Correspondence of Elementary School Students Anticipated Vocations, Perceived Competencies, and Interests (초등학생의 직업기대와 능력지각 및 흥미 일치도 분석)

  • This study examined a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. For the purpose, this study asked 659 primary school students what activities they liked, those they thought they were good at, and what job they expected when they grew up. The responses were coded into RIASEC Holland codes and agreement across the three questions was examined using kappa statistics. Results indicated that there was a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. When broken down into separate examinations by gender, males and females had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. And the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for males too. We couldn't examine females' case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. Examinations of the results by grade demonstrated that 5th-grade and 6th-grade had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. However the correspondence of vocation and interest was significant for 5th-grade. the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for 5th-grade too. We couldn't examine 6th-grade's case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. The result obtained from this study indicate that there is a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. Such a result means that children, 5th-grade and 6th-grade, can consider their competencies and interests with their vocations. The findings are especially relevant for counselors and teachers working with children.

A Comparison Study on Job Satisfaction of Logistics Employees and Students Majoring in Logistics (물류기업 재직자와 물류전공 대학생의 물류직업만족도 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the perceived job satisfaction of logistics company employees and students majoring in logistics who expect to engage in logistics occupations after graduation, and to suggest its implications in improving logistics job satisfaction. Based on previous studies on job satisfaction for logistics and other industries, the pertinent factors to logistics job satisfaction were identified, and a survey was conducted for logistics company employees and students majoring in logistics. Additionally, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and t-test were performed to compare the differences in logistics job satisfaction. As a result of comparing the perceptions differences in job satisfaction between logistics company employees and students majoring in logistics, each pair of the following were significantly different: personal achievement, social achievement, job prospect, and economic satisfaction. However, there was no meaningful difference in job security and recognition from others.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate influence of sheltered workshop management consulting on management performance and reflect its outcome in order to improve the rationalization of management at sheltered workshop. The major results of this study that are summarized as follows: First of all, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management consulting. Management performance consist of business management, marketing, accounting/finance, production/operations. Marketing appears to have the highest expectations of these. Second, executive of sheltered workshop has expected management performance. Management performance consists of customer satisfaction Performance, internal process performance, financial performance. Internal process performance appears to have the highest expectations of these. Third, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects customer satisfaction performance. In particular, appears to have the greatest impact on the field of business management. Fourth, management consulting performance of sheltered workshop affects management consulting that affects internal process Performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these. Fifth, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects financial performance. In particular, business management, production/operations appear to have the highest affectability better than others of these. Sixth, executive of sheltered workshop recognize management consulting that affects customer satisfaction performance, internal process performance, financial performance. customer satisfaction performance appear to have the highest, financial performance appear to have the lowest.

A Search of Relationship of Career Compromise and Career Related Variables of University Students (대학생의 진로타협과 진로관련 변인들의 관계 탐색)

  • This study is to find out the type of relation existed for the career compromise of university students with respect to the career related variables. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey has been implemented for 278 University students in order to measure the level of career compromise, career decision-making self-efficacy, career outcome expectations, workhope, career motivation, and occupational engagement behavior. The data analysis facilitated SPSS 22.0 to administer reliability analysis, basic statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The result of this study is shown as follows. First, career decision-making self-efficacy, career outcome expectations and workhope are all shown to influence on career compromise, and the greater the relative influence of workhope. As a result of detailed look, career compromise has shown the influence, and career compromise has shown the influence, on the occupational engagement behavior. Therefore, university students in Korea confirmed that career compromise is negatively affecting career-related factors. Based on the research findings, it is meaningful to note that it is necessary to help university students effectively cope with the situation of the career compromise in a career guidance and consultation scene.

The Mediating Effect of Outcome Expectation on the Relationship between the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and the Career Planning of Career Interrupted Women (경력단절 여성의 진로결정 자기효능감과 경력계획의 관계에서 결과기대의 매개효과)

  • The present study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of outcome expectation on the relationship between the career decision-making self-efficacy and the career planning of career interrupted women. Survey data were collected from 270 career interrupted women. To examine the mediating effect, the hierarchical regression analysis had been done according to the procedure suggested by Baron and Kenny(1986). The results of data analysis were summarized as follow: First, the career decision-making self-efficacy, the outcome expectation, and the career planning scores from the career interrupted women showed positive correlations. Second, the result of the hierarchical regression analysis showed that the outcome expectation partially mediated the relationship between the career decision-making self-efficacy and the career planning of career interrupted women. The current results imply that the level of outcome expectation is important for the career counseling for career interrupted women in practice and future research.

A study on dental hygienists' job expectation (치과위생사의 직업기대에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to grasp association with dental hygienists' job expectation through correlation between curricular subjects for the department of dental hygiene and job. Methods : It carried out convenience sampling of dental hospitals where are located in Capital Area, and then conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey targeting 274 dental hygienists who are working here. The statistical program was analyzed by using PSAW 18.0. Results : Research subjects' 60.2% experienced turnover. Its reason accounted for 31.7% with the working condition. As a result of examining difference in experience of turnover according to dental hygienists' individual characteristic and working form, the significant difference was shown in age, marriage, annual salary, working institution, and career. In consequence of confirming association between curricular subjects and job, the majority showed high correlation. However, the correlation with oral physiology, clinical dental hygiene, and dental clinics showed low correlation as the insignificant variable. Conclusions : As a result of this study, the high correlation between curricular subjects and job can be considered to reflect dental hygienists' job expectation. On the other hand, the working condition, professional sense, and turnover experience, which are factors related to dental hygienists' job expectation, were indicated to fail to meet job expectation.

  • In this paper, we looked around a history and trends of domestic & overseas of the system for lifelong vocational competency development, and the vocational education & training system to be operating in Korea Polytechnic Colleges. And we looked around and analyzed the case characteristics their own to be operating in Korea Polytechnic Colleges for lifelong vocational competency development which is based on. It is expected an ability-centered society to build through a reviewing and complement of various related to the lifelong vocational competency development by the complement and introducing the advanced international system which is based on these cases.

Empirical Meanings and Dilemmas of the Profession of an Academic Librarian: Applying Giorgi's Phenomenological Method (대학도서관 사서 직업에 대한 경험적 의미와 딜레마: Giorgi의 현상학 방법을 적용하여)

  • This study aimed to delve into the personal experiences of academic librarians as they perform their duties, seeking a holistic understanding of their professional experiences and the subjective experiences underlying them. To this end, the study conducted in-depth interviews with librarians, who were selected as research participants from private four-year universities, and analyzed the collected data using Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method. The findings reveal that the experiences of academic librarians can be summarized as "ambivalent perceptions of the librarian profession," "discrepancies between expectations and reality," "discriminatory personnel practices within university organizations," "growth and limitations derived from professional experiences," and "adaptation and anxiety in response to rapid environmental changes." A closer examination indicated that academic librarians continuously experience and resolve dilemmas within complex contexts. The findings of this study are expected to deepen the understanding of the profession of academic librarians and contribute to the development of practical strategies for workforce management and the improvement of working conditions.

Differences of Perception Between Students and Teachers to the Key Competencies Education in the University through A College Practice (대학의 직업기초능력 교육에 대한 교수와 학생의 인식 차이: A대학 사례를 중심으로)

  • The expectation and importance for the key competencies education in the university have been greater. Although there have been many various efforts of the university for its social accountability that it should cultivate the qualified person company requires, there is a bit gap between the university education and social demand. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and demand of students and teachers to the key competencies and then offer a help to develop and operate strategies with which university education can be prepared for the demand of teachers, students and society. In this study, questionnaires on the perception and demand to the key competencies education were developed and responded by 475 students and 58 professors as a subject of this study. The results were analysed using multiple response frequency analysis, cross analysis and t-test. Also the statistical level of significance was set at p<.05 by using SPSS 12.0 for Windows. The results suggested that there were significant differences between the perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies education, particularly to the items questioning the degree of difficulty in preparing for future employment, the most important resource from which they can obtain aids, the degree of efforts they put for the key competencies development and employment, and the main factors for the key competencies development and employment. We can expect to offer an implication for the university education based on perception and demand of teachers and students to the key competencies.
