 태도, 실천의 변화)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to find the change of knowledge, attitude, and practice on musculoskeletal diseases after preventive exercise program. Method: The 169 subjects who worked at an electronic parts manufacturing company in Seoul were participated in 11 week exercise program from February 14, to April 29, 2005. Result: The change of complaint rate of musculoskeletal symptoms based on NIOSH diagnosis standard for each body part was not statistically significant. The change of knowledge, attitude and practice on musculoskeletal diseases after exercise program was statistically significant. The change of knowledge after exercise program was higher in the group of participation days(17-32 days), work department(electronic components dept., mold manufacturing dept., and condenser dept.). The change of attitude after exercise program was higher in the group of work department(electronic components dept.) and job position(employee). The change of practice after exercise program was higher in the group of participation days(17-32 days), and job position(employee). Conclusion: The continuous and regular exercise program will help to prevent musculoskeletal diseases.

  • This study investigates working parent stress. This study surveyed 240 working mothers who are raising toddlers and 106 teachers in Seoul, Cyeong-gi, and Incheon. For this study, the Parenting Stress scale developed by Kim & Kang (1997) was used as the instruments for measurement and parental stress. To measure maternal separation anxiety, this study used the Maternal Separation Anxiety Scale (MSAS) developed by Hock (1989), while the Attitude for Occupation scale developed by Farel (1980) was used to measure the attitude for occupation. In addition, the Preschool Adjustment Questionnaire (PAQ) developed by Jewsuwan, Luster and Kostelink (1992), and modified by Oh Chong Eun (2001) were used as the instruments for measurement and adjustment. Data analysis was done using the SPSS WIN 15.0 version and the collected data were subject to a descriptive statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA t-test, and multiple regression analysis. The influential independent variables affecting parenting stress listed in order of significance were maternal attitude for occupation, adjustment of children, maternal anxiety, and income.

  • Automotive field specialist developed National Competency Standards for Automotive Maintenance to apply for the education and evaluation of automotive maintenance. National Competency Standards scope and system for Automotive Maintenance has been developed and provided Performance Criterion, knowledge, skill, attitude, and evaluation methods for each item. Also it has provided vocational basic knowledge level and qualification frame for automotive maintenance.

Nurses' Knowledge, Attitudes and Nursing Intention toward AIDS and Chronic Hepatitis B (간호사의 에이즈와 만성 B형 간염에 대한 지식과 태도 및 간호의도)

  • Purpose: This study aims at comparing nurses' knowledge, attitudes and nursing intention toward AIDS and Chronic Hepatitis B(CHB). Methods: The data were collected through self-reported questionnaires from 245 nurses between July and August, 2011. The nurses were recruited from 3 hospitals located in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression were adopted to analyze the data. Results: Regarding AIDS, higher knowledge level was correlated with positive attitudes only(r=-.22, p<.001), which were correlated with favorable nursing intention(r=-.41, p<.001). Higher CHB knowledge level was correlated with both positive attitudes toward CHB(r=-.14, p= .030) and favorable nursing intention(r=.18, p= .004). Nursing intention toward AIDS was affected by attitudes(${\beta}$=.58, p<.001) and explained 16.6% of the variance. Both knowledge(${\beta}$=.35, p=.028) and attitudes(${\beta}$=-.49, p<.001) influenced nursing intention toward CHB and explained 19.1% of the variance. Conclusion: We need to promote nurses' positive attitudes toward AIDS to increase their nursing intention for people living with AIDS.

A Study on Analysis of Mental Fitness, Perspective Taking, Attitude toward the Elderly, and Quantitative Encephalogram among Caregivers (요양보호사의 마음건강, 관점수용, 노인 돌봄태도 및 정량 뇌파 분석 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mental fitness, perspective taking, attitude toward the elderly, and quantitative encephalogram among caregivers. Methods: In this mixed method research, 14 female caregivers at an elderly care facility in Y city were participated from December 1st to December 31st, 2019. Structured questionnaires were applied to measure general characteristics, mental fitness, perspective taking, and attitude toward the elderly. Brain waves were measured by quantitative encephalogram in the prefrontal lobe. High frequency and high level of care tasks were analyzed using content analysis. Results: According to analysis of brain waves, caregivers experienced high level of physical strain & stress and psychological distraction & stress. Mental fitness (p<.05) and perspective taking (p<.001) were associated with attitude toward the elderly. Moreover, physical strain & stress was associated with psychological distraction & stress (p<.05, p<.001). High frequency and high level tasks were excretion and position change & movement care related tasks, respectively. Conclusion: These findings should be consider as an evidence for supporting care tasks based on concrete and objective understanding of caregivers using self-reported index as well as neurophysiological indicators including brain waves.

The Influence of Adolescent's Career Attitude, Occupation Value, and Social Support on Career Preparation Behavior (청소년의 진로준비행동에 관한 연구 : 진로태도, 직업가치관, 사회적지지)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of demographic, occupation value, career attitude, and social support on high school students' career preparation behavior. The data was collected from the Korean Survey on of the Career and occupation of Youth in 2009(N=3,499). Descriptive statistics, One-way ANOVA, T-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed on SPSS 17.0. The results of this study are as follows: first, career preparation behavior according to gender was much higher for female students than male students. There were statistically significant differences in career preparation behavior according to school years. The first year students' perception in of career preparation behavior was higher than the second, and third year students. The first year students' perception in of career preparation behavior was higher than second, and third year students. Second, career preparation behavior had a significant correlations with work value, career attitude, family support, and school support. Third, this study demonstrated that career decisiveness and family support was a strong factor in career preparation behavior. In addition, among all factors, the career decisiveness of career attitude was proved to be the most influential factor on career preparation behavior. The study discusses practical implications for career education programs.

The Relation between Interpersonal Attitude and Communication Competence of New Visiting Nurses in Community Health Center (보건소 신규방문간호사의 대인태도와 의사소통능력)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the relations of interpersonal attitude and communication competence of new community health nurses. Methods: The research design was a correlational study. The data were collected from 136 visiting nurses using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: The type of interpersonal attitude in subjects was I+U+ and the score of communication competence was 3.6. Among 15 sub-dimensions, the highest score was responsiveness and the lowest was assertiveness. There were no significant differences in communication competence by general characteristics. Factors influencing on communication competence in new visiting nurses were interpersonal attitude I+(I am OK) (${\beta}$=.34) and I-(I am not OK) (${\beta}$=-.28). Conclusion: Education program, stressing the self-awareness, is necessary to increase positive interpersonal attitude and communication competence for reemployment of community health nurses. Furthermore, in order to reinforce assertiveness, institutional support should be accompanied with the efforts of individual level.

The Relationship among Knowledge, Attitudes, Skill, Self-efficacy, and Job Satisfaction of Healthcare Managers (건강관리사의 지식, 태도, 기술, 자기효능감과 직무만족)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the differences and relationships among knowledge, attitudes, skill, self-efficacy (SE), and Job satisfaction (JS) of healthcare managers (HMs) participated in the 4 kinds of continuing education. Methods: The subjects were 152 HMs. Data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and partial correlation. Results: There were significant differences in knowledge according to the amount of healthcare management experience (HME) and the training program level (TPL); in the attitudes according to gender, age, and the TPL; in the skill according to the amount of HME and the TPL; and in SE according to gender and the TPL. There was no significant difference in JS according to general characteristics. There were significant positive correlations among knowledge, attitudes, skill, SE, and JS. Conclusion: The TPL was identified as a significant common variable that affects all variables apart from JS. According to these results, knowledge, attitudes, skill, and SE are considered as intrapersonal constructs, whereas JS is considered as an organizational construct. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of healthcare management, organizational strategy to enhance job satisfaction of HMs are recommended.

Experience of Violence and Hospital Violence Attitude according to Gender and Gender-Role Identity of Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 성별, 성역할정체감에 따른 병원폭력 경험과 병원폭력에 대한 태도)

  • Purpose: This study aims to examine differences in experiences of violence and hospital violence attitude according to gender and gender-role identity of clinical nurses. Methods: The quota sampling method, was used to select the research subjects. They were divided into two groups male and female nurses who worked for three general hospitals or higher level-hospitals in Incheon and Gyeongbuk. The data of 219 subjects was used for final analysis. The IBM SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the data t-test and ANOVA. Results: According to gender, the hospital violence experience of female nurses was oserved frequently when the verbal violence came from guardians, and when the physical threats came from others. For male nurses, the experiences of hospital violence was obserbed. According to gender, the hospital violence attitude revealed significant differences in female nurses that the negative attitude was higher (t=-4.69, p<.001). According to gender-role identity, the undifferentiated and femininity showed significant differences (F=4.86 p=.003). Conclusion: The differentiated strategies of coping measures and violence preventive education considering the gender and gender-role identity of clinical nurses would help formulate measures for the effective management of hospital violence.
